Anthony did an excellent job. He said it would take a few hours to remove the old system and get the new system ready for installation on day 1... He told me I would be without heat overnite and installed the gas burner as he said he would the following day (day 2) . There was a little delay on day 2 due to the gas company not showing up as scheduled, but they did arrive late in the day and I had heat as he said I would on day 2. He came back the following day (day 3) to make sure that everything was up and running properly and he "tweeked" the high efficiency boiler to make sure that it was running at optimum efficiency. For the 4 months after installation, my total heating costs have been under $600 (for a 3000 sq. ft house) compared to what would have been at least $$1500+ using oil. Anthony and his workers did a great job and I will use him (them) for all my plumbing needs in the future. (and my dog loved him and vice versa)

Very professional and an excellent job. Would recommend them for anybody who needs any plumbing work.

I called AFA the night before and they were able to send someone out next morning at 8:30 am. They showed up on time and got right to work. They had the issue corrected in no time. While were here they checked out and correct a couple of other plumbing issues I was having, and gave me estimates on other projects I had in mind. They did not try to rush out the door when they were done and answered all the questions I had. They were neat and even put down a drop cloth right at my door step so they didn't track dirt and water into the house. Will use again for future projects.

It was wonderful. Staff was on time, courteous and efficient. They did exactly what was needed. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We were without heat and he made time in his busy schedule to replace the furnace often coming after 5 in the evening and on the weekend. He was very knowledgeable and professional and gave us a fair estimate compared to his competitors.

They arrived on time, very clean put a tarp on floor. Fixed the leak under the kitchen sink and replaced the drain.

They were professional and concerned from the first phone call. Anthony was extremely knowledgable and knew what to look for, also showed and explained to us what he discovered.

There were a few rough spots regarding timeliness and communicating, but I could not be happier with the final results. Professional, neat, courteous, and the price could not be beat. We still had a leak after anthony installed the toilet valve (possibly due to my oversight in explanation, but maybe not), but Anthony came back within an hour of our callback, fixed the problem for no extra charge. Looking forward to working with Anthony and his entire crew in the near future on bigger and more challenging jobs we have planned

How do i begin to explain the lack of professionalism? Let me start by saying i had a pleasant conversation with the woman who answered the phone. We set up a estimate on tuesday 4 pm. At 4:15 i called the owner answered and sounded aggrivated and distracted to say the least. He told me that she shouldn't have made that appointment because there is no way he could be there for the previously sceduled time and he makes the appointments. In good faith i made another date for him to come and make amends for the missed appointment. We made it for that thursday. WELL Thursday had come and gone without as much as a phone call. I am a patient man but this is too much for me to let go of. I purposely stayed home from work to make sure i was available when he showed up. So i lost a days pay! And did not receive as much as a phone call the day before saying he couldnt make it , or the day of, or in the DAYS AFTER! Not that it would make a differance anyway. Im glad i didnt go with them anyhow. I found a plumber who is nice, appreciative of the business and actually showed up when he said so. I would highly warn any home owner from this company.If your like me, and your time is precious dont waist your time or money on this company AFA Plumbing and Heating mechanical sewer and drain...........Go elsewhere!

Our utility closet is outside of the house with its only entrance on our patio. On Tuesday, Feb. 4th, my husband found water stains on the newly painted doorframe of the bathroom and went out to find the oil burner sitting in 2 inches of water. We were told by our oil company that we had a slab leak in the hot water pipe. We called their plumbers and were told because of the Hurricane Sandy victims, they couldn?t fit us in until Feb. 17th! We called AFA and Kenny came that evening for an estimate. He told us what was needed but that he couldn?t do the job until Friday ? funds for a Sandy victim had just been released from the bank, and they were next line. He said we could call the office for a Friday appt. or contact another plumber. He told us how delicate the job was and what to look for in a repairman. He showed us how to turn on and off the hot water valve so we could shower. We were so taken with his sincerity and level of expertise - we decided to call the office and make the appointment ? with Ken - for Friday. Friday was the blizzard of the century! We postponed until Saturday ? Saturday no one in our area was plowed out. Postponed until Monday. Monday it was raining with 50-60mph winds! My husband called and postponed until Tuesday ? working outside in that weather was crazy ? for the men and for the delicate work that had to be done. They would have come and worked outside, but we postponed it. Linda in the office was truly grateful and thanked us for our decision. Tuesday Kenny (who had a strong cold) and his assistant came early, and finished the job in less than two hours. Ken explained to my husband every step of the way and showed him the leak. They replaced the concrete and cleaned up after themselves. They were well worth waiting for! We can?t say enough about AFA Plumbing. Communication with Linda was great. When she said she would call back in half an hour ? she called back in 10 minutes. Anthony, the owner was easy to deal with, and Kenny and his partner were the best! We waited a week, but that was our decision due to events that really were out of anybody?s control. Once the weather let us decide on a firm date, AFA was there early and finished the job expertly within two hours! And their price was very reasonable. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Anthony was excellent. I have had a number of plumbers come for repairs at my house before and have been shocked by the price, or sent them away, or did the work myself or had to fix whatever I just had them do. I have a number of plumbing issues that I have been putting off getting done as my experiences in the past have been so bad. Now I have finally found a great plumber and will be able to take care of the other things I need done finally. He made sure he came when he said he would, which was 6pm on a Saturday night, and he did not rush through the job, he stayed until he got us back up and running. If you need a plumber, this is the man to call, you will get the job done right and at a reasonable price I cannot emphasize this enough.

I certainly look forward to using Anthony in the future and would tell my family and friends about him. His Angie's List record speaks for itself!

Anthony, the owner, came and diagnosed the problem. He was very pleasant and clear about everything. He made sure I understood what was wrong an what needed to be done to fix the problem. His employees showed up, knew what to do and got the job done. They were professional, clean and got the job done quickly with no issues.

AFA came to reinstal the toilet correctly. Very punctual professional workers. Called when they were on their way. Would def. use again in the future.

During a propane delivery from our service provider on Thursday afternoon, the driver detected a leak during a pressure check, but could not pinpoint its location. A call to the company's service department was placed but the service manager told us that no one would be able to come to check for the leak until the following Wednesday. The tank was locked, but we were told we could contact our own plumber if we did not want to wait. I don't think they thought we'd really follow through with that suggestion, but with two small children in the house, we did not want to wait for nearly a week. The next morning, we contacted several plumbers. Anthony responded immediately and told us he would be available late in the afternoon to check the system. He arrived in the timeframe he'd promised earlier and was courteous and personable, and genuinely concerned about our problem. He performed his own pressure check to confirm the findings of the driver, then diligently examined the tank, the pipes and fittings until he discovered the source of the leak in an outdoor section of pipe between the tank and the house. After getting the necessary parts, he replaced the damaged section of pipe quickly and expertly. Anthony was happy to explain everything that he did and in a way that was easily understood. I cannot overstate his genuine kindness and true professionalism. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of a plumber and will certainly use his services again when necessary.

He came with a helper all of the time. They were all right, but they weren't great. He was very pleasant, but I don't think they did the greatest job. I find that will all plumbers though. I'm never 100% happy. They had to come back a few times and you know nothing was a big problem, but I had to open up the ceiling and they didn't put the sheetrock back. They said that I had to hire someone else to put the sheetrock back and I understand that but even when I tried the other plumbers they did put the sheetrock back. This guy says that's not his job and then he told me to change the faucets, but the thing is if they had to like open up the wall it would've been a bigger problem and so then they would have to do other things. So, I'm saying that maybe they took the easy way out because to do it the bigger way would be more money. I never have the greatest luck with plumbers, but I mean they were all right. They were very pleasant and very personable. I needed a spout changed underneath my deck, so they had to cut a pipe and so they fixed that and that seems to be fine. They had to change some knobs to the faucet and had to come back to do that weeks later. They tried to fix a leak under my kitchen sink, but it's still leaking. They said it was just the sprayer which maybe it is, but it's still leaking. They did fix two little things that they didn't supposedly charge me for. He also had to come back another month to do his job because the first time he didn't do it properly. I still have the hole in my ceiling because I have to call someone to repair the sheetrock. They were pretty responsive. It definitely wasn't cheap and I had a certain amount of what I could afford at the time and it was about $300 and so I'd say he's average.

We were experiencing flooding coming from the washing machine. Ended up to be a larger issue than originally expected.AFA spent time diagnosing what they initially thought was the problem, and than discovered a larger issue stemming from the cesspool. They took the time and recommended a cesspool company as well as contacting that company and explain the issues as well in full detail to them.They also made sure we had all of our information walking us through every detail. AFA came back free of charge 2 days later to rectify the same issue that reoccurred due to our lack of knowledge...NOT AFA...we couldn't be more satisfied or pleased with the company and their employees. Even the office staff was very considerate over the phone. We highly recommend AFA.

Workman was professional, investigated each needed repair, I had four for him. One he said he could not deal with at all and that was my washing machine not draining properly. The second was a broken pipe in my kitchen. This he repaired immediately. The third was a leaking bathroom sink. He took this apart, attempted the repair but found this needed a new faucet set. He supplied a web site to order this from and will return to install when I call him. The fourth was a new trap needed in the kitchen sink. This also needs to be ordered. His work was done in 1.5 hours. He left things clean, was courteous and I would definitely have him return.

These guys showed up when they were supposed to be here, prepped the job site to include protection of floors and surrounding areas, were very good about minimizing demo where necessary, came prepared with tools, materials and sufficient staffing. Besides doing great work and clean work (with plumbing this is a huge positive). every one of them is personable and friendly, as well as showing consideration for the client's schedule and use of the property even while they are working. Anthony let me know what they planned to do on a given day, they showed up and didn't leave until it was done. As anyone who has ever done any retrofitting/remodeling knows, there are always unforseen issues that crop up as workspace is exposed, and they had already anticipated what they would need to address these issues, mitigating any delay. Experience does count, and they put it to good use.

Overall, I would recommend AFA Plumbing to anyone. Rarely do you deal with a contractor outfit, where you are dealing with the owner, who is still performing, and overseeing the work with his staff. I liked the fact that AFA is a smaller company, providing me with the intimate attention I needed throughout the process. Their knowledge in various systems, and various technologies that are available on the market today, while providing me honest feedback in terms of what is necessary, led me to confidently choose AFA. If you're in need of a good plumber, AFA Plumbing is the way to go.

Overall, we can't say enough good things about AFA Plumbing. The owner, Anthony, was always concerned about making sure we understood everything that was going on, so that we had no suprises. He and his guys didn't walk in our house without using dropcloths. They were always curteous and polite. Whenever we called them, they always answered the phones. We never had to leave a message. And we called at some inconvenient times, but Anthony was always polite and glad to answer our questions. His guys are very experienced and express a confident attitude. We highly recommend AFA Plumbing for any plumbing or heating job.
