So far we've had nothing but GREAT experiences with Herber Plumbing. Robert Herber came to give us a free estimate back in May and he gave us two options (one with a chimney vented boiler and the other with direct vented boiler). He also made recommendations on the water heaters. He was very knowledgable and friendly. He is definitely a people person. I was impressed that he remembered speaking to me over a year ago about another issue which we ended up resolving on our own thanks to his advice (a testament to his honesty and professionalism). This time his team was done within 3 days. Everyone was pleasant to work with and they explained everything in detail. It took a 1/2 day longer than expected due to a technical issue related to the boiler. They were alway happy to answer any questions we had and they answered them in way that made us feel like respected and valued customers. We will definitely be using Herber Plumbing again in the future.

My boiler has been leaking water due to pressure in the system. I set up the appointment with Herber and the technician was almost 2-hours late to show up. I let him know what was going on and that this situation needed to get fixed. I'm removing a bucket of water from my basement on a weekly basis. The technician spent about 15-minutes diagnosing my system and said he was fairly confident my water tank was not the problem but it was pressure valves. He spent another 45-minutes replacing the valves and making sure the system was ready. Unfortunately my system continued to leak and I called Herber back to look at it once more. Once again the technician was late and the dispatcher tried to get me to reschedule even though I took off from work for them to fix this. The technician looked over the system once again and was adamant that I need a new water tank. He refused to replace any of the valves he put in simply to ensure a defective item was not installed. He then just kept telling me that I need a new water tank and there's nothing else for them to do. A new water tank was quoted at $2800. My cost for the job was $650 and I was told they would give me a $200 discount on the water tank. I disagreed with the amount of the discount given the work done did not fix the issue and the diagnosis was completely wrong. They came back with a $325 discount on the system. I feel the price for the estimate is high and also I've now spent $650 on work that simply doesn't solve my problem. Given that getting someone to my house on time is difficult for this company and they mis-diagnosed my issue, I will likely get the work done by someone else.

Provider came on time and gave a free estimate which seemed very appropriate. The work was completed quickly. Everything was out back in place and left neat and clean. He mentioned that Herber had a special coupon for customers from Angies's list. Even though I did not I did not have the coupon, nor was I able to find it online he said that Herber would honor the $25 discount. I would definitely recommend Herber, and would definitely use their services again.

Herber Plumbing and Heating saved the day. During the coldest stretch of this ridiculously cold winter we had a pipe burst and, as a result, NO heat or hot water in the house. While everyone else I called failed to return our calls, Herber Heating and Plumbing actually picked up the phone on a Sunday! Dean was prompt and friendly, but most of all he did the job right.

The furnace at my mother's house was not working due to a seized blower motor. Of course this occurred when temps outside were below freezing. Tony arrived promptly to access the situation and gave us a quote. He had to order the replacement for us and said it would be a couple of days. Brrrrr. But later, Tony called to say he could take care of it the next day. Yay! When he came to the house he proceeded to place a protective covering over all of the flooring in his path and down the basement stairs all the way through to the back of the basement where the furnace is located. Tony was polite and professional and explained the work he was doing. He removed the old Lenox furnace which was original to the house. It had a good life. It was replaced with a Goodman Gas Furnace and whatever other materials were necessary to complete the job. Tony also upgraded the water heater exhaust at no extra cost to mom. He also honored the $100 Angie's List coupon bringing the cost to mom down to $2900. Tony also informed mom that stuff was falling in from the connecting chimney. He advised her to have the chimney looked at as soon as possible. We appreciate the care and concern he took in making sure that she would be safe even after his job was done. Turns out the chimney cap was totally rusted away allowing rain and snow to fall in . There was also evidence that squirrels had been using it as a nest. Yes, we took care of that the following week. Tony also cleaned up the area nicely when his work was completed. My mom took particular delight in how Tony rolled up all the floor covering from the furnace, up the stairs and out the door. Thanks for a job well done, Tony. Mom is now safe and warm on a frigid 9 degree day like today.

I called their number at 3:00 on Super Bowl Sunday, left a message and within 1 minute ( !!!) I got a call back where I gave my contact information. Within another 10 minutes "Shawn" called and said they could come today if we would pay an extra $200+ for Sunday emergency service plus their normal charge for the worked, which I felt was reasonable. Fortunately it was not an emergency so I scheduled the work for the following morning. Shawn provided an over the phone quote for snaking out the main pipe of $325, which was $70 less (Angies list discount)than normal. He said that I would be called at 8:00 the next morning with information on what time they would arrive. At exactly 8:00 on Monday, I am called and told they will be there between 9 and 1........and there is around 3 inches of slush on the ground. At 10:30, the truck pulls up and Jeremy proceeds to look at the waste pipe and SHOVEL MY PATH TO THE DOORSTEP to bring the snake machine up the steps to my home. He placed a drop cloth to keep the hallway/kitchen/steps to basement clean and proceeded to solve the problem in around 45 minutes. In addition, he provided some helpful tips that will hopefully reduce this problem in the future (don't flush wipes down toilet, don't use liquid plumber or Drano on old cast iron pipes etc.) I couldn't be happier with the service and in fact plan to use them on some nonemergency work in the near future. They are very professional.

it went well it took two weekends but herber was determined to fix the problem and they did. Thank you! thank you! I can not say enough good things about them. It's been years for us to find a reliable plumber someone you can trust. Jeremy was excellent he was truthful explained everything before he started made sure we understood and he didn't leave until we were satisfied.

difficult diagnosis, they thought they had it the first day but unfortunately the problem came back, I called and they had a tech at my house the next morning, this tech worked for almost 4 hours trying to figure out the problem and finally found the issue. Because I had paid for a repair the day before there was no charge. These guys are total professionals. I would never call anyone else for my home or business. I am very impressed

The customer service agent who took my call was very pleasant and professional. The plumber came during the appointed time slot, and quickly and professionally repaired the problem. However, that same afternoon, the toilet developed a separate problem (flapper valve leaked), and we called the company. The head of the company, Mr. Herber himself, called us right back and said he would have someone over first thing the next morning to fix it. That was OK, since nothing was leaking or needed emergency care. Sure enough, first thing the next morning, they were there and fixed the other problem. I think what makes a good company great is standing behind their work, and Herber Plumbing did that. I would use them again, and recommend them to friends.

Highly recommend Tony and his associates. They came, reviewed the project which was not a easy cookie-cutter new construction home and as promised the completed job was on schedule and for the agreed upon price. These guys went beyond good service trying to get an a/c system in an old early 1900's home with the least amount of visual mess and with one unit. They were clever technicians and craftsmen when it came to cutting my wooden floors for grill etc. Used the system all summer without a hitch and it cooled the house as promised. Thank you!

The company dispatched one of their techs? rather quickly. The tech that arrived (Scott) was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company for HVAC issues.

I called Herber Plumbing because my upstairs shower stall was leaking into my downstairs hallway. Bob came over the next day and gave me an estimate. I agreed to the price and we scheduled the work for that very Friday. The plumber showed up on time and was very professional and polite. He cut open the ceiling and repaired the drain. He basically replaced all of the drain plumbing for the shower, since the shower did not have a trap. Very happy with the service and will use them again.

went very well, they gave me an appointment between 12 -4. they called me shortly after setting appointment and said they can be there now if its okay with you(which i thought was great) . very punctual, polite. fast. the only reason i gave them a B for price is because i cannot tell you if the price was high or low or average, they were the first people i called, had the best reviews from angieslist so i only bothered with them. Overall i highly recommend them

Herber Plumbing was prompt, courteous and professional. They surveyed the problems, gave an estimate I considered appropriate, and performed the work efficiently. Equally important is what they did not do; try to convince me that more extensive work was needed in order to add to the charges. To me, that says a lot about a company interested in providing quality customer service.
