Description of Work: The contractor did an excellent job. He had his workers protect my deck and flowers during the construction process. When the contractor finished the job all areas around my home were clean and free of debris.

The job was completed, and as far as I knew, it was done correctly. Recently, we contracted another roofer to finish the roof - areas not done in 2005. When they began the job, they came to me and said that the front slopes of the house had not been done to code, and had too many layers on it. This was not an area of the roof they were doing, but their part would be butting up to this other part, and so their were issues because of it. They had the code enforcer of the village of Warsaw come over, and he confirmed that the roof was not done to code of 2005, and had too many layers on it. I have pictures showing the many layers on this part of the roof. I immediately contacted Mr. Dibble from Security Roofing (by phone, around 8/10/11) and explained the situation. He said he would get back to me. 2 weeks went by and I sent him a letter explaining that the roof was out of code, was being damaged by the extra weight, was creating a problem with the transition of the new roof to the old roof because of the thickness of the old roof, and was creating a problem for us selling the home (because it was not at code) and would likely be turned down by bank inspectors. I did not hear back from him after the letter, and called again. He finally called back and met with me at my home in early September. He first told me he was only supposed to tear off the valley, not the slopes, but I pointed out that the proposal clearly states that the front slopes would receive roofing. Then he, and another foreman, said that another resident of the house at the time was giving them trouble with the job, and that somehow explained why it wasn't done right. I, being an owner, was the one signing the proposals and writing the checks (not this other resident), and so this excuse does not carry weight with me. I was never told of the problem (even though I was living in the home, had a phone # to reach me) and a roof should be done to code no matter what someone at the property is saying. At our meeting in September, Mr. Dibble said he would fix the problem (reroof it), but it wouldn't be until spring. He said he had to talk to some town folks before he would get back to me, and I needed to talk to my relatives (co-owners) as well. I talked to the code enforcer again, and he has given me a statement saying that this portion of the roof should not have been done the way it was (in 2005 - 1 layer of shakes, 3 of shingles) and was a violation of NYS Building Code. I told him that Mr. Dibble had offered to do it in the spring, and he said to make sure I got it in writing, and what month he would do it. I really feel like he should have done it this season because the house is on the market, but if that is not possible, at least give me something in writing with a month. I have contacted (left messages) two times by phone in the last three weeks, requesting this writtien agreement and date, but he hasn't even called me back.
Description of Work: I co-own the home with my brother and sister-in-law who live in Florida. We contracted Security Roofing to do a few areas of our roof - front two slopes, front porch, and back porch. I signed the proposal in April of 2005, and work proceeded soon after.
