Perfectly. We honestly could not have been luckier in finding him. We are extremely pleased with how everything turned out and there has not been a single issue now that we are moved in and functional. The work is beautiful and exactly to our specifications. He was courteous, professional, responsive, and knowledgable. I underline all of these things because we have worked with many other vendors on our home and he was far and away the shining example of what you look for in a general contractor. His technical expertise is exceptional - anything we asked him, he had an answer or guidance on the optimal and cost-efficient way to approach. One thing we really appreciated about AJ was his availability by text or phone. He is very quick to get back to you when you reach out, and that was important to us. Even after the work was completed, we had a few questions and he responded immediately. He gave us suggestions/recs on other professionals to use (HVAC) and we have been very pleased with them as well. He takes his role very seriously and is concerned with making his clients happy. He provided a detailed, line item contract. There were absolutely no surprises along the way. Everything was discussed before the work started, including the smaller add-ons as we went along. We will work with AJ and his team (who are also the utmost professionals) on anything more we do to our home. He is a gem and we recommend him unequivocally.

From start to finish the project the went very well. I had contacted a total of 5 contractors for quotes. 2 contractors showed up and never called me back (from Home Advisor site) and of the remaining 3 (from Angie's List), Babylon Bay Construction was the only contractor that gave me a rough estimate cost of initial project the same day they came out. From the initial consultation with sales rep, the architectural plans, getting permit/variance and the necessary paperwork processed with the town, Babylon Bay Construction helped with every step of the way. Once the project was under way, AJ Shupack, scheduled his workers. They were there when he said they would be. The workers were always on time, courteous and extremely professional and left everything clean and in order. All workers did a great job. I knew absolutely nothing of what this type of project would cost nor the components involved. Luckily, a family relative manages a large upscale residential building in Manhattan. He is an expert in dealing with contractors and knows everything there is about construction, electrical, plumbing, etc, etc. and all the associated costs involved. He was an invaluable resource. Everything Babylon Bay quoted, my wife and I ran by him. He verified that Babylon Bay's pricing was honest and fair for our quoted project. That put our my minds at ease, that we were dealing with an honest company. They did their best to stay within our budget for what was quoted. There were a few unexpected issues that came up, not on original quotes, e.g. rotted wood under old front siding needing to be replaced, redirection of main a sewer line away from new foundation area was needed in order to secure permits with town. I received fair quotes for these items as well. Babylon Bay Construction was honest and fair and did quality work through and through. I would use them again for future projects and I would recommend them to others who may need work done on their homes.

Now our home renovation job wasn't minor... we were literally rebuilding the entire outside of the house, re-sizing and replacing all 32 CUSTOM windows, creating reverse gables from scratch to change the exterior look, building out a brand new bathroom, renovating another bathroom, building a new walk-in closet, and demolishing and rebuilding an entirely new kitchen. That scope of work is INSANE for people who've never owned a house before. It was a really overwhelming (and not cheap) project to undertake, so if I'd known what it entailed upfront I'm not sure we would have gone through it, BUT AJ really guided us through everything and he had so many chances to rip us off (due to our ignorance about the process), but that NEVER happened. The man is so honest and so transparent and all of his workers are the same way. He's built a good business and he should be proud. My husband and I would highly recommend AJ and Babylon Bay to ANYONE for ANY JOB large or small.

AJ (The owner) is extremely responsive via email, text and phone calls. He came when ever he said he would on time to do an estimate etc. We called him back 3 times because we kept changing our minds about the project or what we wanted done and he was always gracious enough to come back and re do the estimate. He answered all our questions with honesty and integrity. We could not have asked for a better contractor. His guys are also top shelf. Eddie did amazing work on the doors and molding. This is NOT an easy house to work on due to age etc and he did everything we asked and more. He seemed to genuinely want to do a great job and wanted our feedback. Giovanni also did an amazing job doing the spackling and finishing touches. They cleaned up each day after they were done working and even with all the snow we had during this project they cleaned up after themselves outside. We could not recommend this company more and will be using them again in the future for a bigger project. Great company.

Provider is WAY out of price range...like $4500. more than other estimates.

AJ was a very patient contractor who put up with a lot of negatives along the way that were mostly imposed by our mortgage company. We had problems with permits taking forever (about a month) and getting clear to build due to things out of our control, but once we started, the main frame of the new bedroom along with additional foundation support were nearly done in a week. After that, splitting a room, adding a hallway, and wiring the area went relatively quickly. Converting to gas and adding HVAC did not take long either. We just finished the work by mid-November and we are very pleased. Every one that was either part of his crew or subcontracted did amazing work and were extremely professional and nice.

This company was very professional from the start to finish. There were delays with the starting date due to unforeseen problems on their part but compensation was made by them. This portico is a wonderful addition to my home and its curb appeal. I have had many complements, even before it was completed. I can't say enough about my relationship with this company.

AJ of Babylon Bay made this the easiest and most satisfying renovation we have ever done. Having gotten estimates from 3 Angie's List GC's; I found AJ to be the most thorough and informed of the bunch. His estimate was very detailed so there was no mistaking what was going to be done. From a pricing standpoint all the estimates were within a few hundred dollars. AJ had Eddie as the lead guy on the job and it worked out great as he has an eye for detail, which made me extremely happy! All the work was performed quickly and professionally. Even though there was a lot of ripping out and movement of materials, the areas were always left clean at the end of the day and no damage was done to the surrounding areas. This was no small feat given the confines of the entry way and stairway leading up to the guest suite! AJ stopped by just about every day, and if he didn't he called to check up on things. Like any major project, there is always a bump or two. In my mind this is often where it separates good from great. I'm happy to report that in each instance that I had a question or concern it was quickly and favorably dealt with. GREAT customer satisfaction! He also worked to coordinate his work crew with our needs to have carpeting and wallpapering done at various steps along the way. We now have a restored guest suite with a gorgeous new bath ( thanks Carlos ) and garage that's once again useable. There is absolutely no doubt that I would use Babylon Bay in the future and recommend them to friends and family!

The job was done perfectly. Looks beautiful. AJ, the owner was honest, professional and courteous. His crew was polite and dedicated to their job. We felt extremely comfortable having them work in our house. We would highly recommend them and hire them again without hesitation. It was a great experience.

AJ came promptly when scheduled, with one minor reschedule. He understood that it was going to be a bunch of little stuff plus one bigger job taking out a kitchen and replacing it with desk and shelves. His assistant Eddie understood just what we were asking for and they did it in a timely fashion. There was one minor miscommunication, but it was resolved with no problem. We were very happy and will hire them again to do some roofing work.

It went great, A day to demo the existing stairs, and get the new ones built. About a half day more for finishing up the job. The new stairs are bomb proof. Very solidly built.

He was very honest and gave me advice on saving money and the best way to utilize the project. He seemed to do quality work and I felt comfortable with him.

Babylon Bay did an excellent job on our room renovation. The guys were very clean, professional and friendly. They showed up on time, worked full days, and got the job done in the time allotted as well. They transformed a dingy, unfinished storage room into a bright, airy and fun playroom for my kids. My daughters were so excited to see the finished product. Sorry its taken me a while to write this review, almost a year - but this past year my girls and their friends have gotten lots of good use out of this room - and their toys aren't all over the house any more!! I would definitely recommend them. Matter of fact, I'm calling them today for a bathroom renovation :)

Contractor was thorough in the inspection and quick to complete the work at the price quoted

This house is 40 years old . It had the original doors ,windows ,siding. It was time to replace all these items. We had 3 estimates. The first estimate was a low price, but they did not even measure the house. The second estimate was much much higher. The third estimate was with Babylon Bay Construction. AJShupack is the owner of the company , he is very professional . He was the ONLY company that wrote a proposal. Breaking down each phase of the job and of course the cost. Under the siding there was sheet rock with major water damage . It had to be taken down to the studs. They replaced all the old insulation covered that with plywood then more insulation board and then the siding. An orther spot that had major water damage was in the master bedroom the entier bottom half of the wall needed to be replaced.Replaced the windows with Andersons. Removed two thru the wall air conditioners , replaced the dry wall ,spackled , replaced panaling in the den where one of the air conditioners was. They matched it perfectly.Replaced all the moldings.Replaced the front entry door and storm door as well as the back enrty door and storm. AJ was on site every day to over see things and answer all of our question. His crews were on time, polite and very very hard working.It took about 10 days to complete the project. We are very pleased with the out come. Not only the major issues with the house have been resolved it looks great!. We are looking forward to saving some money on oil this coming winter. We would definitely hire AJ and company again.

We used Babylon Bay last fall to replace our back door and were very pleased with the results. This time, we needed to have the front steps replaced. A.J.'s crew worked quickly, cleanly, and efficiently. Babylon Bay provides great service at reasonable prices. Thanks again, A.J. !

When we found out we were expecting our first child there was so much we needed to do to prepare for him and changing our office into a nursery was the last thing we had time for. After researching local companies on this site and making some phone calls I chose Babylon Bay Construction. They sent A.J. to give us an estimate and answer any questions we had. Right away I felt comfortable with A.J. and he was there throughout the project for our random calls. Jeovani and Eddy came to do the job, they were friendly and on time and always cleaned up before they left. We had our child 2 weeks ago and our home was just how we wanted it for his arrival. Overall it was a great experience and we are looking forward to the next project we do so we can use them again.

It is going well. I am very pleased so far. Everything has been very good. They have showed up every time they said they would. The owner calls and shows up every day that somebody is on the job. They have been very, very good. Their price was in the middle of the pack. I would absolutely use them again.

A supply line to the sink in my upstairs bathroom burst in January. Water damage to all three levels of my home resulted (second floor, first floor and finished basement). The dining room ceiling and walls and much of the basement ceiling and walls had to be torn out. I got Babylon Bay's information from Angie's List, and it's just another reason I recommend the site to my friends and family. What a fantastic find. I called and AJ came right over. He gave me a detailed, reasonable estimate and provided me with copies of his licenses and insurance information (always important. As an insurance executive, I know one thing above all else: Always go with a licensed, insured contractor. Always. You're just playing with fire if you don't). AJ. has been a total professional and his crew are true craftsmen. I hired him to do $14,000 worth of work, but when I saw what a great job he and his guys did, I added another $4,000 worth right away. Then I asked him to come back and do another $12,000 worth of work over an above the work related to the water damage. I am not made of money by any means, but when you find someone this good, you've got to strike while the iron's hot. I bought my house three years ago. I knew it was a fixer upper and I had to-do list as long as my arm. That list is almost done now and I never imagined I could get it done so fast for so little. Wilmer, Eddie, Giovanni, Will, Kevin and Jose are the best team. On time, responsible, careful, considerate and expert in everything they do. I couldn't be happier. Babylon Bay Construction turned a nightmare situation into a dream come true. I can't wait to use them again.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they did a great job. They did the job within budget and everything was fine. They showed up when they were supposed to and did the job like I asked them to.

They arrived when they said they would and did a clean and professional job. His crew is a very nice bunch of guys. The only "negative" would be that the job took a few days longer than originally quoted - but that impacted AJ more than me, as he had to pay his guys more and my price stayed the same. Other than that, we are very happy with the job done and will be calling them in the future for other home improvements!

Added it all up and deducted what I had paid to Angie's list. So I paid $169 for my first 4 hours and $440 for my last 2. There was a problem and the workman came back and did his job, but the owner had led me to believe large parts of my dining room ceiling would be replaced when in fact very little sheetrock was used. Mostly only spackle. Every one was courteous and neat. I just am not happy with final result nor his methodolgy of pricing. To be fair, I have not called him to 'air' this issue with him.

AJ at Babylon Bay Construction was the second of three contractors who I contacted to fix a seepage leak, that had destroyed a couple of studs and part of the sill plate in a 6' x 8' section of the northeast corner of my den. AJ was prompt and offered a reasonable estimate, so I went with his company. The work was done in an efficient, timely and neat manner. In addition, a baseboard joint came loose during the process, and AJ and his team had a plumber at my house to fix it within an hour. They did a great job and I plan on using him for any work my home may need in the future. Once you find someone who is reliable and you can trust, there is no reason to go elsewhere. Thanks AJ!

We had a number of odd jobs to do and purchased the Angie's List Contractor for a Day offer. Based on the good reviews for Babylon Bay, we thought it would be a great way to acquaint ourselves with this company. We were contacted very promptly after purchasing the deal and AJ met with my husband within a week. He and his crew were punctual, professional and quick. We are extremely pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We will be calling them again.

The owner called frequently to schedule the work when my schedule delayed things. All workers were prompt, polite and did a little extra to make things perfect. These guys are truly great. I don't overly rave on Angie's List, eBay, etc., these guys just simply deserve it. Highly recommended.
