Description of Work: Movers in New York didn't pack items correctly. We have several pieces of damaged and broken furniture. Movers in Denver were outrageously unprofessional, unprepared and unskiled. We paid for our things to be unpacked. They refused. We paid for the movers to set up our beds and cribs and reassemble furniture. They refused. We paid for them to hang out TVs. They refused. Our freshly painted walls are dinged and scuffed in every room. My husband caught someone opening a package with out chef knives. The foreman called the police because he felt threatened by one of the movers who accosted him to sign a form saying the job was complete given that it wasn't. This experience was a complete disaster and extremely emotional taxing for my family. To make it worse, FlatRate has been *completely* unresponsive to our complaints and has yet to compensate us for this abysmal performance. | |Please, do not use this company.

Description of Work: These movers moved the household goods of our daughter and son-in-law from their apartment in New York City to an apartment in Oakland, Ca. The movers were polite, thoughtful and careful but very fast. The crew that did the driving and delivery were especially good. We'd notified the company that the street of the new apartment was a narrow and constricted one with bends and parked cars. Apparently, the crew never got that message and unloaded our daughter and her husband's huge truck in that street and then managed to slowly, slowly get that truck off the street with nary a scratch.

Description of Work: The movers were courteous but the entire experience was horrendous. They broke or damaged multiple items including an Eames lounge chair, art work, completely destroyed a concrete console, broke multiples glasses and plates, damaged my wooden dresser, dented shelving, etc. Total damages were in excess of $10K but they only reimbursed me $2700 even though I bought insurance. Their methodology for how much to reimburse was arbitrary and we are still debating on whether we should take legal action. Moreover, a portion of our shipment was delayed as they claimed their truck broke down and for some reason certain items were sent back to New York (from where we moved). They also missed their delivery window by a few days. TERRIBLE.

Description of Work: They packed,moved and unpacked us in very efficient way. The movers were pleasant and cleaned up after . They were expensive compared to other estimates but you get what you pay for.

Description of Work: Moved me out of and into my new apartment. The movers were professional, on time and they did a great job with a smile on their face. They couldn't have been nicer when one piece of furniture didn't fit in the elevator and they carried it up to the 8th floor. Would recommend without hesitation.

Description of Work: Move went well Both outbound and outbound employees were very professional and made a stressful time much more manageable.Communication was very good and they kept you advised throughout your move (out of state) Will use them again. Highly recommened

Description of Work: The subcontractors packed up apt and moved into storage. They left entire kitchen cabinets with items that I had to move manually. Also kept trying to upsell on boxes at a ridiculous price. They tried to strong arm me for a 20 percent tip halfway though the move. And we argued at the end about what was supposed to be in the move and tried to prevent me from calling FlatRate to contest some items. Would not work with these subcontractors again.

Description of Work: They moved us... And must have dropped a few boxes off the truck because in those boxes a lot was broken, including irreplaceable family heirlooms.

Description of Work: They came a few days early to pack for us. When they finished with the move, they asked us to sign that all our "stuff" had been delivered. Although we signed, as we unpacked days later, we found that all our stuff hadn't been delivered. Additionally my husband's TV, which had worked at our house, did not work in the apartment. Even worse, a book which had cut-outs in it, and in which I hid jewelry, did not make it to the new apartment. Many other items were missing. Eventually they offered a settlement for all the missing items which did not really come close to covering the cost of the items. They took no responsibility for the book with the jewelry which they said wasn't covered under the contract. I wouldn't use them again or recommend them for anybody to use.

Description of Work: I hired them to move from my apartment in Manhattan to my new home in MI. The guys who moved my things out were fast and still took great care to protect my things from damage. | |The driving crew arrived in MI within the expected date window, and arrived at my location at just the time they told me to expect them. It took 9 days from the time it departed NYC to arrive, but that included Christmas and New Year's so it's definitely reasonable. | |My things all arrived undamaged. One box was slightly crushed, but it was a box full of towels and other soft things and that's to be expected.
