Remax Voyage

I just closed my apartment on October 18th. It was a co-op and it took 10 months. They charged me either 4% or 5% of the sale price. They did great because I knew the fellow who worked at Remax. He had listings in one of the newspapers and he did quite a lot, actually. When we found the buyer who was a complete pain in the a**, there were minor things that had to be done to the apartment and he helped and actually did some of the work. It was just minor stuff and he would go and check on the apartment when I couldn't. He did a lot, he was great. My outlets in the kitchen were just double outlets. So what I had done was I bought one of those plastic things that you stick in and made it a quad outlet versus a double. I actually had to go over and remove them. But what I didn't do is put the switch plates on and the buyer called and said that the switch plates had to be put on. Mike from Remax went over and put three switch plates on and this is how tedious the buyer was. Mike went over and first removed the additional outlet thing that I had put in and then he had to go back at another time and put the switch plates on. I'm satisfied with him at this particular Remax. With respect to the price, there was no leeway. Remax is a big company and even though I knew him it was whatever the company charged. It was either 4 or 5% of the sale price. I think it was decent. I believe Remax negotiated with other real estate companies to list my property. They did all of that work. I didn't have to go to multiple real estate places. In my case, it was fine because the buyer walked in and I don't think that they had to split their commission with another company, but they did list it with other real estate agencies.

They were wonderful. Within the first week of contact they had a couple come in and buy the apartment.
