AV Appliance Service

Our 25 year old refrigerator\freezer stopped working. Called AV Appliance, on Wed, Robert came out next day and fixed it in 60 minute. We have used Victor (father) for our old window air conditioners and Robert (Son) for our old GE Monogram refrigerator/freezer numerous times and have been extremely happy with their services. AV Appliance is truly an A+ rated Repair Company.

Service was punctual, technician wore a mask, washing machine was fixed!

Booked for appt 1-5 pm on following Monday. Never called, never showed up, When I called him at 4:50 he said he was running late, could get here maybe half hour or 45 minutes, so I cancelled.

Not good. He suspects it’s the transmission which costs $600. However he really didn’t check the real issue.

Great, I was able to get an appointment same day and was forewarned that I was being squeezed into their schedule. Client came at the end of the window, but it was the end of the day so I began to think they wouldn't make it; but they did! Looked at the fridge, ran some tests, was able to get it going again, but gave their recommendation that the compressor might be on it's way out and would not be worth replacing on my 15 year old fridge. Very satisfied with the work and would call again.

Great...Robert arrived on time. He was quite pleasant and professional and from the way I described the problem I was having he knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. He was here for about 20 minutes and I am very happy with the service and the results. Of course I hope never to have to deal with this situation again but if I did I would absolutely call AV again and highly recommend the company.

I am working with Av Appliance Service. Robert responded to my request for service and arrived at my house the same day I called him. He diagnosed the problem that I was having with 2 refrigerators. He arrived at my house early the next morning with the necessary parts and repaired both units efficiently and cleaned up before he left. I highly recommend him.

He is very unprofessional. He doesn’t know how to diagnose properly. Sends the wrong information. Took hours to work on each machine and two out of the 3 repair’s remain open and Un repaired till now. Three weeks....! He keeps saying I am coming I am waiting on parts let me call you back etc. Scam artist is what he is because I paid 350 dollars and he is gone. Angie list isn’t what it used to be. He also put wrong address to get closer business to NYC while he is actually from NJ. Buyers beware of scam!

The technician was very responsive on the phone, within the hour we received paperwork necessary for our building’s insurance requirements and he was soon at our door. He examined the refrigerator and knew right away what the problem was and he had the available replacement part. He installed it and the refrigerator was back up and running and working again like new. I couldn’t recommend their services, professionalism, dependability and responsiveness enough. AV appliances is excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate calling them again and again for our appliance needs.

repair person claimed on the phone that he knew how to repair dishwashers, but when he was here with the dishwasher it was clear that he was only competent to replace the appliance.

The work was done in a timely manner once necessary parts had been ordered. It was done very efficiently and they were very professional.

It was awesome - so quick and painless, was done in 30 minutes or so. The tech was great.

It went well we thought but today we discovered a gas leak. My husband & son in law are fixing it now.

My 5 year old Kitchen Aid refrigerator was making noise and things were freezing in the main compartment. Robert diagnosed the problem quickly and returned and installed the new part. Everything works fine now. Great job.

I echo an earlier review! Victor --the washing machine repair man--is a PRO! He came within the window arranged, telephoned 30 minutes earlier, left his shoes at the door, charged a reasonable amount ($80) for the house call (more of course) for the repair, diagnosed the repair quickly as the pump, and said he'd order the part, be back in a day or two. He was there the NEXT day, with a helper. This is a stacked washer/dryer and he and his helper took great care with the machines, and with cleanliness. Victor was a MASTER of experience and competence. He guaranteed his work for 90 days. The machine has been working nicely since. I hope to meet more repair folk like Victor--such knowledge and efficiency!

They responded quickly and followed up. I was given a two hour window for the following days repair. I was also called when they were 30 minutes away. The two repair persons were able to quickly diagnose the problem and disassemble, replace necessary parts and reassemble in a timely fashion. Clean work all around. Therefore I would certainly recommend AV.

well to start with. but for the second time the repair didn't take. this review is maybe 6 months after the original service call. Actually the second. they replaced coils this time, first time it was compressor if I recall correctly. Same thing happens every time. works for 6 months and then slowly dies. Obviously a slow leak of some kind but I'm spending money replacing things and nothing is getting solved. I don't know what to say. Sucks.

Responsive and responsible. Owner is Robert, his father Victor serviced our old Whirlpool-- he "grew up" with the older appliances. Fantastic outcome, he knew immediately--checked the two options he considered might be the problem and within an hour, all was working 100%. Very thorough, respectful of the surroundings, cleaned behind the stackable washer/dryer of old lint/dust, and altogether straightforward. Terrific and honest. Not inexpensive, but didn't take me for a ride either. That's worth a lot!

Victor showed up on time the day after we called to make the appointment. He quickly diagnosed and explained the problem (bad controller), made the repair, tested the oven, and thoroughly cleaned up after himself..

Very well. Robert also looked at the stove and determined that the ignition did not actually need fixing. He gave advice on other projects and indicated that they were not within his scope of work. Will use him again for plumbing work.

Robert was very professional, responsive and punctual in getting this repair done. Clearly explained what the issue was and the steps to repair it. Even set up a Saturday appointment in order to expedite the repair without charging extra for weekend work. Very reasonable rates. Would definitely call on Robert again for other work.
