There was no water supply in the house. He was going to bring some high pressured pump to check for plumbing leaks. When he arrived he didn't have any instruments with him. There was no faucet in the kitchen, no shower head in the bathroom, and there were exposed pipes as well. I paid him $400 for the inspection report that I never received, and never received a receipt for it. He stated that the inspection would be free, and would give me an estimate for work that needed to be done based on that report. He began talking to me about remodeling work that I did not need, when i just needed basic work done. He stopped communicating with me and I have not heard since.
Description of Work: I hired this company for a condo inspection and some work that needed to be done based on the report on the inspection.

Response from Richie and Sons Builders & Renovations Experts
[member name removed] called me for a home inspection. I notified I notified him that it is $600.00 going rate he asked for a cheaper price. I agreeded to $400.00. I gave him a thorough inspec. & notified him of his violations which was water damage pipe leaks, no faucets, falling sheet rock, painting & gave him the report I told him if he corrected it all at once & hired my company for the work, sign a contract I would give him a $400.00 credit towards my entire contract price. He Agreed by e-mail. He then asked me to come & start the job I told him he would have to sign a contract and give me a deposit thats when he said no he already gave me money & was not signing a contract & per our agreement so I told him to find someone else who will work for free because I do not. Obviosly he paid me 400.00 For an inspection only which I did for him so there is no refund if he could have gotten it for free why would he pay me $400.00

Overall it was awful. They never showed up on time. Each time I paid an installment they would not show up for a whole week. The job never past inspection leaving the rooms still unlivable. They made several mistakes which caused damage to my home. Took no care in my property at all, and turned out to be very unprofessional. They frequently brought a dog (pitbull) with them to my home, then told us to stay away from it, because the dog was a rescue and was dangerous, I have 4 small children in my home, and do not need a dangerous animal on my property. They smoked inside the addition while building it. They did stop this when asked though. I will now list the problems I have had since. Starting with the outside. 1. they tore apart my driveway, they were supposed to fix it, they never did. It is mostly just dirt now. 2. They tore apart my lawn by driving over it with their machine, this was to save on their part and not have to hall away the dirt. They were supposed to re-seed my lawn, they did not, it is wrecked. 3. They left garbage EVERYWHERE. Cans, material, even items from other job sites were left on my lawn (a window that did not come from my home) They also removed a bumper from their truck and left it in my yard. 4. they did not finish painting, sanding, etc. They did not supply hardware or screens for the windows they put in. 5. They left a hole cut in my wall during the hurricane (from the outside) The insulation soaked, the water came in through the house, destroying my floors, and causing mold to grow in my house. The builder looked at this and called it "no big deal" 6. they left exposed wires and insulation all over my house for weeks at a time, I have 4 small children including a toddler who gets into things. 7. they knocked down a portion of my fence to dump rock behind it and left it leaning on the ground. they removed my awning and light from outside and never replaced them. 8.they did the framing wrong. framing around trim 9. the roof leaks. 10. most importantly, they destroyed my foundation. Leaving the hole around my house dug out for much longer than it should have been, my existing foundation sank and my floors, walls, and cabinets shifted. 11. they painted and did not cover my floors, leaving them stained and ruined. 12. they used mixers inside on my uncovered wood floors, causing the wood to buckle from the water that splashed out When questioned on his practices the owner of the company often became angry, he threatened us more than once with physical violence, and even pushed me once while walking down my driveway.
Description of Work: They came to put an addition on my home. Two bedrooms. They also moved a door for me and did roofing. They were supposed to do my bathroom as well, but because of the problems we had with them, this never got done. The addition was supposed to be the entire length of my house, it turned out being much less than that, but was made wider than the original plan, I still lost 20 square feet which was not reflected on the price (we were charged the same) The bedrooms were supposed to be roughly 12x18 and 12x12 but turned out being 12x16 and 12x14 instead, only one room was given a closet. The hallway which went through an existing room in our home (we lost that room) was also given two closets, only one was given a door. The rooms were to be painted, finished, etc.... heat and electric was done. A new foundation was dug out underneath. And the addition was sided to match the rest of my house. The contract also called for a pump, fill, and a power wash, but these were not done.
