John explained in detail what would be done to repair my Ethan Alan pine dining room set over the phone even before seeing it! He and his son picked up the set, and expertly removed a kitchen cabinet drawer to take with them to ensure the stain color was exactly what I wanted. The original set was stained antique pine, and the finished product was changed to a new look of black legs with cherry seats and table top. He also repaired a leg and removed very deep scratches that our cats had made over the years. The result was outstanding! I don't think it looked this good when it was purchased over forty five years ago! The job was labor some and took hours, indicative of John's perfectionist nature. COVID 19 did create some waiting time issues, but that was understandable. I highly recommend John for any furniture refinishing, and am sure that I will be using his services again.

John came to our house with his son, They took the chairs to their business in Bohemia and when they refinished the chairs, they returned them to our home. Christopher Ryan is a great service and John is very personable.

John saved us from buying a new Dining Room Set which is no where the quality of the one we have.

As part of the process of a recent kitchen makeover my husband and I opted to have our kitchen cabinets refaced rather than replaced. Because the refacing company was unable to supply the range hood we needed, we ordered a custom cherry range hood from a cabinet dealer. We than had to locate a furniture refinisher who would be able to stain the range hood to match our refaced cabinets. After reviewing the contractors on Angie?s List we chose Ryan Christopher?s Ltd. Furniture Refinishing Company. We subsequently met with John and explained what we needed done. After a couple of trials he mixed a stain that we agreed was a close match. After we visited his shop and signed off on the stain color, he completed the project which is pictured below. John did a superb job and created a furniture quality piece which was a perfect match for our kitchen cabinets. He also stained cherry molding for our counter tops and made two spindles needed for our cabinets. John is a true craftsman and is extremely knowledgeable and meticulous with his work. I would not hesitate to recommend John Neville for any job that involves furniture repair or refinishing. In the near future, we also plan to have John refinish our kitchen table and bench to match our new kitchen.

We purchased a raw dining table top and wanted it finished to match our new kitchen cabinets. First, we visited Ryan Christopher's shop to see some of their work. Then, John visited our home to see the table and give us an estimate. He took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do to give us the finished product we had hoped for. He created color samples for us to approve (he nailed it the first time around), and he picked up the table for finishing. When the finished table arrived a couple of weeks later, we could not have been happier. Except for one thing. It looked better than our cabinets, which were custom made by someone else. So we loaded our cabinet doors into John's van and he took them back to his shop to make them look like the table. A bit of extra expense that was well worth it. The table and cabinets are absolutely beautiful and the room looks amazing, thanks to John. This guy is a true artist and craftsman. He knows his stuff and he takes great pride in his work. When you deal with John you know that he truly wants you to be happy with your project and he will do whatever he can to deliver the best. John's commitment to doing it right is a rare pleasure in today's "cut corners" world!!!

John stripped & refinished the top of my very badly damaged table top. The result is beautiful! The table looks better than it did when it was new. John is very knowledgeable about his craft & he produced an amazing product! I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again! ****Unfortunately I have to update my review. After only a few months the finish started to peel. I contacted John in the beginning of April & he said that he was very busy so use the table & he would pick it up when he got a chance. After hounding him for months, he finally picked the table up on July 2nd. I was told that "to was almost done... it will be a couple more weeks" numerous times before the table was FINALLY re-delivered on September 26th... that's almost 6 months after being told about the problem & almost 3 months with no kitchen table. After John left, I examined the table & the extension leaf (which is ALWAYS in the table) is dyed a different color that the rest of the table. It looks horrible but I don't have the stomach to deal with this company anymore!!! Beware!!!

The items were picked up, after going over the details of the work we wanted done. John has a great eye for detail and was able to help us with the choices we needed to make with great results. We went to his shop for the stain color selection which was tested on the stripped cabinets. He was very patient with us while we tried to decide what stain color and finish worked best. The results were fantastic!! He worked with our schedule to get the items delivered back to us for our contractor to install. We will be using John for any future furniture re-finishing. We are very happy with results.

Overall, I love looking at my new table. PS, I have not let anyone sit at it yet, the weather is great, we eat outside.

The chairs came back in perfect condition. The new upholstery job is perfect and the chairs are beautiful--better than new. It shows that John put a lot of time in to making our furniture perfect. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and explains in detail what is going to be done.

Called fro info on finishing dining set. Absolutely satisfied with his knowledge and professionalism. Will definitely have him do the work welhen we are ready.

Took apart 6 dining room chairs and refinished them with a cherry finish. Chair seats also reupolstered. Beautiful work; chairs look like new.

I have yet to experience the finished job, but if he picks the desk up as he said on Saturday and gives me a correct day when he will return the desk refinished and drawer repaired, then I will be able to say more.

After telling John what I needed over the phone, he came to my house to give me an estimate. He had a can-do attitude and was upfront about what could and couldn't be done. He took the drawers with him and told me the work should be completed in two weeks and that he would call me to set up a time to come back. After two weeks passed, I called him because I hadn't heard from him. I left a message which wasn't returned and so I called again a day later. This time he answered and said it would be another week before the work was completed. He did not offer an explanation for the delay and I did not ask. I had gotten the impression he was a busy person and I am a patient person. Approximately a week later, John called me and we set up an install date. He arrived promptly. He performed the work satisfactorily. The drawers work fine with one minor exception. One of them still rubs against the wood and creates sawdust which lands on my pots and pans. However, it is far less sawdust than what it was before, so I can live with it. The kitchen cabinets are old and I don't expect them to perform as if they were new. The shelf that he repaired seems solid. The repairs that John did are a big improvement. I'm glad that he took on the project because it buys me more time before I have to replace the cabinets entirely. I believe that other contractors would have told me I should just buy all new cabinets or they would have charged me a lot more than he did. He seems knowledgeable and versatile about woodwork and repair and I would use him again.

He is very professional and his prices are reasonable considering the work that he did.

Mr. Christopher was very good. He examined the piece, a warped end board for a new oak bed and gave us an estimate that was the same final price. He rebuilt and restored the endboard for a price that was reasonable and did professinal work that was done quickly and beautifully. He treated our furniture with great care and made it look like new. We will use him again and have alread recommended him to several of our friends and family.

I found Ryan Christopher on Angie's list, highly recommended. I called, made an appointment and he came at the time scheduled. He explained the problem with the glue on the chairs, took all 8 to his workshop, and said it would take approximately two weeks to complete the job. it took less than that, 12 days. He delivered the repaired chairs at the appointed time. They look beautiful, they are sturdy and will, I'm sure, last a lifetime. His price was reasonable for the work he did (it included pick up and delivery charges) and I am happy to recommend him to anyone who is in need of quality furniture repair. In fact, I have already recommended him to a friend who has two chairs in need of repair.

Perfect... So meticulous he wrapped the chair up in a blanket that I had brought so it would not get scratched while in my car.

John Nievelle, the man who refinished my table, is an expert and he is truly an artist. He takes his time, but he does it right. In my opinion, it is worth waiting worth for. I originally purchased the table for $400 and I have had people offer me $8000 for it, so that tells you how good his work is.
