First, they were very responsive when I called for a estimate. Then, showed up on time for the appointment to do the estimate and talk about the job. We scheduled the date for the job, and they kept it as promised. The crew came in at the scheduled time. Were extremely professional. Very clean - covered my floors and were very careful with my house. Worked very hard to get the job done. What was very impressive was that they noticed that really I needed to extend the length of the french drain. Did so on their own and didn't charge me more for it (it wasn't a huge amount of increased length). The end result job was exactly as described and promised. The owner came by during the day as well to check out the job and ensure it was all going as planned. He talked to the crew, reviewed the work and spoke to me to ensure I was satisfied. I would highly recommend this firm for any work you would want on your basement. Very fair, knowledgeable, professional and friendly.

Ed (company owner), called the night before to give an estimated time when his men would arrive. Team arrived at approximately 8:30am (as promised). To tell you the truth, demolition was so quiet and quick, I didn't realize they were done until I went outside only a short time after their arrival. Installation was just as quick. All work was completed in approximately 4 hours. The area was left clean (as it was before they arrived). Ed called within an hour to inquire if I was satisfied with the work (which I was, and have been!).

Very satisfied with the work, but it has not rained so we still don't have a final verdict.

I got two estimates for waterproofing our basement. One suggested a dry well system for over 6,000 Dollars. The second estimate was by E&M Waterproofing, for $ 1,200. After the owner of E&M explained to me in detail why I did not need a dry well system, and then described the work he was going to do, I went with E&M. They did the work thoroughly and quickly. My basement has been bone dry since, and this is now July 2010, i.e. 10 months later. I would recommend E&M to anyone with water problems in their basement.

We never got a drop of water again. I would say the price was very much worth it, they worked very hard.

Very well overall. Unfortunately the entire east end got flooded so it took a week to get an estimate and 2 months to get the work done. I dealt with Steve who is a gentlemen and Ed who was excellent at communicating to me exactly when the work was going to be done. Work was done to satisfaction would use again and recommend to others.

The overall experience was good and I would use E&M again.

They infomed me that the problem could not be fixed and didn't try to force any services on me. They also did not charge me anything.

The work crew arrived promptly as promised, completed the job expeditiously and thoroughly cleaned up the site. Company owner, Ed Mihelic, came by to assure that everything had been done as promised. After several very hard rain storms, it is a pleasure to have our basement bone dry! When my lawn crew damaged the 'pop-up' drain they installed to carry down-spout water away from the foundation, they repaired it immediately without further charge. We heartily recommend Ed Mihelic without reservation.

A very good experience. Both the estimate and the job itself were done in a very prompt and professional manner. Everyone showed up on time, acted properly, and the results were as expected.

Ed's crew arrived as scheduled, proceeded to tell me everything they were going to do. that included digging up along the foundation & all surrounding landscaping, drilling & chiseling out the foundation from top to bottom, & repairing the crack & sealing it so it wouldn't leak anymore.they finished in a reasonable amount of time, & put all the landscaping back the exact way they found it. It actually looked like I got a delivery of topsoil & put it in my front garden, PLUS they raked & bagged leaves that were in the garden!! that's how thorough & neat they were. I waited 6 months to post a report because I needed time to test their work. As anyone knows we have had more than our fair share of rain the last few months. Not ONE DROP of WATER in my basement. I also want to say, Ed came over, gave me a written estimate with a detailed account of what I needed done. I called him 2-3 times with questions, he always answered them for me & was courteous every time. Once I was sure I wanted to hire him & the price was fair, I set it up & the work was done a few days later. I wish dealing with other contractors was as easy as dealing with Ed.

They were efficient and professional. They were timely as well. Everything was great. The price was reasonable for the amount of work that they did.

They were very direct, and they took the time to answer all of my questions. They were very punctual, and they had a good rating on Angie's List. I would highly recommend them so far.

I joined Angie's List because I live in Maryland and my elderly mom lives on LI, she depends on me to maintain her 60 year old home from afar and Angie's List is the perfect vehicle that helps me do that. It rained heavily on LI in August '08. My mom's basement flooded each time after 4 storms over a 2 week period that month. I found E & M Waterproofing on Angie's List while my mom was in the hospital, was very impressed with its ratings so didn't need to get other estimates, and called them from Maryland to diagnose and fix the problem. Eddy returned my call almost immediately, was extremely busy but found time to go to her home, called me again to tell me there were 2 cracks in the front and 3 cracks in the rear of her basement foundation. He gave me a good price to seal them - $600 each for the front cracks and $700 each for the back cracks for a total of $3,300.00. The back cracks were $100 more because E & M had to dig up her cement patio to get to the cracks. E & M did the work on a Saturday which was great for me because I didn't have to time off from work and could travel to LI on Friday night. E& M workers punctually showed up at 8 am and finished the job by 2 or 3 pm. The crew had to manually dig five 10 foot holes close to the house which they did in a few hours. The front and backyards looked like war zones but they left the job tidy, including repairing the cement patio and not disturbing shrubbery. While digging, they discovered and repaired a slow leak from a cesspool pipe that enters the basement. When they left, you would not know that they were ever there. It has rained several times since the job was completed and the basement remains dry. I have a 10 year guarantee. I am very pleased with E & M and highly recommend them to others.

The job went relatively smoothly. The crew did not have the right saw to cut through part of the deck, so 2 men left to pick it up. It has only been two weeks since the job was done, and we have not had extensive rain yet, so I am still waiting to confirm that it solved the issue.

The owner is very reliable and shows up when he says he will. It's somewhat still in process but he's working well with us to come up with new ways to take care of things.

Owner arrived for initial consultation as promised. Went over, in great detail, the work that was needed and why. Explained the job from start to finish, answering all our questions. There was no sales pressure. He left us with written price quote and literature describing the job and other remedies and materials used. He told us to take our time reviewing material and call with questions. Owner called the day before to see if we had questions and to give us the name of the foreman and crew. They arrived on time and went to work right away. We knew the job would be difficult, loud and messy with cement dust all over the house but it was much better than we expected. The dust was well contained and the noise was tolerable. There were no surprises; the workers were done when they said they would be. The owner visited during the morning and called later on to check-up. The workers invited me downstairs to check the progress. The owner called that evening to be certain all went well and again several days later to thank us!

The job went very well, and it was completed in one day as was indicated. Also, a system that diverts rain water, via roof leaders, away from the foundation was also installed at no additional charge. An unforeseen obstruction (concrete that was poured in front of the foundation) was removed at no additional charge. The crew worked to complete the job in one day, as I was told it would be.

Did a great job. Very good price. They didn't backfill properly, when the dirt settled, there is a little sinking around the home. They advised that they would be back to fix the issue.

We had several other contractors out before hiring E & M; they insisted we needed a French drain system which is expensive and invasive to the interior of the house. E & M came and promised us, in writing that if he was wrong and his treatment didn't remedy the problem, he would install the French drain at no charge. Six days after he came; the big rain storm came and it was 95% better than before the repair. I called him and he said it takes 10 days for the plastic material to dry completely and that is why there was some leakage. He backs his work 100%, has a ten year written guarantee and I very highly recommend him.

Ed (company owner), came to give estimate. Scheduled to do work about 2 weeks after given OK. Calls the night before and the morning of work to give ETA. 3 man crew, right on time. Neat and courteous. Replaced downspout at no extra charge. All work completed in a few hours, and done as promised. High quality workmanship. If all contractors were this conscientious, we wouldn't need a BBB. PS: no more leaks!! (but work is guaranteed for life, just in case)!!

It seems to be working so far. They performed the work well and I'm satisfied.

THIS IS THE BEST WATERPROOFING COMPANY I HAVE EXPERIENCED. THEY ARE WONDERFUL! WHENEVER THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE WATER ENDS UP SEEPING THROUGH, THEY REPAIR IT FOR NO COST. HE ALSO INSTALLED A SUMP PUMP AND DRAINS FOR NO COST.

THIS COMPANY IS HIGHLY STAFFED WITH THE SMARTEST WORKERS. I HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT ALL WAS DONE BUT I KNOW WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY BASEMENT FLOODS SINCE. I AM SO GLAD THAT I CALLED THEM.

WE HAD OUR BASEMENT WATERPROOFED SO IT WOULD NOT GET FLOODED. THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB. WHEN THEY WERE DONE, I COULD NOT EVEN TELL WHAT THEY DID, BUT WE HAVE NOT HAD A FLOOD SINCE.
