Description of Work: Patrick Moving & Storage packed up and moved our furniture from our 2-bedroom apartment into the garage of the house we will be moving into in a few weeks after completion of remodeling work. |The movers themselves were good and very solution-oriented. They clearly had not received all the information about the move that I had provided by phone and by email to the office. The implication was that they didn't bring certain packing materials. However, they addressed the issues effectively and the move could be completed as planned. Overall, they were very helpful. Compared to other (much higher) quotes this was a really good deal for the service provided.

Description of Work: They helped me move from Brooklyn to New Rochelle. The experience was a smooth one, as the guys knew what they were about. Their experience was obvious.

Description of Work: The movers were great. They arrived early and did everything in a quick but very careful way. They were very nice and went out of their way to make sure everything was done exactly the way I asked. They were extremely protective of my belongings and everything arrived in perfect condition.

Description of Work: Everything went well. The men who did the move were courteous and professional. They seemed to be very experienced as they had no trouble moving furniture with irregular shapes. The only negative was there was a hidden charge of $150 when the crew was ready to leave. They said this was on top of the advertised price and it covered tolls and gas for their commute. Other than that the move was very smooth and successful.

Description of Work: This was my first time using a Moving Company so naturally I was apprehensive and nervous. My fear was immediately allayed as the movers were professional and personal and treated our furniture with the utmost respect and care. I would recommend Patrick Movers to everyone!!!

Description of Work: This local family business gets it done cheap and quick. Actually, a little too quick. They really hustle, so there was no question that they would be finished before the estimated time, nor do I believe that the owner tried to cheat me in any way. The truck arrived on time, and the move was completed early and for the estimated price. |The only problems I had came from the crew being more concerned with finishing the job early than being careful with my valuables. You expect some scratches and dings with any move, but we had more than our share because although the crew used a lot of packing tape, blankets, etc., these were not always applied properly to the furniture--out of haste, inexperience, or both. Also, they came with a smaller truck than the job required, so we had to make two trips, which was OK in itself because I moved a short distance. But with the second trip, I requested they not move the piano out of the truck until I arrived in my car. When I was parking a block away, I saw from a distance that they were already moving it. The instrument didn't suffer any permanent damage, but it was a little scary watching them work with it: some of them were experienced with piano moving, but not all. If you have a very valuable instrument, it's probably not worth the risk of having this company move it. |The owner, who came to my house to give the estimate, is a really charming, no-nonsense guy. The crew he sent (including his son) were friendly, cheerful, and hard-working--just a little less careful than I would have liked. Also a little less honest than I'd hoped: after they moved the piano, some of the crew were playing it a little and discovered that some of the keys had slipped out of place and weren't functioning. Rather than alert me to the problem, their first move was to close the key lid to prevent me seeing that something was wrong. (Nothing permanent, as it turns out, and not the movers' fault.) Finally, I don't know if it's standard practice for a moving crew to appropriate something for themselves, but it was a hot day and one nice electric fan of ours never made it off the truck. |It's the combination of these little things that leads me to give Patrick Moving a B, not an A, for an otherwise commendable job.

Description of Work: It was a last minute urgent Angie's List email to Patrick moving because my initial mover wanted to charge $400 more to move me in the morning, however neglected to tell me that until two day before the move. I went on Angie's List, saw great reviews for Patrick's and boy were they correct. | |Patrick's immediately answered the email and followed up with a phone call right away. Phew! The only small issue wasa $50 charge for a Certificate of Insurance. | |Three kind, courteous and honest men arrived punctually on moving day and carefully loaded the truck with my belongings. They wraped the mirrors and sealed the mattress in plastic. Of course, the service elevator in my new apartment building was out of order, but they made it all work. They even helped my parents unload their large rental van containing a small sofa and many boxes and bags. | |Patrick Moving reassembled my difficult bed and gave me great advice - I had ordered a box spring, but they correctly felt that the slats of the bed would not support one. Luckily we were able to cancel this box spring thus saving us $200 and a big headache. Furthermore, they advised that the box spring would not have fit in the regular elevator and I'm on the 14th floor. | |They even assembled my Ikea dresser and it was NOT easy. This saved us an enormous amount of effort. I cannot say enough good things about this mover.
