Told plumber 5 radiators not producing heat, unable to bleed. Asked if I had auto bleeders- I replied yes. Asked him price, said it wouldn't be $99. Arrived 9:30am 11-13-07. Asked him to take shoes off or I would provide plastic bags to cover shoes. He balked at request. 1st thing, went to boiler w/out checking radiators. Any question I asked, he told me to let him think, put my question off. Was surveying pipes above boiler, talking out loud to himself, confusing. At one point explained other plumbers would stretch job out to 6 hours & charge $900. He said he had to the change feeder valve. Once done, checked radiators. 5 now working but bedroom baseboard radiator stopped working yet was best working one before. Presented illegible bill $543, less than 1 hr.work. Bled baseboard but it never got warm although he said it was. Next day called him to come back to fix. He bled until it was hot but got quickly cold. Said he couldn't guarantee it working.
