Excellent. Came when schedeled and were very professional. They took no shortcuts. Trenched all the way down to the basement floor and did the repairs just as they said they would. Left the place clean and neat. The big news is that we just had a deluge of 6 plus inches of rain and normally I would of had a flooded basement. There was not on drop in the basemet. BRAVO E&M. When my wife and I purchased our home, we were told there was water seepage in the basement and we needed to have it addressed. Eddie was very professional and thorough with his inspection of the perimeter of the house and basement, in particular the area in question. After thorough review, Eddie determined we didn't have any water seepage issues. After the inspection, Eddie spent some time giving us tips on protecting the basement and keeping it dry. When we called for the estimate, ECM gave a time to come and arrived ontime. We had already opened a wall to see where the problem was and ECM said this made their job much easier. Our basement needs to be redone so we were not concerned with any damage that would be caused. Most of the work was done outside, leaving the basement just the way they found it. When they gave us the estimate they told us they were very busy as so many people had these issues given the snow melt and heavy rains. They assured us the problem would not get worse prior to them fixing it, which is didn't. We scheduled an appointment for a few weeks later. Despite the heavy rains that week, they were able to complete the job. Not only did they arrive ontime, were very professional and completed the job in the timframe they expected, but someone even called later to see how the job went. Over several decades of experience with contractors, I have developed very high standards and expectations for work and service, and E&M Waterproofing exceeded them all -- on both occasions that I hired them: first in October 2013 and again in February 2014. In the first instance, we had water problems around the chimney area in the basement of my late sister's Staten Island home and I received a wide variety of diverse analyses and estimates from many contractors, but none seemed to really know what was causing the problem -- until I met Ed Mihelic, the president of E & M Waterproofing. He immediately understood the cause of the problem and provided a ten (10) year guarantee for his work. His workers showed up on time, worked diligently for several hours until the job was completed and cleaned up afterwards in a very professional manner without being asked. Best of all there has not been one drop of water in that area of the basment for the six months since the job was completed, in spite of record snow and rain. After the holidays we experienced a different water problem on the other side of the house and I immediately called Ed Mihelic from E&M. Again Ed was very responsive, came in person for the problem analysis and estimate -- and the work was completed in the same timely and professional manner as the first job -- and there has not been a drop of water in the basement in the three months since the second job was completed. E & M Waterproofing's high level of excellence in all they do under the superb leadership of Ed Mihelic meant a lot to me because I'm the sole administrator of my sister's estate with responsibility for the sale of the house, and I know she would want the house to be in top condition for the new owners so they can fully enjoy it as she did. Here's where Ed Mihelic's superb leadership really impressed me once again: Ed not only made the guarantee of his firm's work fully transferable to the new owners, but he took the time to talk with the prospective buyers, and he explained his work and the guarantee so well that the buyers were delighted and immediately placed a down payment on the house. I only had to wait one week between getting the estimate and having the work done. The men arrived 10 minutes early and were done in 3 hours. They dug down to the base of the foundation and repaired a crack and dug around the chimney and repaired cracks on each side. They also removed concrete from a window well and replace it with gravel. Ed called when the job started and again after it was complete to make sure everything went ok. With all the snow that has melted and the recent deluge of April rain I haven't had a single drop of water in the basement.

Job went well took 4 hours, rained all weekend and no leak did a great job

Carmine first came out to the house in July and suggested that we install new basement windows and window wells. We did this and things were fine till December , when we had water in the basement. Carmine came out again and inspected everything and suggested a partial french drain after conferring with Ed, the owner. Work was schedule for 1/2/2014. Ed called on 12/21/2013 to confirm that they would be there Thursday morning and not to worry about the weather, they would be able to do the job. We were scheduled to have a snow storm that day. He called at 7 am Thursday morning to say that he was sending extra crew members to do the job, the snow wasn't supposed to come till later that day and they would be finished by 12:30 - 1 pm. A group of 6 men came, dugout for the drain, installed sand, pipe, gravel, sump pump and on the outside a pop up drain. They also installed drain pipes from each window well to the drain. The area was cemented over. The crew left at 11:30 am, well before the time Ed said it would take. The men were professional, courteous and neat. You would never know that such a job was done that day, not a speck of cement dust was around. Ed came by to check on things and explain everything to me and called later that day to see if I was satisfied with the work that was done. So far there has been no more water in the basement and that is after several rain and snow storms. This seems to be the answer to our problem. I would definitely recommend them, the were terrific.

I called E&M on a Monday morning and left a message which was returned within an hour. An appointment was set up for the following day. Eddie from E&M was on time and very professional. He diagnosed the cause of the water leak and reviewed options for repairing. Once I decided to hire them the job was completed within the next week. The crew was at the job early and performed all the work expertly. The work area was cleaned up. A couple of days later we had very heavy rains and there were no leaks. Overall they did an excellent job and I would highly recommend E&M.

They found cracks in foundation to lower part of home. After several heavy rainfalls, we no longer get water leaking into our basement. Over the past 20 years, we have attempted to resolve this problem with a # of other contractors. We hope it is finally solved.

I called Ed to get an opinion as to what I should do to waterproof my basement. We just had a new boiler and hot water heater installed and I wanted to know what steps to take before we had a problem in the basement. I saw a little water last year after heavy rains so it was a concern. Called Ed Friday, he came out on Saturday and gave me his evaluation which was no work was needed in or around the basement or foundation. Wife was thinking about finishing the area so I needed that reassurance. He could have said some work was required but instead gave honest opinion which was to have some brick work done on chimney and wait til we get some heavy rains and see if that doesn't do the trick. He doesn't do brick work so he had no financial interest in giving me that suggestion. If I need any work or know anyone that does I would not hesititate to refer them to E&M Waterproofing.

We have had a major leak in our cellar for 10 years. We have tried many fixes-none were successful. In minutes, a solution was determined, and an estimate given. Shortly after the pricing, a team showed up to complete the work. they were professional, and quick! I was amazed that we were given a guarantee for the job. The owner has called twice to see if we were satisfied - and after a huge rain storm with not a drop of water, we are! I would recommend this company to anyone who as a wet basement!

Diagnosis of the original problem (the cause of water in my basement) - as opposed to other possibilities ) was fully explained, including an analysis of why other possibilities were not the cause. The suggested remedy was compared to other alternatives and reasons given why the recommended course of action should be chosen. Same day telephone follow - up to set a date for the work to be done. Another telephone call the day before to confirm, especially in view of the weather forecast which could have hampered or postponed the work. The crew was prompt, responsive to questions, neat and as clean as one could expect given that they were working in dirt for 8 hours. Eddie, (the owner) visited during the day and then called again, after the crew had left, to make sure we were satisfied to that point and to tell us what to look out for that might need them to revisit I can't imagine what they could have done better! I heartily recommend them.

The owner called the night before to confirm my appointment for the next morning. The owner and workers showed up the next morning on time. The work was done cleanly efficiently and I was very pleased. The owner came by in the middle of the job to check on the progress. He then came by at the end of the job and showed me what had been done. I have no leaks since the work has been done.

We got the dehumidifier and it worked GREAT!! No more puddles on the basement floor. We did not use him for thre French Drain because my husbands cousins came and surprised us and did it for free. I would have used E&M though---very reasonable price and very honest.

He gives you his cell phone number, and you can call him anytime, and he returns your calls. He keeps you informed, and keeps you in the loop with whats going on. He also called me afterwards to find out how everything was going on, and he said they would rectify any problems, but there were no problems. I have other issues related with that, and I will use them again.
