Description of Work: We contacted Highlander Roofing after our roof was damaged in the Sandy storm. Even though they were quite busy they came quickly to give us an estimate. After getting several estimates we decided to use Highlander for many reasons but mainly because they were not pushy salespeople and they received several excellent reviews commenting on their satisfaction on a very professional, reliable and clean roofing job. We contacted Bob and he scheduled the job within two weeks. During that time we received a call from Bob on Sunday night and explained he had a cancellation for the next day and asked if we would like our roof done in the morning. We agreed and they arrived on time and began working immediately. They worked all day and the workers were like a well oiled machine. Everyone was busy all day doing something that allowed the remainder if the crew to proceed to the next step without delay. They finished the job by around 5pm and we couldn't have been more pleased with the roof. Walking around the house we were amazed at how clean the property was even though they had removed the old roof layers and laid a new one. We didn't find even one nail around the house when they were done. I would highly recommend Highlander to anyone that wants a professional roofing job. We have received many compliments on the roof by our neighbors and have already recommended several people to call Highlander. We can only say thanks so much to Bob and his professional crew that installed our roof!

After they were finished another crew came in and installed the gutters. Took just one day. I was very impressed and would recommend this company to anyone in need of a new roof.

They totally cleaned up everything. I was pleased with the quality of the work overall. The owner was very honest and up-front. His prices were extremely fair. I had contacted other contractors. He wasn't the cheapest, but he was the best. I'm very pleased with him.

Highlander was in the middle on price overall but Bob was one of only 2 roofers who actually got up on my roof and walked it and the only one who noticed that our chimney flashing was bad and causing our leak. Also his price for plywood was more reasonable than other vendors. Have had a lot of snow this month but no more issues with the roof! Highly recommend.
Description of Work: Complete tear off, new flashing, new attic fan, replaced rotting plywood.

 + -1 moreRobert Colquhoun came out here and actually got on the roof. While examining the roof, he put a patch on the roof were my roof it was leaking. I had two other companies that came out and gave me estimates and didn't fix the leak in the roof. He wouldn't except any payment for fixing the leak. I really appreciate that and thought it was amazing. He was also very through. He explained everything in detail to me and said they would be able to get me in an a week or so. We have hired them for the job.

 + -1 moreRobert, the owner, came the same day I called and gave me an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The price was fair...he even invited me to shop around before commiting. His workers came exactly when promised and did a great job (clearly more than they expected needed to be done...and I was not charged extra). Highlander did a wonderful job and I recommend them without reservation. I will have them back when/if my roof needs replacing.

I have a center hall colonial, tongue and groove sheathing. Never called back with estimate destpite leaving three messages over a period of three weeks. Very unprofessional.

Bob ,the owner of Highlander Roofing, was the only person who, without my having to ask, gave me a written estimate and a list of references.After speaking with several of his references I gave him the job. He showed up on the date that he told me he would. His crew did an excellant job. The work was done in one day. They cleaned up everything. I can only add that Highlander Roofing was by far the most pleasant, painless expience I have had so far in renovating my home.

 + -1 moreThey don't have a receptionist so I had to leave a few voicemail messages before getting a call back, but an appointment was made and was kept right on schedule. I had to call several times to get a date for the work but once I got it, again everything went as planned. I found a few nails in my lawn and in my driveway after the work was completed and showed them to the owner when he came for this check, who took them and apologized. Overall, I got a quality roof job at a fair price.
Description of Work: Roof replaced including 13 sheets of plywood. They also installed a new attic fan as part of the work. It took less than a day for my entire roof. The owner gave me the estimate and was on site during the work. They did a nice job. They are quick, knowledgeable and professional. I would use them again and would recommend to friends.

 + 0 moreMy house is on a hill, and there is a very steep drop off of the front of the house. They were really very careful about it. They have a lot of really good insurance in case somebody should fall. I was worried about that, but they are pretty well covered. They had very skilful workers. They came in and got it all done in a day and a half. They would have done it even faster, but it got dark sooner than they anticipated.
Description of Work: I used Highlander Roofing. They took off the old roof and put on a new roof. They also put up new gutters with glides on them.

 + 0 moreExcellent! The work crew showed up exactly on time, 8:00 am, and by 5:30 the same day the entire job was completed, including the cleanup process. Very professionally done and the roof looks terrific. We are very pleased.
Description of Work: Rip up of old roof, including removal of gutters and underlying fascia boards. Installed new tar paper, rubber ice shields, copper flashing around chimney, shingles, and replaced fascia board. They subcontracted production and installation of new gutters with another company, but everything was included in the price. All debris was carted away.

 + -1 moreThey did the house with 3 peaked roofs, wrap around porch and 2 flat roofs in one day. It took them the second day to do the barn/garage. Everyone else said it would take at least 5 days. They were amazingly professional and efficient. There must have been a crew of 12-15 workers. They had their own truck to cart away the debris. The barn was a bit of a nightmare because there was a hole in the roof which caused a beam to rot away and other rot. They replaced the beam, rotted wood on the barn and on the house where needed and never asked for additional money. If there has ever been a dream job, this is it.
Description of Work: They removed 1 layer of cedar shingles and at least 3 layers of asphalt shingles on the house, porch and barn/garage. They put down all new plywood on everything and 50 year architectural shingles. They also stripped off rusted metal on 2 flat roofs and again covered the entire surface with plywood and rubber roofing. They also put in gutters and drains. They also had to reinforce the barn roof before starting. They carted off every bit of debris and cleaned up the yard. They rolled a magnet over the lawn to make sure there were no nails left behind. My yard looked better after they left than it did before they arrived.

Description of Work: Complete rip (2 layer) removed and replaced 4 skylights. New 30 year Tamko roof. They provided me with 11 pages of references with 52 names and numbers per page and I did call a bunch of them and they said they did a great job.
