Description of Work: Had some stumps ground up in my back yard. Only thing I wish was done differently is being able to schedule a time. I was working overnights and sleeping when they came to do the work (around noon); wished they stopped over earlier in the morning. So my sleep was disrupted a little. Other than that they did a very good job.

Description of Work: With some of the largest equipment in the Rochester, NY area, they cut down several large locust and pine trees from the top(!!) Crane, bucket truck, tracked vehicles. I have a very hilly and remote location and needed this unique treatment. Description of Work: They removed a very, very large dying Austrian Pine tree which was situated in between our house and another tree. They were able to use impressive equipment, including a huge crane, to cut the tree into parts from the top down, flying the parts out of the way of the other tree and house as they went. All parts and debris were removed, topsoil added, and ground planted with grass seed. Great job. Since they were there, I also had them trim dead wood out of a maple, and trim another tree so that it no longer overhangs the roof. I would definitely recommend them for tree removal. I will continue to use my usual tree service for tree trimming.

Description of Work: They cut down 3 trees, remove stumps. Trim and shape 8 trees. They did ok job. One tree barely touched. It was not shaped right, it is out of balance. Tire ruts left. $200 in grass seed needed to repair stump grinding damage.

Description of Work: Diagnosed a disease on our ornamental cherry tree and gave us an estimate on some tree trimming. We weren't prepared to spend the amount for the tree trimming at this time. He was very helpful in giving us pointers on what to do with the cherry tree to treat the condition, which he stated appeared to be a bacterial infestation. He was very professional, punctual, and helpful.

Description of Work: They came out to do an estimate. I expected the price paid to cover the job, but it was estimated adding $250.00 more. So in essence, I paid $500 for a $600 job. I will not pay up front without an estimate for anything again.

Description of Work: We need to please obtain a refund for this purchase. How can we do this? It was an unsatisfactory experience. The office coordinator did not coordinate the appointment well for an estimate so the boss came to the wrong location. When he did he walked on to the property without 1st knocking to let us know he was there, even though both cars were obviously home. It was the incorrect property. We own two properties, and the office manager was given the address very clearly by us for the estimate, and that we would even come there at the time of the estimate that the Angie's list deal was bought for. Ironically this party had given us an estimate on the property he came to by mistake in the recent past. We did not go with him as his estimate was way beyond any others we had gotten in the past. If I had realized it was he who we bought the Angies list deal from I would have never bought the deal! This time his estimates once he got to the correct property were again out of sight high, and he did not listen to the very specific things we asked to be done, but instead made up his own list. It was clear that the $400 off was a joke. It took a while to get him to zoom in on what we wished to have done (several days, and he had to return to the property). His estimate was $2400 for an hour of work (his office manager said our job was so small that it would only take an hour). WE obtained 2 other estimates when this estimate came in, and took the higher of the 2, which was $760 and the work was completed in less than 2 hours by a team of 3, done professionally without fuss or huge fanfare. This team even cut the maple wood into firewood size for use in a wood burning stove w/o extra charge. The $760 was a senior citizen discount of either 15% or 20%, at the moment I cannot recall which. I would advise those who are insured can be found who will do a great job for much less than JM Tree! This was a very small property that involved 1 stump to be ground, and a group of thin sapplings to be cut out, and limbs off three maple trees, and two of the maples, to be cut to the fense height. There was one tree that was dead to come out in its entirity that turned out was so rotten that all it took was a gentle pull. The guy we went with smiled and said no charge for this one, no cut was required, and it was so light, one person easily carried it out to throw into the truck. This team was hard working, and honest! They carefully checked in to be sure they got all the trees we wanted, and took the greatedst care with grounding the stump. JM said he ahd to use a bucket to get the high up limbs. the other team had a climber, who scaled up the trees with ease, and cut in like manner. This team has been working together for 20-30 years. Their cuts were precise, limbs fell exactly where they said they would, and the work could not have gone smoother!

They left a lot of ruts and holes in the yard, but it was very wet still so I get that. They were going to bring over some dirt to fill in the holes, but that never happened, so I ended up doing it myself. Also, we had a framed bocce pit that got hammered as it was under one of the trees that got trimmed. I've been cleaning that up too. I guess not much that could have been done about that. But overall they cleaned up the trees nicely.
