My wife and I were fortunate to sell our home. We were unfortunate in the fact that Nike Molyneaux (read that Nikki) from McKinney Real Estate was the purchasers agent. The original time that Nike showed our home this is what we came home to: The screen door was unlocked and open. Open to the point where it was wedged against the deck and would not close. The inside porch door was unlocked and left open. The inside house door was unlocked and left open (sense a pattern here??). This was in spite of the fact that both the listing and a note left for the realtor mentioned that there were indoor cats in the home and that they were not to be let out.. There were lights left on in three separate rooms of the home. There was a TV/radio that was playing ins spite of the fact that we hadn't used it in probably a year. We spoke to our realtor and she mentioned that we shouldn't get too upset since it looked like this was a couple that looked like they were going to make an offer.Fast forward to the final walk through. It took place on a Monday. We were not notified of the final walk through when it took place. We found out when they called with a question. Not good. We were not living in the home, and my wife was busy. I was out of town and on Saturday needed to go to the house for a check up. This is what I found: The back door unlocked and open. The porch door unlocked and open and the inside house door unlocked and open. After calming down a bit (they were left open for 5 days) we took a walk through to check for any obvious signs of anyone being in the home. We then called the purchasers and had them come to the house to make sure that none of their belongings that were being stored were missing. Thank heavens they were not. We called Nike. She was unapologetic and said nothing else about it.Fast forward to the closing. Nike was there and mentioned to my wife when she received her commission that 'she could not believe that you are still upset'. Not the best thing to say. If you are going to say anything at all, apologize. Nope, not Nike. She should have kept her mouth shut. We then spoke to the co-owner of McKinney, Stephen Day. Long story short, he 'spoke with Nike and she said she did not leave the home open'. So sad for us.Spoke to the original owner, now co-owner Mary Kay McKinney. She 'knew nothing about any of this', but 'maybe another agent used the lockbox after... it happens'. Not really, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and checked with our realtor. They can get a readout from the box. Didn't happen. Our realtor took the box and the key well before the walk through and returned them to us at my wife's request.NONE OF THESE PEOPLE INVOLVED THINK NIKE DID ANYTHING WRONG??????? THE HOUSE WAS LEFT OPEN FOR 5 DAYS!!!!!!!I would strongly recommend not using this agent in particular and this company in general and will make it my mission to inform anyone that I can of what took place.
Description of Work: McKinney Real Estate agent Nike Molyneaux was the purchasers agent for our home, unfortunately.

Response from McKinney Real Estate Inc.
Response to this member regarding Nike Molyneaux and McKinney Real Estate On Monday June 25, 2012, I received an e-mail from him regarding a complaint he had with one of our agents, Nike Moleneaux. The complaint dealt with his accusation that Nike had left the doors open to his house and the lights on, and that the houses was left like this for a period of 5 days. In response to this e-mail, I immediately called him and since he was not available I spoke with his wife. I gathered information from her in order to further investigate the allegations. I explained to her that she had placed me in a position where I was dealing with a personnel issue, and that I could not reveal to her everything I shared with Nike during my investigation and follow through. After I hung up the phone with her, I immediately contacted Nike to investigate this matter. Nike denied having left the door open and the lights on. I also learned that the owners, they had allowed the buyers to place some of their personal items in the house before the sale of the house closed. When Nike did the walk through she discovered these items, and made note of it for the record. It is apparent that he gave permission to the buyer to place personal belongings in the house before it closed without notifying the buyer agent, the selling agent, or either of the attorneys involved in the transaction. He did this of his own accord without consultation from anyone else. In addition, the buyer had secured insurance on his belongings, and he had placed the utilities in his own name. He did this all without consulting his agent or attorney. How the buyer gained access to the house, and whether or not the buyer had a key has not been determined. Also whether or not the buyer had “open” access to the house is not clear. In any case, this certainly leaves open speculation as to how the doors became opened and the lights left on. On the same day, June 25th, I sent them a letter responding to the complaint, and apologizing for any inconvenience that had been caused. It was my understanding that the sale of the house was successful, and that they had received payment for the house. I indicated in the letter that I could not confirm how the lights were left on, but that I would review this procedure with Nike and all of our agents to prevent anything like it from happening again. I also thanked them for making me aware of the situation. On June 27th, I received a telephone call from her complaining that she did not like my letter because it sounded like I was calling her and her husband liars. I explained that I simply did not have enough information to determine who left the lights on, but I was doing everything I could to make sure something like this did not happen again. I tried to make it clear that I did not consider them liars. It was during this phone call that she mentioned that she felt that Nike did not earn her commission, and that we should return the commission paid to them. I did not respond to this suggestion. On July 11, I called Mirka Herzog, an agent from realty USA, and the agent who listed the property. Mirka told me that they had called Realty USA on a couple of occasions to complain about the fact that they were not contacted prior to the walk through, and that they were not happy. Mirka said that she felt that Nike had handled herself appropriately and that there was no reason for the client’s to be upset. All aspects of the transaction were handled appropriately, and it was a successful sale. In conclusion it is my opinion that there is room to speculate on who left the doors open and the lights on. It was a poor decision on the part of the owners to give the buyers access to the house without first consulting their agent or their attorney. In these cases it is best to prepare a pre-possession agreement, signed by all parties, that sets the rules for access to the house. Since there was no pre-possession agreement, it is possible the buyers could have left the doors open and the lights on, or they could have given a key to a friend to drop something off at the house, or there could be several other scenarios as to how this occurred. There is no way to confirm what happened. Nike said that she did not leave the lights on. I have no evidence that proves she did or did not. Nike Molyneaux earned the commission she was paid for the work that she did in bringing the transaction to a successful close. My final opinion is that had the owners consulted with their agent or their attorney, and communicated their needs, it is possible that none of this would have happened. I don’t think that Nike Molyneax or The Mckinney Agency should be accused when the accuser made poor decisions. Respectfully, Stephen F. Day Associate Broker/ Owner McKinney Real Estate Inc.
