Fred has been servicing our two cars for about 10 years. I am satisfied with all the services received over the years and, most importantly, I trust them. Having dealt with various auto mechanics over 40 years, I can state that Fred is the most knowledgeable auto professional that I have known, and they get it right the first time. Highly recommend them!

I love Fred's Auto! They are the best!! They are always very professional. They put up with me dropping in with small stupid problems and no appointment. They help me when I have large problems. They always do their best to make it economical for me to have my car repaired. I would travel out of my way in order to have the people at Fred's Auto look at my care. I wouldn't trust anyone else! They are a happy, honest, professional group!

There are two things in life that are extraordinarily hard to find in terms of service professions... a great doctor, and a great mechanic. Both of them a people that you are going to need for a lifetime essentially. Both of them are people you are going to with somethig that you know next to NOTHING about despite what you may think and that's OK. As long as you can find ones that you can trust. Freds Auto Repair in Briarcliff Manor is beyond reproach. I do NOT vouch for people lightly. I am not a very trusting person. Less so as I approach 50 years old and have been to far too many service professionals. Ask Fred about the iPhone vidoeo he once showed me of my "previously installed" brake pad that was essentially dangling around in there on my Saab. Fred, Ken, Tom and whomever is vetted through them is who you trust. Because the ast time I was at a quick lube location in a location I wil not name, the policase were being called because an employee was banging on a customer's car with some metal tool. My wife wanted me to take it there because it was close. I walked in and then out - feeling like my life was more at risk than anything else and that I might actually NEED both an auto mechanic and a doctor simultaneously. I quickly called Tom at Fred's Auto Repair in Briarcliff. I usually hang out and chat while they service the car - or we drop it off the night before. These guys are true gems.

It worked out fine. I liked it very much. It was very reasonably priced to have that done. It worked out good. I'm very happy with them. They did a good job but they didn't replace the radiator cap. I had a leak. They took care of me right away. They delivered as promised.

It went extremely well. The team at Fred's is excellent. Highly recommend them to anyone in the Briarcliff and Ossining area. They explain everything to you!

Overall: great job, came in under estimate (shocking), and explained everything. I even brought some parts and they installed them for me. Normally mechanics won't do that. I had bought them in another state (my mistake). Next time, I'll source all parts via Fred's. I would recommend and will work with them in the future. I like they use email to send quotes. Final, a mechanic in the 21st century. I had previous used a mechanic shop that rushed through tasks and badly damaged my car. I have a 9 year old car that needed some serious engine repair, and after almost 2 months of the major repair, NOT a single issue. Awesome. I wanted to wait before I posted my review, since overall it went quite well. These guys are A+.

They changed my oil and checked my brakes and motor. They fixed everything. They are very good and professional. I have went to them before in the past for my father's car and they changed the battery on his car. They have been around for a long time and they explain things to you about what they are doing and why. They are friendly and convenient because you can sign up for appointments online. The price was fine for what they did.

the car was ready sooner than i had expected, since there had been no appointment made with the car detailing service. i had originally thought the scratches had to be painted over, but upon discussing it with tom, it was decided to have the detailing service buff them out. it was a good call, as the car looks new. what is really the best about freds automotive is that they listen to me and go over my concerns. i feel heard. they dont talk down to me, they talk to me. they dont go for the most expensive solution. they are practical. yes, i recommend them. absolutely.

Fred's Auto was WONDERFUL!!!! The mechanics and the gentlemen in the office were very professional and super nice. I knew that I needed at least two new tires (since they both kept going flat and I could see cracks in them). I asked them if I needed four new tires and they did not try to sell me anything that I did not need. They told me that two tires were okay and that only two needed to be replaced. They had the car ready on time and it was fast. I wound up owing less money than I had originally expected. I had made the appointment to visit them, and then I got a reminder email of my appointment. I've never received that from a car repair shop before. Fred and his staff were so helpful and friendly, I would recommend this establishment to all of my neighbors and friends!

Very professional, they have a service manager in front office that takes care of customers. Called, got a quote for work to be done and made appointment, work was done within quote given and also advised that something I thought I needed to be done was not necessary. All in all, a pleasant experience.

I brought my Toyota Tacoma truck here for the first time. I always had it dealer serviced believing that I would get the best and knowledgeable service as well as if parts are replaced, they would be Toyota OEM parts. But I was wrong. I had a vibration in the truck that was getting progressively worse over time. This occurred when I was driving at 30mph and above and I was concerned that eventually I would get stuck. I had some mechanical experience when I was younger, like in the 70's, working on my 65 Pontiac GTO, but the vehicles of today are much more difficult and time consuming for me to work on them today. My first thought on the vibration was the drive shaft. I checked it myself and found that the grease fittings on the drive shaft were completely dry, like they were never greased. I brought it to Toyota North and they confirmed that the drive shaft was a problem and needed to be replaced for $1800.00. I asked them why they didn't grease it during service and they told me that it wasn't part of the service. I checked later in the maintenance schedule and it was in fact part of the schedule. Needless to say, I decided to bring my truck to Fred's and it was the best decision I could possibly make. Fred told me that the universals which are a connection of the drive shaft to the rear differential (rear end) needed to be replaced. He told me it would cost $190.00! Big difference from $1800. Then he told me that the rear brakes needed adjustment as well as the power steering pump needed a flush. BTW, Toyota wanted to replace my pump for over $500. And Toyota didn't tell me about the brake adjustment despite me having them service it weeks before I brought my truck to Fred's. All told, Fred charged me $561 for all the repairs and the truck works great! I told him he has a new customer for all my future service. I also have a brand new Subaru that will be serviced by him as well. He's honest, the quality of the work is superior to Toyota and the price is right in line where it should be. Glad I found him on AL. He's getting these A ratings for a reason. And I can say this due to my past mechanical experience with vehicles.

Another great find from Angie's list. I was really pleased with the service. I felt it was thorough but honest. Also very professional. I love the emailed estimates. Also - the car handles much better now -can't argue with results. Fred is my new go-to mechanic.

Their prices are good, service is great and the workers are excellent.

Scheduling was convenient; dropped the car off in the morning, they called a little while later with the description of the problem and the cost and time to fix it. I gave the go ahead and it was done when they said. Just like that.

Overall, they were great. Very responsive, thorough and honest. They follow up w/ me to remind me when it's time to have my oil changed again and they do everything they can to make things convenient for me and make sure I don't have to wait long. I would recommend them to everyone in the area.

Fred did the work himself and found the problem. At first because I did not tell him about electrical issues so he thought it was the motor. Ordered the part but then found out that it was an electrical issue. He worked very h****** this problem and tI think did not charge for some hours worked on the issue. Was very nice and very professional. Even called after to make sure every thing was working well.

They are exceptional, so we continue to use them. They are trustworthy. They have been in business for a long time and have earned their trust in the community. Their price is definitely fair. Their quality is good. We will use them again in the future if we needed to.

They were good in whatever they did. They were expensive but they were good at least. We could rely on them. They know what they are doing. It is a problem to get your car repaired and trust somebody. They were good in the service they gave. We may use them in the future.

He is a great mechanic, and does a great job working on my car, which is quite old. He's extremely honest and reliable. He's accommodating, but confident in his work. All around, he's a very professional, personable mechanic. His staff is just as good. The facilities are up-to-date; he has the state-of-the-art equipment.
