Great! Jack very promptly gave me an estimate and told me he'd probably be able to do the job the following week. He called the next day to tell me that due to the rainy weather, they had time to fit me in since they wouldn't be able to work outside on the job they'd had scheduled. He and his crew actually showed up early to prep for the job (spackle and tape) and do some some cutting in. The following day they were back bright and early to finish the job. I had to go out the second morning but had no qualms in leaving Jack and the crew in the house. When I left my furniture was in the center of room, covered in tarps. When I came back 2 hours later the painting was done, furniture was all in place and a few pictures back on the walls. They'd even vacuumed! The place looked great. The bathroom, which was originally painted a darker green, required 2 coats of the pale yellow I had chosen. A few days later I realized that a 3rd coat was needed. I called Jack and within a couple of days the bathroom had its 3rd coat and looks terrific. All of the trim is a bright white semi-gloss and I couldn't be happier. The crew prefers to work straight through rather than breaking for lunch and that was fine with me. I have already recommended J&D to a couple of friends.

Jack was great from start to finish. He gave a very reasonable estimate, was in touch leading up to and after the work. He worked while we were away, and we were so pleased to come home to a beautiful job. We will definitely hire Jack again!

We just had crown molding installed in our home and while things were moved out of our primary rooms and the floors were covered we wanted to have the rooms painted. Jack came to our home right away and I had an estimate from him within 24 hours. All seemed great. We were given a start date which was reconfirmed twice (as this was extremely important given the state of the home) ...2 days prior Jack emailed and said he can't start on that date because another customer that was 'backing out' did not so he pushed us back ten days. My reply was 'oh, not good'. Our home has been pulled apart with furnishings moved out of rooms, floors covered, etc and Jack understood the importance of having this job started as soon as possible while in this condition which was to make it easier for painters to come in and do the work... in any event this has left us with no time to get anyone else. A few days went by and I emailed Jack asking if he could also paint the crown molding and add that to the quote... he said he could and said he "I thought you were upset about the date, but obviously you could not get anyone to do it faster". I really was not quite sure how to take that comment. I told him I was upset. He understood that our home is torn up and this delay makes it that much more difficult. Jacks reply was that if I am upset I should find another painter! So if you hire Jack, make sure you show signs of being happy no matter what otherwise you will be left in a lurch as we are. Thanks Jack!

He contacted me quickly, and scheduled a time to get the work done promptly. We bought the painter for a day but ended up using him plus 2 helpers for a total of two half-days because the crew worked from 7 a - 1 pm. The end cost was comparable to what I would have paid another painter per day but because he had helpers, the work was done in a more time efficient way. In the end, there was not much cost savings to me. Also, the window trim work was acceptable for my purposes (selling the house) but was not the best job since his crew basically painted over chipped paint and didn't take the time to scrape it all off. Overall, I was satisfied with the work because they got it done on my timeline for the budget I had in mind.

They did a good job when they finally came. But at first, they couldn't find the house and canceled on us before the appointment was even scheduled. We weren't happy with that. But, they rescheduled and came back a couple of weeks later and did a decent job on the house. I didn't have to pay anything additional.

This was our first experience with J & D Painting which proved to be excellent. We were very impressed with the constant communication all along the way with when and how all facets of the job would be accomplished. They arrived at the times they said they would and completed the project in a timely manner. We experienced a plumbing glitch in the laundry room portion of the job which caused a delay and a bit of rescheduling, but they were understanding and very accommodating. They did a thorough and beautiful job; we couldn't be more pleased with the results of their work. They were considerate of our house and us and always left things clean. We would not hesitate to call on them again.

Will have them back for other rooms before the conclusion of the year.

very professional covered floors and worked steady to complete job quickly and neatly

I went great, the workers were careful and considerate and quiet. They protected our belonging and our home from any spatters or messes as they worked. The sloped ceiling has several dark colored deep wooden beams running lengdthwise and breaking up the ceiling area; the ceiling also has dark woodwork surrounding the perimeter of the room. The painters cut in the light colored ceiling paint with straight clean lines and covered the acoustic ceiling planks evenly. Excellent detailing! And pleasant workers.

Jack and his crew did a great job. They showed up on time, were efficient, neat and cleaned up after themselves. It was a pleasure to have them and relieved as we have worked with other contractors with not so pleasant results. I would highly recommend his services.

We have had several painters. Jack and his team were by far the best. They started at 7 am and worked till the job was done. The room was quite large, with vaulted ceilings. They were extremely efficient and professional. Took care of our home as if it was there's. Have lots more work for Jack and his team! Thanks Jack, for making what could have been a stressful day stress free!

Jack, Ken, and Tom arrived at approximately 7AM. They worked non-stop for about six hours. In addition to painting, they repaired damaged walls and were able hide defects in the ceiling caused by leaks.Jack picked up the paint for us and provided all the tape and other tools needed to complete the job. Before leaving all they moved the furniture back and vacuumed the floor.. Great job.

I purchased the Big Deal for a painter for the day for $299. The owner Jack O'Brien contacted me within a day and set up a convenient time for him to come to look at what I wanted done. I set up the appointment with him to paint a bedroom. From the first meeting, it was very obvious he was an experienced painter. Since I was unsure of a color choice he came prepared with paint colors that made choosing the right color easy. He knew exactly how much paint would be needed to complete the job. Jack arrived at my house right on schedule and he and a partner immediately began setting up. They placed drop cloths from my front door into the bedroom. The moved some furniture out of the room, taped all woodwork around windows and baseboards, and even removed doors so there would be no paint splatter. Old heat vent covers were removed and they installed new ones for me. They painted the ceiling and walls with two coats of quality Sherwin Williams paint. The entire project took less than three hours and was done perfectly. I have never had a painter do such amazing work. The room is perfect and looks just beautiful. I could not have asked for more. The price was exactly as advertised. Their were no unexpected hidden charges. If any member of Angie's List is looking for a top-notch painter who knows how to do quality work, at a reasonable cost, this is the company to call. You will not be disappointed. I have already made plans to have them paint more rooms in my house. Thank you Jack and Tom. You are absolutely amazing.

We hired J & D Painting in April, then vacated the house, giving them the key while we were on vacation. In less than two weeks our home was completely painted and left in excellent condition. It looks brand new! They cleaned everything up, and no mess was left behind. They are a very honest, trustworthy and reliable company. They stayed in contact with me via phone, email and texting to communicate their progress.

He has been painting for us and our friend for years. He always comes on time, always meets his price, and does a good job. He has a nice crew. We had a problem with the shingles on our house, part of the house they had to hand stain as opposed to machine, Jack he got me in contact with the person concerning the warranty on the stain. We were able to get free stain to cover the entire house.
