Water heater (19yrs old) started to leak. Had to be replaced ASAP as you never know when it will go. Excellent job. Price was as quoted. Timely repair within 2 days. Estimate was on Sat, replacement on Mon. Came in the morning and finished within 2 hrs.

The workman was on time and he knew exactly what to do, which can be tricky considering we live in a condo complex and the shutoff valves for our unit are in a crawl space. We could not be happier with the service and end result.

No problems. Pricing seemed fair, I'm sure there are cheaper plumbers out there but I prefer knowing they can get the job done quickly and correctly and have access to parts and support resources if it gets tricky rather than taking a chance on an unknown for the sake of a few dollars. They all charge a certain amount to walk through the door, it's comforting to know when you have someone tearing into your walls or floors to fix a broken pipe that they won't disappear for days and be full of excuses about why they couldn't get it done or tell you it's going to be more expensive than you thought after cutting a hole in your wall. I've had that experience before, never again! Highly recommend Herber, it's as stress free as a plumbing problem could possibly be.

I have used them a number of times. They generally do a good job. Their price is a little high. Their quality is good.

Went well, technician was polite and informative. Did not try and sell me on anything I didnt need, just gave an assessment of system, assured me it was running ok and was safe and told me to call if I needed anything else.

Could not have been better. Bob the owner and his team could not have been nicer or more professional. They could have easily convinced me I needed a new unit for around $5,000 a $6,000. (Combo units are expensive). But they took the time to do research, contact the tech staff at the manufacturer, and fixed my unit as good as new with a simple valve replacement at a fraction of the cost of a new unit. These guys are honest and do top notch work.

I texted Herber Plumbing on a Sunday afternoon about the faulty garbage disposal. I had a response first thing Monday morning. They were able to come over between 1-4. They called later and had an earlier opening which I grabbed. John arrived around 11 viewed the problem, gave me a price and went right to work. The work was completed and everything works fine. Would definitely call again.

When I called Herber plumbing after finding them here on Angie's list I was very confident in having them come out to my home. They had good reviews and the person who scheduled the appointment was friendly, kind, efficient and really wanted to help get someone to me as soon as she could. I cannot say enough about how nice she was. When the plumber arrived (Scott) I explained to him there are three issues (which I had told the woman on the phone): I have steam heating and the pipes bang when the heat is starting to come through. This only used to happen downstairs now it is happening upstairs and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a sign of a major issue, the second issue was my upstairs shower has a drip/leak happening and there is now lime deposits on the tile. I heard the leak and would like it repaired and the final issue is the major issue there is a constant sound of water running in the downstairs bathroom. It sounds like a pipe burst as it only stops if the main water supply to the house is shut. I was worried this would leak into the walls or basement and cause larger issues. First Scott and I went upstairs. He looked at the lime deposit and I showed him the pattern it was in and where the water was dripping from based on the location of the lime and wet area. He explained to me he didn't think it was a leak or drip as the type of tile I have in the bathroom is porous and needs to be sealed. He told me he didn't think it was originally sealed and I should go to home depot buy a sealer and attempt to do this on my own once I cleaned up the tile where the lime now is. I explained to him I thought it was sealed as I had the bathroom redone about seven years ago and no problems at all with this issue prior to now. Also I explained I heard the water dripping. Scott explained it was the minerals coming from the tile and I would need to seal it, they don't provide that service. He said it could be the shower cartridge but for him to replace that he would need to call the supply store in Brentwood and go pick it up then come back and repair it. The clock is already running and that would add a few hours to it. He clearly had no interest in fixing this or even actually checking the issue to determine if the cartridge needed to be replaced. The next issue was the boiler. We went to the basement to see the boiler and he informed me the boiler when installed was installed incorrectly. There was a loop that is normally put in and it was not put in here. He told me there was nothing he could do about this and that when it was installed it should have been done. He also explained with steam heating you will hear banging on the pipes. Then we went to the small bathroom with the running water sound. I told him about the sound explained I thought a pipe had possible burst or was leaking and this was the major problem he was called in for. Scott opened the toilet tank looked inside and said no you just need a toilet rebuild the water is running over. I said wow, ok that's wonderful. The toilet is about 7 years sold so I thought maybe since it is the guest bathroom and used more it could be possible. Scott quoted me $276 for the repair. Now I thought that was a high price as a new toilet (it's a small toilet and a small bathroom) would have cost me around the $200 mark but I was so relieved he identified the problem as a toilet tank issue not a burst pipe and he was already there I had him do the repair. Once the repair was complete he did not go over his work with me he showed me the bill, told me again the boiler was installed incorrectly and that I needed to seal the tile upstairs. He was friendly but honestly I got the vibe he wanted to be anywhere else. I at the same time had the chimney company in the house and my attention was not 100% focused so I thought maybe it was just me. Scott left and I then went into the bathroom to test the work, I flushed the toilet it worked properly and I walked out of the bathroom thinking well it was overpriced but it's fixed and you can't buy peace of mind. About two minutes later while I was in the kitchen I heard the running water...I walked back into the bathroom and the same noise that I had pointed out was there. I waited standing there for three or four minutes waiting to see if it was the tank and would stop, it did not. I called Herber plumbing immediately and they had him come back to the house. I brought him back in the bathroom and said it's still running the water. He listened and said oh that's not good...that's not good. He then started looking around and he asked what was under the bathroom, I said a crawl space he went into the basement saw there was no leak or water there came back up and I said the crawl space is accessed from outside. He did not open the crawl space. He told me it sounds like a pipe might have burst or a pin could have go into it or something pierced it. He turned off the water from the main and the noise stopped. He then explained he couldn't locate the leak, he would need to call in a demo crew and they would demo my bathroom starting at over $300 for the first hour and once they demo it if they don't find the leak they would have to go further and they would then once they find it could repair it but they don't redo bathrooms. He would need check anything further and just kept repeating how bad this was. I thanked him for his time and he left. I was not confident in him at all nor the company at this point. I knew there was an issue which is why I called a plumber, I needed help and all I got was an VERY overpriced toilet rebuild that I didn't actually need because that wasn't the problem. Also no offer of a refund or even a partial anything as that was work completed that was not needed. Over the weekend I had a repair man come to the house to ask what he thought about the leak, he opened the crawl space (that took him two minutes) saw two inches of water on the ground, shined a flashlight spotted the leak (which wasn't under the bathroom and had the bathroom been demoed the leak would not have been found) and told me he needed to look to see what happened to the pipe and fix it. The problem was fixed within an hour. I need to point out this is my first negative review on Angie's list and I struggled with posting it. In the about section of the company here it says it's family owned and operated and I don't want to harm anyone's business. However the truth is, I paid for an unnecessary repair...everything that is wrong in the house was something he claims someone did wrong and he couldn't help with and when it came to a major issue he didn't even take the time to look at the crawl space (the leak was located and identified by someone just opening the space and looking in). I truly felt like he wasn't my time and money. I took the day off of work to have repairs done and various companies come preform services. If he wasn't interested in doing the work or helping he should have been honest and let me call another company. Had I not gone with my gut potentially I could have an entire bathroom ripped apart down to the wood, a leak still there and have been left with a bill in the thousands. I'm sorry to say, I would beware before calling this company. This was a waste of time, energy, money and caused more stress instead of helping to fix the problem.

Would totally use them again in the future should the need arise. They were awesome!!!!

Arranged for all permits with the town, Arranged for new meter to be put in. All went smoothly. I will have them back to get estimate on difficult tub installation.

Went great!! They had great customer service, were on time and quick.

Shaun came by for an estimate, he seemed very knowledgable and quoted the job for us. After we agreed two of their employees came to run the gas line from the gas line in the basement to the back of the fireplace. The workers kept it clean and everything looked great when they were complete. I will use them for any plumbing needs going forward.

The toilet stopped working in the middle of the night. We called Robert in the morning. He came over the same day and replaced the interior mechanism. The charge was much less than I was expecting and the toilet now works perfectly.

He was very pleasant and professional. He reviewed the project and apparently believed it to be straight forward and he was gone in less than 10 minutes. We received the estimate via e-mail as we requested, however, this plumber advertises that financing is available, which we needed because the job is for my elderly mother who is on a very fixed income and cannot afford the quoted fee in a lump sum. We have spent the last two months trying to get a response from the office staff with regard to financing, but each time I call to inquire about the status of my request, I am given another promise of a return call that never comes. I contacted the bank to see if I could push the process along, but the bank informed me that they have no record of the Plumber calling them to inquire. I cannot give a review of the plumbers actual work because I cannot get past the office staff.

The gentleman was great. They sent someone right away.

I called them on Thursday, spoke to a nice lady there she said she would call me to let me know who they couldsend same day. I did not hear from her, but when i got home Thursday evening my mother told me the plumber came. I was pleasantly surprised i did not think anyone was coming. My mother said he was very pleasant and quick he happen to be in the area when he got the call. We needed help ASAP the hot water was leaking for more than a week. I have to say they were very good and glad we got that taken care of. Thanks again!

It was very old plumbing they took out, and were careful not to damage anything. Did great work! I noticed that I did not like where the toilet was installed, so I called them and they came back and moved toilet, and the toilets plumbing where I wanted it. Everything is great with my bathroom now.
