A.C. Spear Electric Inc. is an electrical contracting company that employs highly skilled and knowledgeable licensed electricians. They have been in business over 50 years. Their services range from service upgrades to full new installations for Commercial, Residential and Industrial projects. Our team is here to help you with any of your needs. We are an electrical contractor that specializes in every aspect of electrical distribution. Every employee is trained in all installations from residential to heavy industrial with all safety aspects included in their training. We have Master Licenses for Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Syracuse, Oneonta and Norwich. Our journeyman are licensed in the same areas and apprentice in state approved apprenticeship programs. We an open shop employer. Our team focus is quality installations where customer satisfaction comes first.

The were very professional and always go the extra mile.
Description of Work: AC Spear has done work for us a number of times at our primary residence and at our lake house in PA. They upgraded our entire service, add a sub-panel, installed ceiling fans with separate wall switches for fan. At our cottage, they chased down all wires and found live wires in the ground and walls. They are great work. Additionally, I had them fix the work from another electrician at my parents house.

Since he did not charge I have no real complaints. I chose another provider this time. (Doug Smith Mason St Binghamton, NY) I only wanted a repair.
Description of Work: Came in and looked at my door opener. He gave me a verbal idea of the job and cost.

Excellent work, excellent service.
Description of Work: Removed two old fuse boxes. Replaced with Siemens 150 amp breaker boxes to match one which was currently in place. Reattached and labeled all wires. Labeled all circuits.

Installed a new light fixture on an exsisting wall and re-located electric wires a few inches from exsisting location. My only complaint is that he ended up going to the local Home Depot twice; Once to get a new light appliance, but while he was still there I asked him to look for a Brushed Nickel fixture. He only brought back two different fixtures and neither were what we wanted. I ended up going back with him on the second attempt and located a fixture that was not only to our liking but also easy on our wallet. My wife and I are seniors and cost is a major consideration. I believe that the time taken resulted in extra cost that could have been averted by securing the right fixture on the first trip. He was a very pleasent person and his level of work was ok. That is why I could only give a and quot;Band quot; rating. Part of this is my fault in that I could have avoided the extra cost by Pre-purchasing the fixture ahead of his arrival.

I observed, later, that this company did some work at the Town of Binghamton town offices - so I'm guessing that means they do well working with the local code officer and do a good job since the Town chose to use them. Part of the remodeling work was done in- house (I saw the code officer at work on revamping one of the front offices) but they contracted for this firm to do the electrical.
Description of Work: Would have moved electrical service off a house being demolished and installed a power pole with new meter, main switch and outlet for RV. This company would have had to have had over a month's advance notice as they were booked up. I did not get a quote from them. Turns out I could have waited, but I chose to go with a contractor I had used in the past even though he had to come a distance to do the work.

Description of Work: Stopped by the house to gather data in order to provide an estimate. Seemed very enthusiastic in bidding and winning the job. Provided some good installation suggestions for me to consider in order to reduce the overall cost. Inspected the basement (fuse box) and exterior of the house where the power lines entered the house. Stated the written estimate should be mailed to me within two (2) weeks. After two weeks, I called several times to follow up on what was the status of my estimate. I even stopped by the AC Spears facilities on Pierce Creek Road and did not speak to anyone other than a receptionist. No return call or call by the secretary that A/ the estimate is delayed and will be provided on X date B/ I'm too busy or C/ I don't want the job. Mean while I have two other estimates I'm holding up the start date waiting for AC Spear estimate. As a result of this delay I was unable to give the go ahead in time to other two bidders before winter arrived. The eventual electrical update internally and externally was left for the following spring.
