"I was surprised by this response. We were told there was a problem with the outdoor lights and timer. There are hundreds of timers and it would be impossible to carry them all. After troubleshooting the system it was the timer that was defective. This was a switch timer and there are dozens of them. We went to the local electrical supply store which was also in Airmont and purchased the only timer they carry. It was a good named brand timer. The supply house was 10 minutes from her home and we picked up and returned as soon as possible. We installed the new timer and worked with her to program. The timer was working fine when we left. She called and said she was unhappy. With no questions asked I sent a man to a different supply house and purchased a different manufactures timer which cost us $30.00 more then the original one she was charged for and we returned and replaced the one she was unhappy with. We tested and checked the original timer and it works fine so we only replaced it because she was unhappy. I have now paid for the original timer which I cannot return because we opened it and it works fine and the new more expensive new timer. When she called we responded immediately and without question to make her happy. She was told of our rates and agreed to them prior to our going to her house and in the end she paid about half of the cost of the replacement timer. I'm not sure what else we could have done. Again, while we carry a lot of electrical supplied on our truck and we use large utility body trucks it is impossible for us to carry everything. It is also impossible for us to know what supplies are needed for every service call, but we are fair and honest and competitively priced and as she stated we stand behind everything we do."
"Wow, I was surprised to see a bad rating from the Member. We were called because a multi-family apartment building (six apartments)she owns in Piermont, New York had a safety issue and her insurance company was going to drop her coverage unless repairs were made. These repairs had to be done immediately. We had a New York State certified electrical inspector provide us with a list of these repairs, ran to several supply house to get the materials some over an hour from our office, returned and installed same all so her insurance would not drop her. My men worked over 10 hours that day and we did not charge her for overtime. We also did not charge her for the time, manpower or gas to run to three different supply house to get the materials to complete her job. We had provided her with a price before starting any work and complete the job on time and at the price quoted. There was wasted time becuase she showed up late and we could not get into each apartment right away. She stood behind my men and day and was extremly happy until we gave her the invoice. While it was at the agreed price she refused to pay. She claimed she could get the materials on line for cheaper then we charged her. We could have also got the materials at a cheaper price but NOT in one day. She demanded a discount even though I gave her the invoices from the supply house showing what I paid. We ended up discounting our price to below our cost to try and keep her happy! In closing we did the work on April 01, 2012 and she was able to keep her insurance. We did it below our cost and below the price she had agreed to and now on December 07, 2012 some six (6) months later she gives us a bad review. The only one who should be disappointed is Valentine Electric."
