Description of Work: Used them for an energy audit a few years back and they were very informative. Gave us a few options to make the house more efficient. At the time we couldn't afford their options so I did some DIY stuff. Recently we wanted to get some attic insulation done so we called them. They were great with their quote but we used another company for a bunch of reasons, one being price. But they do provide a higher standard of work. I would use them in the future.

Description of Work: HH performed a comprehensive energy audit (paid by NY State)and suggested three waves of work. We have completed the first wave - sealing the home from infiltration and insulating a floor that was directly exposed to the cold. Amazing difference in comfort level after the work was complete. No drafts, rooms are warmer.

Description of Work: This was an energy audit and energy conservation project which amounted to Healthy Home mostly just plugging areas where heat was escaping. They were initially really good and did what they said they were going to do. After the project, I was supposed to be eligible for a rebate but it never came through. When I emailed and called to ask about it I never really got a good answer. In the end, I didn't pursue it because I got busy with other things, but I was left with a bad impression because this is their world and at least part of why I thought I was buying was a little hand-holding through the process.

+ 0 moreIt went phenomenally. They walked me through the loan process, which was a complicated one. Then on the days of the installation they were very professional, coming with a large and well-prepared team. They were considerate and worked quickly and efficiently. It was quite an incredible process of shooting the insulation through "guns" into the ceilings, going into the attic crawl space, sealing leaky areas and much more. The process took several days, but throughout the work went smoothly. Their people answered questions when we had them, and because of the nature of the work, I had quite a few. They did a good job cleaning and touching up. They even helped me navigate the NYSERDA legislation information when we found out that the state was increasing the amount of homeowner rebates. I was also surprised and pleased when they told me that one type of insulation was initially not available, but would be soon and they returned after the job was complete to put it around my garage-to-home door.
Description of Work: Healthy Home was one of the contractors listed from Energize Bedford, a town agency, that was providing NYSERDA energy services for homeowners. Healthy Home came out and initially provided an energy audit. While they did so, I was able to learn a great deal about the process. They showed me how my home was leaking energy, and how I could accomplish savings with insulation, blocking leaky areas and more. I was impressed also that they suggested simple solutions - such as utilizing drapes - to seal in heat in the inter. I did not have to put out any out-of-pocket costs, although the funds will be taken from a longterm low-interest loan. It is estimated that I will see savings within three or four years.

+ -1 moreI can't say enough about Healthy Homes. I GC'd my own home renovation and Ive had over 50 services providers at my home in the last year. Kevin Brenner and Healthy Homes rank tops in proffesionalism, price and overall service. The detail of the report blew me away and it was fantastic to see all the potential fixes listed in order of energy cost savings. These guys also had all the information on tax breaks or financing you can get from the local and federal government. Healthy Homes has a division that can execute the fixes or you can contract to do them with someone else. After doing a home renovation I know what these services should cost and I found Kevin's rates to be very competitive. I also know he runs a very reputable Building operation in our area. We are moving ahead and having Healthy execute the work later this month.
Description of Work: Healthy Home Energy & Consulting performed an Energy Audit for my 3500 sf home. We have a 200yr old home and wanted an extensive and detailed audit. For a flat fee Kevin Brenner and his team did numerous tests, including a blower door pressure test, Infared camera work and duct testing. Healthy Home then presented us with a twelve page report detailing the houses energy efficiency and most importantly cost effective fixes for each problem. This was the most scientific and detailed report Ive ever seen outside of a lab! I found Healthy Home on NY States NYSERDA website. You need to have all the proper certifications to get on that site. Surprisingly, the cost of this report was as high as $800-1000 at other providers I found there. And Healthy Homes work was much more useful than the limited "clipboard" report the electirc company was offering.
