He actually stuck to the price on his quote from two years prior, and came and completed the job in half a day. When they encountered an issue with the exterior foundation in the process, they added a french drain on the inside of the basement at no additional cost. They clean up so well behind themselves you would never know anything was done, except that three months later there remains no water leaking in our home!

E &M provided a written estimate, and most importantly, set up a date that they would be available to do the work. Service was professional, efficient, and very neat. They showed up exactly when I was told they would to repair the foundation's crack and install a drywall to drain water away from the house and basement window. Basement has not leaked, at it has been two weeks since the work was done. I'm very happy with the work E & M did and would highly recommend them.

We moved into our house in September 2016. With purchase documents came warranty from E & M Waterproofing for work originally done in May 2014. Warranty is for 10 years and stipulated that it was transferrable to new owner. Had leak last week, and when we called them they were very responsive and fixed problem within a week at no additional charge.

Eddie was also very good with following up after work was completed. We had a minor issue with communication on the replacement on concrete present before the repair, but it was fixed shortly after. I could not be happier with the service provided by the owner Eddie and his wonderful crew. All other basement waterproofing companies that I met prior to Eddie insisted on installing a french drain, which I did not think would solve our problem nor was the need for a french drain ever properly explained to me by any of them. As I was starting to believe some or all of them might be a sales rep for french drain systems, I finally found Eddie through Angie's List. He took time to thoroughly inspect the basement in and out and explained to me why a french drain would not solve our problem. And to my surprise, he suggested waiting a bit until we have enough evidence of foundation leak from the next heavy rain or two to decide whether or not I should proceed with exterior waterproofing work as it is an expensive work. Eventually, I went ahead and proceeded with the exterior waterproofing work, and throughout the process, Eddie could not be more punctual, professional and thoughtful. His crew consisted of a full of hardworking good guys, whom I enjoyed having at my house. Two of the crew foremen have been with Eddie for more than 20+ years, and they lead/supervised the team during the entire duration of work and communicated with me as necessary. Even my general contractor and his crew were impressed by the quality of the work and how fast the crew worked. I had called Eddie back since to consult another potential problem, which was unrelated to the work done previously, and he happily came back to the house to inspect and then share his thoughts on it, shook my hand and left, without trying to sell any service/product. In short, Eddie's customer service is above and beyond and is a man of integrity who will only suggest the work that is needed. I will be recommending E&M Waterproofing to all of my neighbors and friends.

Eddie went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the work his company did. He was always a phone call away whenever we had questions for him. That was ultimately the deciding factor for us when we were deciding which company to choose. We knew if we had any questions or issues, we didn't need to go through multiple people and wait for weeks to get a reply. The work that his workers did was a solid job. We had a minor issue after the job was completed and he worked with us throughout until it was resolved. If you want an honest company with quality work at a very competitive price, E&M is the company to go with.

He was not to able to tell me exactly what the issue was because no water was present. He was courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. He wouldn't do the work unless he was able to determine exactly what the issue is, which would be determined the next time water shows up. He showed me how to determine if the water is a plumbing issue that way I'll know if I need to use his service.

During heavy rainstorms, a few times each year, about 1-3 gallons of water would get into our basement along one side of our house. Our foundation is built with brick and the mortar is over 100 years old and is in deteriorated condtion. While not a flood, we got tired of mopping up water and drying carpets. We contacted companies for estimates, including E&M Waterproofing. The other two companies were a general contractor and another specialist in basement waterproofing. We quickly eliminated the general contractor due to his limited experience. We were initially going to pick the other waterproofing company who offered to use a harder (but slower drying) cement and a more expensive waterproofing material (Tegraseal vs Vortex). However, the other company wanted a 10% payment in advance before the work was even scheduled, making me feel like a fish on a hook. With E&M Waterproofing, payment was not due until the last day, when the work is complete. So how did the work go? E&M Waterproofing arrived on the scheduled day and completed the work in two and a half days, as promised. They arrived at 8:00 am with a 5 person crew an by the end of the first day, they had removed the old walkway that was adjacent to the wall, dug down to the foundation for half of the wall, and added waterproofing to that half, and backfilled the dirt. On the second day, they dug out the other half, waterproofed it, backfilled, and prepared the ground for cement the next day. On the 3rd day, they made some requested adjustments to the walkway (I wanted it a little wider and longer than the original), lay down a new cement walkway, and finished by noon. E&M Waterproofing used standard waterproofing materials. After the trenches were dug alongside the house (about 45 feet total, the brick was cleaned an initial layer of fast-drying Hydraulic cement was applied to fill in gaps & cracks in the mortar and create a more even surface. A black exterior waterproofing coating was then pained onto the Hydraulic Cement. Large sheets of Vortex bentonite waterproofing material where then attached to the wall, on top of the painted waterproof coating. In case you are unfamiliar with bentonite, it is a clay-like material that absorbs water and becomes a self-sealing water barrier. It is widely used in dams, landfills, and building waterproofing. The bottom line is the work was correctly performed and was completed on schedule at the promised price. Exterior waterproofing is expensive, but the price we paid was in line with estimates from other professional basement waterproofers. Of course the final success will not be known until we experience a few heavy rainfalls or a tropical storm. .

Ed and his crew spent half a day removing patio bricks and vinyl siding in area to be waterproofed. They then trenched the area and replaced water-damaged wood before installing a rubber barrier; recementing and finally replacing all removed items. Job was quick and professional -- so much so that it was hard to believe that such a relatively small amount of work could stop the magnitude of the leak we were experiencing with every rainfall. And yet, here we are over a month later and I'm happy to report that the leak had indeed disappeared. Highly recommended.

The whole process was seamless. Ed showed up, assessed the situation, explained what needed to be done to resolve my leaky basement and crawlspace. Every detail was covered. After multiple heavy rains i haven't found a drop of water in my basement & crawlspace. Ed has this down pat! Top notch customer service and work!

I meant to write this review for a long time, since Eddie came. He was very nice and friendly and knew his business very well. We saw other contractors who advised us a French drain for 25K and another contractor for 15K. Eddie advised us to waterproof from the outside as opposed to the inside (that makes total sense) and to install a humidifier for $1800. We ended up not using Eddie's services and patched all possible holes where water could come in from the outside. Now our basment is dry. Thank you Eddie!

This past June I had pavers installed in my backyard this & have had water in my basement since. The contract who installed them could not resolve the problem, or should I say did not really try. I was really tired of mopping up after every rain storm. I contacted E&M Waterproofing, I was told that someone would contact me within 24 hours and within an hour Ed himself called. The next day he said someone would contact me for an appt and the next day Matt called. We set up a mutually convenient appointment. Matt came by looked over the basement where the water was coming in, looked over the problem, gave me an estimate. Which was very fair. Matt was very professional & arrived on time. I decided to proceed with the work. Once again 5 very professional men came at 8:30Am and by 12:30PM they had completely dug out around my foundation, chiselled out the cracks of which there were several, sealed, back filled, and replaced my pavers perfectly. Ed & Matt both came by to see how the job was going brought the men coffee and donuts, well deserved. We have had some heavy downpours & have not had a drop of water in my basement. I highly recommend Ed and his crew. It's hard to find workers of this caliber today as I have been dealing with many contractors over the years. Ed and his crew are A+ Thank you again Mary Ann Fauth
