LIS Custom Designs Inc

We had the company design our kitchen during the summer and their services in this regard were very good, although our kitchen was not overly complicated. We then ordered the cabinets, signed a contract and paid half the amount due in mid-August. We were promised a 6-8 week delivery time and scheduled our contractor accordingly to do this and other work in our home. As we neared the anticipated date, we reached out to our salesperson for an estimated time of arrival and found it very difficult to get a response. We were finally told that the delivery date would be November 1. When we later reached out again for an update, it once again became very difficult to get a response. We finally heard from the company that the approximate delivery date would be November 18. Given that their last two promises were not accurate, we are skeptical. We also wonder why a company in business so long does not have more clout with its cabinet suppliers. In any case, the delay is causing some serious problems with our renovation schedule. The company seems to have problems apologizing and it also has not offered us any discounts or other concessions from its relatively high retail prices to make up for the error. All of this is too bad because we have a number of neighbors who are considering similar renovations and they were depending on us for referrals if our job turned out well. We will reserve final judgment until the time that the cabinets are delivered and installed.

The cabinets came in and all seemed to be going well. Once the installers started their work they releazed that we were missing a few pieces from the original order and parts of the cabinets came with the wrong dimensions. There was also a problem with part of the coloring which I was told was a manufacturing defect. LIS took pictures of the miscolored cabinet pieces to send to the manufacturer and reordered the pieces that they had made a mistake on (sent them wrong dimensions, was their fault not manufacturer) This whole process took awhile and I felt it was just part of the risks of ordering cabinets and we were working to resolve the issue. It took multiple emails and phone calls to finally get a delivery date for the reordered pieces. Once they arrived we realized that the order was once again not put in properly and we were missing molding and baskets for the pantry. I phoned and emailed my representative numerous times and was blown off each and everytime. I called and asked for a manager and was told everything woudl be taken care of. He emailed me all the missing pieces and we confirmed the delivery. Two months went by and I once again sent numerous emails as well as phone calls and only got a response once. I Called last week and was told that the manager had resigned and that they would look into what happened and would be called back that day. It has been one week since that last phone call, I called again today and was told that "someone" should have called me and they would get back to me again (sounding a bit familiar). Thru out the process of trying to track them down the only thing I every really got back form them was who was going to pay for this? They said it was very tough for them to get the manufacturer to admit fault for the discolored cabinets even though they agreed it was in fact completely the wrong color. LIS was paid in full after the cabinets were delievered so my feeling is that they just do not care about their clietns and finishing the original contracted work. I would never use them again and am still trying to find out if they even ordered the missing pieces.

This is the first time I have used their services. The designer was very good. They were very professional.
