The electrician arrived right on time. The fan control went smoothly. The existing box for the ceiling fixture turned out not to be grounded, and the existing line was not long enough to connect the fixture, so some new wire had to be run through the attic in some tight spaces. This unavoidably created dust and generally made a mess but the electrician brought in his own vacuum to clean up. The job was more involved than expected due to the unforeseen conditions but all turned out well. We were fully satisfied.

Two electricians arrived right on time (they start at 7:30 a.m. which is very convenient to avoid having to stay home and wait for them). They installed the fixtures, were pleasant, worked neatly and cleaned up their work area upon completion. We were fully satisfied.

They were very good. We could recommend them to other folks. They were knowledgeable. They did the work that needed to be done. They were thorough. One of the things that was nice about the quote that they gave us was, it was very specific. They told they were going to do this, they were going to try to do this for this. We liked that a lot. They took probably about 8 weeks to do the job. We interviewed several contractors that came out. They were little bit more expensive than the others but we thought the quality of the work was very good so we were quite happy with it. It’s very good work.

I called after hours and they promptly called the next day to schedule an electrician to come out within a week. They called three days later to schedule but the problem was taken care of by O&R

You can not find a better contractor anywhere. Outstanding work and dedication to doing the job to a successful completion. Neat, prompt, courteous. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe this business. Went above and beyond to obtain the town permit for the generator, the installation was perfect and the follow-up visit was scheduled and completed as agreed. I only wish all the jobs around the house were electrical in nature because this company is the best.

I was pleased with their service, good pricing and showed up on time. I haven't had to use it yet so not sure on quality.

The receptionist I talked to was friendly and we agreed to a 2-hour window when I could expect someone to arrive. But they would call 45 minutes before arrival to let me know the exact time. When the electrician arrived he was very professional and quick. No issues.

Valentine's responded promptly and pleasantly to my request for help with 3-4 small electrical repairs which several other contractors have been unwilling to undertake because of the small scope of the job. Two electricians arrived promptly, covered their shoes with booties every time they entered the house, fixed everything, and even pointed out a safety concern which they then took care of. Work done in one afternoon pleasantly and professionally - Thumbs up!

They're on Angie's List. They did such a good job. Other guys who had been here had to run lines from the circuit box to the walls, it was taking them forever but these guys took them half an hour. They did an excellent job. They come on time, they do good work, they talk to you about stuff that they see that's maybe not up to code and tell you what you should do about it. They were very friendly. The guy came out that afternoon when I called them to give me the estimate. He looks over all the work that you might want and then he emails you a full and complete written estimate of what he's doing. I've never seen anything like that. You get a full proposal. He is totally professional. I'm probably switching over to them from somebody else who I didn't care much for to handle my generator.

Paul arrived on time as promised for the estimate thus disputing the rumor that electricians never show up. His estimate was clear and broken down by the jobs we discussed. His two electricians were on time and worked straight through from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. until the job was finished. They took care of my space and removed the debris from their work. They were friendly and respectful. When the new fixtures were installed in my husband and my bedroom, they looked absolutely beautiful and it was clear they were professionally installed. Basically, Paul is a great person and he hires great people to work for him.

Initial estimate was based on replacing 2 electrical outlets, but electrician resided light switches which fixed the problem with 2 outlets. Replaced lamp socket, installed outside electrical outlet.

When they removed the oven from the wall, the technician put his knee through the glass door and broke it. They left and never told me they broke the door. I realized it as I walked by and it shattered - thankfully, it didn't happen when my toddlers were around. We asked them to pay for the price of the door (quote received from oven manufacturer of $800+). They sent a check for $150 and refused to pay more saying that the oven wasn't repairable (which it was). We ended up having to go to small claims court. It was very short-sighted of Mr. Valentine that it ended this way. We recently bought the house - an old Victorian that has needed ongoing electrical work. Had he done the right thing and paid for the broken oven door, he would have had tens of thousands of dollars of more work in our home.

It went fine overall. They made the appointment, sent me a quote, and did a good job. My only issue was they showed up about 45 minutes late and I had to get to work.

Removal of live wires from an old above ground pool that was dismantled. Also they discovered in a bedroom, there was an electrical socket for an air conditioner that was not the 3 prong socket, Valentine change to the proper wall socket . I am very happy that their saw and prevented any future electrical fires due to the wrong type of socket. Yes, I will hire this company again and they provided an 15% discount for senior citizens in which I loved. also love that they came in the rain to remove the live wires.

Not finished but so far so good

My experience with Valentine Electric was first rate. Paul Valentine (owner) visited my house and provided an estimate for all work that was exact to the penny. The electricians were extremely punctual, professional, polite, and fast. All work was done with the highest quality and the electricians were extremely knowledgeable and patient while answering questions. All the work took 2 separate visits to complete and each visit took less than 2 hours. This allowed the crew renovating my bathroom to begin their work on time or even a bit early. I cannot be happier with the work that was performed and will use Valentine for all my electrical needs in the future.

Valentine's electricians arrived promptly, reviewed with me the placement of the electrical line within the garage to the generator. The work was performed on the panels and the placement of the generator on the concrete pad very neatly and professionally. Power was restored to my house. I checked... everything OK. The electrician shut off the power as I watched and the generator kicked in within seconds. I checked...everything OK. Utility power restored at the flip of a switch ..everything OK!! The above work was completed on Thursday, believe it or not, I lost power two days later for a few hours...Worked as it should.

The job went as planned and I was consulted about location of lights and switch. The new AC disconnect and wiring were installed in a safe professional manner.

Paul and his crew provided a quality, professional and stellar service. Valentine's crew was always punctual, clean and capable. These guys took on a big job and they were always in the best of cheer. Their customer service, is 2nd to none. I was dealing with a few other contractors, at the same time and these guys stood out from the bunch. I would HIGHLY recommend Valentine and his crew!

Technician who came was very professional and reliable. Answered our questions and showed us what to do. We can always call them if we have questions.

Awaiting arrival of the stand by generator, which is on eight week backlogged due to hurricane Sandy.

I was very pleased with how everything went. Once I hired them to do the job, they were there in 2 days. They were on time , friendly, and worked quickly to get the job done. They took time to make suggestions about how to hook up a new TV and other equipment to make it simpler for me. At the end they cleaned up everything and disposed of all of the trash. I was very happy with the job. There was a coupon available on Angies List that was accepted without any problem.

They were professional. They were very nice. But, first of all, I felt that their rate was really too high and the way they did it was, rather than carry the thing I needed on their truck, they went to the store and bought it and all of that was part of my labor rate, which just didn't seem fair to me. It says on the webpage that it's $65.00 an hour. It's on the webpage. When he told me, "Well, you need a timer." after he was there, took the old one out and checked it and said, "You need a new one. I have to go buy one." And so, he just went to the nearest store. I said, "That doesn't seem fair. Why don't you keep them on your truck?" and in the past, that's what other electricians had done. And he said, "Oh, no, we can't store every one that we would need, so we buy it." And so, he went to a local hardware store and bought whatever they had there, which wasn't necessarily what they might normally use. He put it in and it didn't work. I paid him and he set it up. The next day, it wasn't working right. And I had to go away for the holidays and I wanted it that reason, in the first place. So, on the one hand, I was really annoyed, because the labor was so high and I had to pay for a two hour service call. It was just a lot of money for a timer. So, then, I had to call back and I was expecting them to give me a hard time, so I will say, he didn't. He said, "I'm really sorry. I'll send the guy back this morning. We'll get the one we normally use and we'll use that one." And so he came back, and he put in the one they normally use and they set it up and they didn't charge me for that, which, of course, they shouldn't have. So, on the one hand, I feel they handled the problem well, so I can't complain about that. But on the other hand, I don't like the fact that they charge me for him to go to the store to buy the new timer. And because of that, he didn't buy the one they normally do, because he just bought whatever he could find in the local store. He was a little arrogant about "That's how we charge, that's how we do it." We can't carry everything on our truck. No one ever did it that way before and I just didn't think that was right. That half hour that he was gone to the store, I shouldn't have to pay for that. And they said, "Well, that's the technicians time. We have to pay him too." So I just didn't think that's the way he'd do business for a common thing that people will use. They came in and fixed it and I'm happy with the one I have, but I do think I payed too much for it. But I might be wrong. The price is maybe higher than I thought at first.
