This firm is guilty of gross negligence in my opinion. They advertise themselves as Sub-Zero experts. They are not. They are not certified. They are not even knowledgeable despite that they appear at first to be. They don't carry the parts they need. They broke my Sub-Zero freezer, did sloppy work to fix what they broke. When i confronted them, they came back several times, each time trying to fix what they broke, each time leaving me short of a solution. I was very nice to them each time, i tipped them generously, and keep hoping they would actually do the work. Unforutnately, after 4 visits it became clear that they were not CAPABLE of simple things such as replacing a broken shelf that THEY BROKE. They claimed (after I pressed them) that the parts were on back order. I trusted them. But after about 6 weeks of waiting for a call back after their third or fourth visit, after multiple messages I left them, i realized it was hopeless. When i first called them the freezer was just slightly warmer than it should have been, causing my frozen stuff to slowly melt. When they left, i had broken shelves, a freezer door that didn't completely shut, and an ice-maker that didn't work. I finally called an authorized Sub-Zero technician who showed me the damage these guys did. He was able to instantly fix what was broken. These scam artists also only accept cash. In retrospect, i can see why. They are unprofessional. And they are nice enough during their service calls to keep you guessing as to whether or not they may actually be good. They are smooth talkers, but they don't deliver. I am now out over $2,000 because of these guys, and they won't return my calls. They should not be used again. I am honestly worried for my safety too.... they kept asking me personal questions about when i am in the apartment, at awkward times, as if they wanted to know when the place may be unattended. Bart is their lead guy, he travels with another guy all the time, even though the work they do always seems to require less than one person. I honestly feel like these guys are crooks who use Sub-Zero repair as a front to burglarize apartments. I didn't fall for the trap and tell them my hours of being home, but i would not trust these guys. If anything every happens to my apartment, they are prime suspects. Please note that they did not steal anything from me -- to my knowledge. I only mention the potential for burglary based on how intrusive they were, how many visits they made, how they had two people for less than one person's work, with seemingly no progress and no expertise in actually fixing problems. It felt very fishy - with a second person snooping around while the other guy "fixes" things. At the time i was concerned, but i figured, hey, maybe one guy is an apprentice, the other guy the master.... who knows. They were nice enough. Just please fix my stuff, i thought, treat them nicely, and all will be well -- so i thought. The only reason i didn't give them all "F" marks is because they did actually restore my freezer's correct temperature. They were able to replace some parts for the $2k+ i spent... which i have no way to verify whether or not the replacements were even necessary. They also responded promptly to my first emergency request for service. One last point- they make all their phone calls from a "No caller ID" phone #. They don't answer the phone directly - they screen their calls. It's a total scam. Don't use these guys ever.
Description of Work: This provider was called in to do a simple repair of my Sub-Zero freezer. They are complete scam artists. Not reliable. They not only failed to repair my freezer, but actually caused damage and failed to call me back to fix the mess they left. I was extremely flexible and friendly towards them, giving them extra weeks of leeway to schedule follow up, but they stopped returning my calls.
