OFFERING ECO-FRIENDLY MOVES INCLUDING 100% RECYCLABLE PACKING SUPPLIES. PACKING, CRATING, MOVING, STORAGE, LOCAL AND LONG DISTANCE.
WARNING. DO NOT USE. Driver backed the truck into our house trying to get unnecessarily close causing structural damage from impact. Also damaged landscaping and curbing. Owner‘s (Moti Bitton) only response was take pictures and call the office Monday. No apology. No offer for assistance. Have it all on video. Took two calls to the office to speak with co-owner (Dana Bitton) who after following her instructions replies with an email threatening to not submit the evidence and claim for the tens of thousands of dollars of structural damage to their insurance unless I clear my fifteen hundred dollar outstanding invoice from the move. Also no apology, curt and clearly no desire to provide any assistance. Mistakes happen but no excuse for poor training and unprofessional and rude ownership who mistreat their repeat customers. The test of a business and ownership is the response when mistakes happen. I can’t convince all to stay away from Arthur Werner but hopefully I will convince some.

Arthur Werner provided us with plastic crates. The other moving companies I interviewed required me to find and purchase my own boxes and then dispose of them. The plastic crates option is THE way to go! I didn't feel like I was wasting a complete forest of trees, the crates were very sturdy (no broken items) and, since I wanted the crates out of my house, they were the supreme motivation for unpacking within one week. The crew of movers, lead by Juan, were hard working and professional. Juan was very accommodating. We only had two minor hiccups - the box labels were hidden under stacks of crates, so we had to use post-its until we could locate them. And, the driver backed onto our wet grass which left some damage. Denzil agreed to remedy the cost without any hesitation. I felt this company was honest because they came in under their original quote. Now, who does that?! What a nice surprise! I would definitely use Arthur Werner if we had to move again.

They turned a highly stressful event as much as possible into a pleasant experience. They did not expect a deposit when the picked up our belongings. Only payment was made after everything was unloaded off their truck. They provided at no additional cost all the packaging paper, boxes, tape and blankets. They scheduled two days to pack but they adjusted their schedule adding a half day to accommodate our request to spend an extra night in our CT beds before departing for FL. The packing reschedule allow my wife and me along with our Black Lab/Border Collie dog Lucky to sleep in our own beds and avoid the hassle and expense of finding a dog friendly motel for an extra night. They scheduled their 1,000 mile trip to coincide with our drive south schedule. They departed CT and arrived at our new home in FL right on schedule. Unloading went as smoothly as could be expected considering we moved aver 300 boxes from a 2,500 sq ft, 10 room, 2 car garage with a 2,500 full size basement full of furniture, electronics, tools, laundry equipment, garden equipment, etc., into a 9 room, 3 car garage, hose with no basement. They easily handled the heavy items including a 3'x3'x4' 500 pound safe and a 3' circular 4' high kiln. shipping damage was very limited. A freezer chest and clothes dryer were slightly dented. One heavy decorative flower pot was broken. Minor items considering the scope of the job. We did not file a damage claim. There was a discrepancy in the billed amount vs. the not to exceed estimate quotation. We were dealing with the owner, Moti, did the original quotations and readily saw the billing discrepancy. He promptly issued a refund check.

Description of Work: I have used Arthur Werner 3 times for my moving and storage needs and every time they have been late to arrive and I only get a phone cal when they are on their way up the elevator. Denzel never returns phone calls on time and you have to chase him. Do yourself a favor and look for movers elsewhere. Three strikes and they're out.

It went well. The packing team of Zoltan and Tibol was very good. I could've had better moving/unloading staff on moving day. Few of them seemed disinterested and the others had to work harder to do the job. They finally finished moving us at 9:30 pm on the day of the move as promised. We tipped them decently and I hope the crew was happy. There was only 1 breakage in the whole move which I consider decent as we had a lot of things to be moved. Things they can work on to be improved would be : 1) using plastic / cloth sheets to cover the staircase carpets in both packing and receiving addresses to protect carpets/ -flooring -our carpets were in very poor shape with mud and dirt by the time they finished. 2) being completely professional by removing all nails and supports that are related to a piece of artwork and tape them near the artwork. Some nails/supports were packed and some weren't and we have had to pay for extra material to those who came to hang the artwork in the new home. 3) one mover specifically just hung around doing nothing ! Positives: 1)Gloria was very responsive- she was the estimator. 2) packing and moving were completed - albeit delayed - on the days promised. 3) the foreman was cheerful and was a pleasure to deal with - Zoltan. 4) Angie's list helped with a 10% discount on supplies. Hope this is helpful to others.

I cannot say enough good about these guys. I have numerous family heirlooms and antiques, and I asked them to take especially good care of them. They handled, packed and unpacked EVERYTHING as if it was special to me. They treated me and my brothers with respect, but they also treated my belongings with respect. They were courteous, professional, hard-working and personable. One even made a special effort to put things back exactly where he had found them. I can't imagine anyone doing anything better than Ken, Rich, Howard and Steve. I even had a long sofa bed that they tried for over an hour to get from the stairs into the apartment. It just couldn't be done, but they tried every possible thing they could think of (including taking it apart to see if it would fit by moving it in pieces) to get it in for me before they accepted that it just couldn't be done. Their attitude, care, speed, expertise, experience and thoughtfulness were just exceptional. You will never, ever regret hiring these guys.

Horrible, threw a fit because we asked for two quotes and our first client selected another company to work with. Getting quotes is part of moving and if someone is nasty for asking for a quote twice I'd rather one of the hundred other movers in the city. Totally unprofessional.

I had use Arthur Werner for my last move 4 years ago when I was a real estate salesperson at Rutenberg Realty, as they were the "Preferred vendor" for us to recommend to our clients. That move went well. This move was very disappointing. I had a coupon from Angie's List for two free months of storage from them, and I only needed 6 weeks of storage. I showed their rep my coupon when he came to give me my estimate. He told me to give it to the movers when they arrived--which I did. In spite of that, my credit card got billed the following for storage: One week of May/June storage: $523.62 July storage: $438.71 : that bill for the month of July got charged to my account on the day they were moving me out. I sent them photo of coupon again, and my email was ignored. My last move which had more items than this move, was under $2,000. This move was over $2,400 to storage, and over $2400 from storage. Plus almost $1000 in storage fees in spite of my coupon. In addition, they broke a $1000 Artemide lamp, a mirrored closet door, and a glass closet door. They glued the lamp after the metal arm sheared off--it will break off soon for sure. They took the mirrored door to repair, and I just noticed the glass door. The lead mover told me how exhausted he was from working so hard, and unfortunately it showed. I had asked them to be extra careful with these items, and they weren't. This was an extremely expensive move, and I feel like I am getting ripped off. I would not recommend Arthur Werner Moving & Storage to anyone.

For anyone considering hiring a moving company Arthur Werner Moving and Storage is the very LAST company you should consider. This past spring, my parents, who are 87 years old, hired the company to move them from their home to a nearby assisted living community--a distance of less than 6 miles. During the transition, the movers broke two glass tables by placing them on the bed of their bouncing truck with insufficient packing material. The tables were worth $3900. Accidents happen. We filed the damage report with Werner Moving, but instead of being a stand-up company, they did not return repeated emails and phone calls. You can imagine the stress this put on my elderly parents. In the end, the company reluctantly agreed to pay my parents $500.

Excellent service, Gustavo, Mark, Richard and Stefan were a friendly professional bunch who worked professionally, efficiently and carefully. They finished the move in good time and there were no casualties. The admin staff were also excellent, we had to reschedule the move a couple of times due to closing dates moving, they were easy to deal with. Gloria came out to the apartment to give the initial quote. She was also friendly, prompt and professional and the quote that she gave was fully honored. I would use Arthur Werner again and would fully recommend them to move your stuff, it was my best moving experience ever.

Moti and the entire Werner team, including the office staff, were a pleasure to deal with. We chose Werner bc they provided the most comprehensive estimate and made us feel like they has considered the full extent of the move. We moved a 5BR home. Werner sent an entire team the day of the move and got the job done as promised, on time and under budget. I would use them again in the future.

I have used Arthur Werner 8 times so far(both locally and long distance), and I can honestly say I have never had even one tiny issue. Actually, they have exceeded my expectations each and every time. The movers are professional, the rates are competitive, these guys don't waste time, and treat your items as if they were their own. I have also used their storage recently for our last move while we were showing our house to sell. Every single item that we got back was exactly as it was when we packed it. Heck - one of the movers actually helped me figure the placement of furniture in our new home - he has a much better eye than I do, apparently. I really cannot say enough about how happy I have been with Arthur Werner, and have referred them to family and friends who all have had the same exceptional experience that I have had. Thank you Denzel and team!
Description of Work: In our last move - Arthur Werner's crew moved large amount of household furniture and items into storage, then stored the items for 10 months. Then, when it was time to move, they moved the remaining items from our home to the new one, and the items from storage to our new home the next day. Everything was absolutely wonderful with these guys. And I have had 7 other similar experiences with them (one long distance), with the same level of satisfaction.

Perfectly. Prompt, efficient, careful, friendly and professional.
Description of Work: They had moved the bulk of our 3 bedroom apartment several months ago, from NYC to Rochester, NY. We had to move the rest and when we first called, Denzil advised us that it really wasn't cost efficient to use them for such a small load but he would put us on a list if another move in the same are came through Fortunately, it did and the move went as smoothly as the first. This time Jesus was the foreman unloading the truck and he was fantastic. Estaban was the second man and the two of them unloaded everything in under an hour. They are careful, polite, considerate, I really don't have enough positive adjectives to describe how great they were. I hope never to move again but would certainly use Arthur Werner if I did, do please, all you Angie's List readers, USE THEM!!!!!

They are wonderful. They came and packed for me and moved everything out in 1 day, as promised. My furniture was delivered in florida a day earlier than promised. all staff was great to work with, answering my myriad questions and clearly explaining all options. when some of my furniture was damaged in the move, Dana Bitton, President, was a pleasure to deal with. We spoke and she said that they didn't have people to make the repairs down in this part of florida. She gave me the choice of 1. Arthur Werner could pick up my furniture and take to new York and have it repaired. of 2. I could find a people here in Florida. I opted to find people to do the repairs here in florida. It took several months to findquality workmen and Dana Bitton reassured me that the claim was within the time frame and I did not need to worry. When I finally got the estimates and sent them to her, my check arrived in the mail in a week. Throughout the process, she was a great. I have rarely worked with such a fine company wiith such integrity. I would certainly use them again and am pleased to give them the highest recommendation. Thank you.

First of all, Denzil Davis was patient, encouraging, and comforting all-around. He had given me a verbal rough estimate over the phone when I first called. When he came to do the on-site visit the estimate was lower, and when we finished the move they came in even lower than the estimate! Gustavo was the head of the crew that moved us. I had read his rave reviews on line and told him how happy I was that he was leading the move. He lived up to his reputation -- and so did everyone else on the team. They estimated a four-person team but added an extra person at no extra charge. It certainly made things go quickly. At one point we realized they had loaded something on the truck that had a sign on it to leave it in the apartment. we told them it didn't really matter -- we travel regularly back and forth to the house so we could have brought it back -- but they immediately went back and got it off the truck and apologized profusely. When the movers neared our destination they called us to ask if they could move in earlier than the 9 am time we had agreed on. That was great for us. They said between 7 and 8, and arrived in that range. The staircase they needed to use is off of a narrow hallway. We have a large armoire and once I saw the situation I was convinced it would never fit and told them it would be fine to leave it downstairs. They were not to be deterred!!! After a little finagling (including moving a shelf in the closet across the hall from the staircase) they managed to get the armoire upstairs. When they got to the top landing, they accidentally ripped a bit of carpet. They immediately asked me to look at it -- I'm guessing to arrange some sort of repair -- but the carpet is 50 years old and there's no way I was going to hold them responsible. The team was also incredibly patient about arranging the furniture, and rearranging it. We kept telling them it was ok to leave it where it was because we could move most of what we wanted to by ourselves, but they insisted they were there to help until we were satisfied. The move was finished before noon! Everything was in good condition -- even a worthless old chest that I told them not to worry about -- it had a loose leg which I expected to fall off but they wrapped it so carefully it arrived intact. They never once complained about any of the challenges they had to deal with. When I chose Arthur Werner I confess that I never even got a second estimate. I had almost used them once a few years ago but in the end didn't need to make the move I had called them about. I had read all their reviews, and loved the idea of the eco-bins (though we couldn't take advantage of them because of the long-distance move). There was something about them that just instilled confidence in me, and I was not disappointed. They completely met my expectations and I would definitelyuse them again.
Description of Work: We had to empty most of our furniture from our 3 bedroom elevator building apartment in Manhattan in order to sell the apartment. We were moving it upstate to a small 2-story house -- mostly into two small bedrooms up a narrow staircase.

I feared a moving horror story like previous moves. This move was a dream! They were first to call back and arrange an in house estimate most ask for inventory online but they still need to come in person so it's a bit of a waste. Prompt, clear no hidden anything. They have a binding estimate no hidden costs for extra boxes or whatever. Four guys came promptly at 8 and were done by 3p including packing us and unpacking furniture. It was awesome! Less than estimate because they were faster than expected despite stairs and travel to truck. Hire them!!!!

It went very well. I was happy with all phases of the move. When I first contacted Arthur Werner to get a cost estimate they were very responsive, more so than other movers I contacted. They were prompt, very careful in moving all items, so there was no damage in the process. They also use eco boxes, which I like, since there is less waste. They called a few weeks after our move to pick up the eco boxes, but we needed more time, which they were happy to oblige. I would definitely recommend Arthur Werner to friends & family.

It went as well as I could have hoped, overall a very satisfactory experience. I had pre-packed mostly everything in the home, apart from furniture. There were the odd bits that weren't packed and they were nice enough to box it up for me along the way. The team of 4 guys were able to pack the entire 1600sq foot house very quickly and efficiently. There were a few specific pieces that were tricky, including two glass desks an an upright piano; they were very attentive to these pieces and knew how to handle them. All and all, everything was done 100% as promised and as expected. Nothing broke, they were very respectful and organized. Never a worry. Highly recommended, would absolutely call them again.

I engaged this company after reading the good reviews here. It started out well enough. The estimator came in $500 under the other two companies I contacted. I was told all of my furniture would be blanket-wrapped and they were very accustomed to moving antiques and collectibles (which comprise 85% of my things). I was told that moving out of my apartment would take 3 hours, driving to my new home 3 hours and unloading 2 hours. When I expressed my doubts about this time frame, he said the movers were professionals (a phrase I heard through out this ordeal that proved to be rather untrue). Apparently I am the first customer to ever express concern about how my possessions were being handled. The three movers arrived on time the day of the move and I thought we were off to a great start. And that's when it all went downhill quickly. Although the foreman and the driver were polite, the the third man was visibly angry at the amount of furniture and boxes of fragile items to be moved and complained to the foreman that another man was needed. When a fourth mover was not forthcoming he announced his displeasure at every opportunity and was rude to me several times. If he does not like his job then he should seek other employment; not be rude to the customer! I paid for and expected professional behaviour. Moving out of the apartment took 5.5 hours. The drive to my new home took them 4 hours and unloading 2.5 hours. All of the furniture was NOT blanket-wrapped; only those pieces on which I paid extra insurance. The other pieces of furniture were wrapped in saran wrap which resulted in numerous scratches, chips and nicks on all. I had meticulously labeled and numbered all of the boxes I packed. I'm not sure what part of "L=Livingroom, B=Bedroom, K=Kitchen and Extremely Fragile, Antique China, Please Do Not Place Anything on this Box" was difficult to understand. I specifically asked that my TVs, a large glass-framed piece of Egyptian art and hand-painted scrolls be unwrapped last. I had paid extra insurance and for special boxes for these items. So guess which pieces were unwrapped first? The gold leaf on the Egyptian piece was scratched, scrolls dumped in the corner of a bedroom and TVs left exposed as the majority of items were still being brought in. Two bentwood chairs that were not in good shape to begin with were in much worse shape after the moving; the repairs cost $100. There was also a chip made on the kitchen entry of my new freshly-painted home and various marks left on the walls due to carelessness. One of the new plastic storage boxes I bought was damaged as were two pairs of shoes. Good thing the 88 boxes I packed myself were done as if they were being shipped via parcel post to Mars or there would have been even more damages. The one box of breakables that the "professionals" packed revealed three damaged pieces (antique china gravy boat-badly chipped, vintage glass cakestand-completely broken, vintage metal heated casserole-lid bent). The boxes were piled 4 or 5 high without regard as to fragility or necessity with the labels facing in which meant I was forced to shift boxes much too heavy for me to find anything. I would think common sense would dictate that boxes marked "Glass" or "Essential-Open First" would not be placed at the bottom of the stack! I had packed all the boxes I purchased online from a box company so I paid for additional new boxes; many were previously used and then my things were taken out so they could be reused on another job. I was told I had only "rented" the boxes after the fact. Finally the foreman said the truck was empty. As it had been a very long day with temperatures in the upper 80s and the men had worked hard I gave them each a $40 tip. (Mr. Malcontent could not even be bothered to say thank-you!) The foreman asked me to sign the receipt and state that everything was ok so he could call in the charge to my credit card. I complied only to find out in the next few days that my ironing board, curtain rods, a box of photographs and some parts from my gym equipment did not make it off the truck. Two months later and I'm still sorting through the chaos of boxes and unpacking so I do not actually know if anything else is missing or broken. Moving is always stressful and moving companies in general seem to have well-deserved poor reputations. And this experience was no exception. Considering how much money I paid, I and my possessions should have been treated with more respect. UPDATE 10-24-14: Forgot to mention above that my refrigerator door was damaged somehow; it doesn't close properly. I finally finished unpacking. A framed OOAK artwork also MISSING. And a vintage handpainted Israeli Passover plate that belonged to my mother which managed to arrive to the US intact and was also shipped via USPS from FL to NY unbroken only to be carelessly handled by these movers and is now IRREPARABLY DAMAGED! It was in a box which was marked FRAGILE GLASS ANTIQUES and at the BOTTOM of a stack of boxes. I have revised my review to F. A truly horrible experience!

Our scheduling was a little complicated, since we had to be out of our old house well before we would be able to get into the new house, but not long enough to justify storing our stuff. They were very willing to work with shifting schedules and a longer-than-usual span between pickup and delivery. They gave us a delivery date range, and our only complaint is that it would have been great to know a little farther in advance when they would actually arrive. But there was a weekend in there, and it wasn't a big deal. The estimator, Larry, was friendly and professional, and pointed us in the right direction for finding the cheapest moving boxes. He did not try to upsell us into getting them to pack or provide moving supplies--quite the opposite, in fact, which I appreciated. Their estimates are ceilings: they will not charge you more than the estimate, which another company we looked at could have done. The loading crew was quick and professional. They brought two trucks (smaller ones, not the huge ones), in line with the estimate, but the truck packer was so good, they only needed one, even with a piano and large woodworking tools. The unloading guys were from a moving company local to our new home, but the driver was from Arthur Werner, and he was friendly and efficient. Fast, careful, and friendly all 'round.
Description of Work: They moved us from Long Island, NY, to northeastern Ohio. We had a 4-bedroom house.
