Description of Work: James Nixon designed my stone house at 23 Birch Drive, Brewster, NY. I have now lived in the house a year, and the house exceeds what I'd hoped for. I love the layout, and it functions perfectly for my needs. I feel so lucky to have encountered Mr. Nixon, and to have worked with him to create this home. He listened to me so well, and together we worked to create the design. It was truly a partnership. I've rarely encountered anyone who could listen and adjust so well. He used his expertise to steer me in the ways I wanted to go, not to steer me as he thought best without regard for my wishes. A very rare talent.

Description of Work: James Nixon designed a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house that was built from beginning to end, including supervising the foundation pouring, installation of drainage system, new septic system, and contracting. He is very easy and pleasant to work with - listens well, and was very responsive to what I wanted and hoped for. It was truly a collaborative relationship, and we ended up with something better than either of us expected. He is patient, calm, kind, and has a great sense of humor. He has a circle of experts to consult with, and isn't afraid to ask for more expert opinions on areas he's not intimately familiar with. The site challenges were severe at times, and we surmounted them admirably.
