Description of Work: Kitchen. Everyone was wonderful, we dealt mostly with Carlos, foreman on the job and he was great. Plan on using them next year to redo my bathroom. Worked very clean and efficient.

Description of Work: Oz did a complete kitchen remodel. They removed a partial wall and installed a flush mount header. |They are the best !!! Our kitchen came out fantastic. The workers were there for four weeks. All OZ employees, never a sub contractor. At the end of every day the left the place spotless. |I would recommend them without reservation. |Thank you OZ !

Description of Work: My family and I had an outstanding experience with OZ General Contracting. We had two major projects that we were considering. The first was an entire renovation including, Master Suite and Bath, Kids Bathroom, Kids Bedrooms, Den, Kitchen and Great room. The second stage of the project was an entire remodeling of the outside of our home. I met with several contractors and designers before selecting OZ. We made our selection based on creativity, reputation, references, a committed timeline and price. WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER WITH OUR CHOICE! The team at OZ was outstanding! They truly helped us make our house and unbelievable HOME. From the planning stage to completion they demonstrated reliability underscored by a commitment to service and excellence. They consistently came up with creative solutions, before I knew I even needed one. They used their years of experience to show us options they have had great success with in other projects. They finished a huge project ahead of schedule and we actually missed them when they left. Every day when they left, our home was immaculate and they had the utmost respect and care for our family while we lived there through the project!When it came to the next phase, there was no question OZ would be our only choice. Today we refer them to ANYONE asking for an amazing contractor.

They leave the job claen every day. More money than I wanted to spend but I believe they were worth the addtional investment. |A+

Description of Work: The Oz showroom was great. And the advertised a special bathroom for $9995. However, once they did an estimate it was higher ($13,000 or so). Once we got to planning each item, it seemed almost every one was an "upgrade." "You don't want the toilet that comes the package, or the faucet, tile, etc." Total cost was closer to $18,000 for an average-sized bathroom. That said, Oz did a great job. They were prompt, clean, courteous, accepted our credit, and called to check on their work. And the bathroom looks great. We selected our own vanity and granite. Their vanities were synthetic and not real wood. Now everything looks and works great!

Description of Work: Two Bathrooms & One Kitchen Demo & Remodel Overall, Oz General Contracting staff is very good. Uzi and Lori and the rest of the design staff at the Bellmore office were courteous, knowledgeable, & professional. Anthony, Sergio, Steve & rest of crew on the labor end were professional & effective. Anyone of these individuals on their own earns my top referral. The Pros- Easy planning- Expert advice- Persistent follow up- early start, swift demolition, well planned & coordination with scheduled tasks (no small matter as we continued to add outside projects to their agenda & the h*** Hurricane Sandy visited upon all Long Islanders during the job time frame) The Cons - the communication between the front office billing & the field team is either dismally underperforming or broken - the policy of declaring an aspect/portion of the job being completed when it is not in fact completed is extremely poor business sense ( I could never in good faith tell a customer their vehicle was complete although it was missing a part they paid to have installed or repaired ) - As of today, I am still short a couple items short & while I have complete faith Oz will in fact complete all the work, I couldn't say with complete honesty the full payment expectation is a good business practice on their part. The Unexpected - As with any construction project, things come up that were not part of the plan. Such as massive hurricanes that cripple electrical tools, Gasoline shortages, old plumbing that gives out walls that impede door travels etc etc etc. Oz addressed all issues as best as they could be. One example is a cabinet above the refrigerator was designed & manufacturer to small for the space. Rather than redesign & rework the cabinet ( a process that would add at least two weeks to the completion time) Anthony & Sergio build a soffit above it to utilize the cabinet as is. I may have lost a small amount of storage space but I am not waiting the additional time for the re work. Another such example was The addition of a heating unit in the base of the kitchen island which was not designed in but shall be very well received as winter comes- Great Idea from the Technicians @ the work sight! - This a very good company who's parts are greater than the whole. They do their jobs & are very good at them individually - a bit more cohesion between the differing departments & they will have an excellence in the General Contracting field not frequently found in their industry. I look forward to see that next step. Finally - to you the prospective consumer- You need to be diligent, clear headed, & informed. You cannot expect a "feast" with all amenities without being prepared to spend much more than the "Buffet" price. Your Home will always have something amiss long before you even hire your contractors - keep this in mind - You need to be pragmatic while considering what you desire.
