G CONSTRUCTION

I hired Gerardo, who stated that he was fully licensed. He agreed to repair the leak and to replace the stained floor tiles on the floor of the shower. On 6/15 he started the work w/a $900 deposit. He completed the work 6/19 and was paid the remaining $550. The opening in the wall could not be closed until the cement and grout dried so that the leak could be checked. On 6/22 the supt. found that the leak was not repaired. I called Gerardo that day and he came and stated that he would be here tomorrow at 9 to rectify the leak and to replace the floor tiles that were improperly installed. He did not show nor answer the phone. I called 16 times and left msgs. over the next 5 days. I finally heard from him and he made an appt. for the next day and did not show nor answer the phone that day or the next 4 days. Waiting for him to show up to complete the job in addition to finding out that he was unlicensed & not permitted to work in NY meant that G turned out to be the contractor from hell.
