JS arrived on time and got right to work. They excavated the existing asphalt driveway and a smaller concrete pad that was adjacent to the driveway. Apparently, the concrete pad was not listed on their work notes. After the excavation work was complete I spoke with the owner (Jim) who suggested that I needed to pay more because they incurred an additional cost to excavate and dispose of it. I made it clear to him that I pointed out the concrete pad when I received the original quote. After a brief negotiation, I agreed to pay a small amount to help offset some of the cost. Despite the confusion over the concrete, I found the crew was friendly and professional. They jumped right in to help me move some buried electrical wire and an underground dog fence. Their equipment was clean and new. They cleaned up the street and surrounding area. I thought the driveway turned out very well. My advice would be to review the contract prior to allowing the crew to start the work to ensure everything is covered and there are no loose ends. I suppose this would apply to any sort of work performed by an outside contractor.

Had a rough time scheduling the appointment. Was a little discouraged because they did such a good job in putting the driveway in last year. The service to seal and deliver top soil didn't seem to have the same level of interest as before. In fact, I will need to redo some of the topsoil work.

They did an excellent job. They were very professional and it was well done.

They had paved my neighbor two doors down the previous year (2012) so I could see they did quality work. Both my next door neighbor and I signed up to have our driveways repaved this summer (2013) , which also gave us a discount for having the work done at the same time. J.S. were very easy to work with and were very flexible with scheduling. They completed the work and did an excellent job. I've given their contact information to a friend who is considering paving their gravel driveway. When another contractor did not show up to do a drainage job, J.S Asphalt were willing to add a drain and fix someother issues near my house. I would definately use them again if needed.

They were excellent. They did some extra stuff for me because I ran into some problems and when they were re-doing it, my front steps had to be taken out because they were so old that they were deteriorating. They were kind enough to remove them for me while they had their equipment. We have worked on a deal, it is very easy to make a compromise with them. I found them very friendly. We have like 5 or 6 estimates. The quality of the driveway is very good. Their responsiveness was excellent.

I waited until spring to review their work because I wanted to see how the paving held up throught he winter. I'm happy to say the work held up beautifully; no cracking or heaving at all. It was an excellent job.

Jim and his crew completed our asphalt driveway and concrete sidewalk. I would not hesitate to hire or recommend this company. The job was of excellent quality and professionalism. This is a family owned business and their reputation is based on the job performance and project completion. If you need a driveway completed call J. S. Asphalt. I am sure you will be as pleased with the end project as I am.

The resurfacing of the driveway was good. However, they indicated they need to perform sealing the next year to maintain the warranty. I contacted them. After numerous calls on my part, I got through and they stated there was a death in the family that took them out of town. They scheduled the resealing on a date that I was working; I thought it would be fine because they did a good job on resurfacing job. They did an inferior job sealing the driveway. They splattered the side of the garage when they sealed the walkway to the garage side door. The application of sealer was splotchy. There was a 5 foot wide area in front of the garage doors that were barely covered with seal coating. I called them and left numerous messages asking for them to call me back. There was no response. I gave up.

J and S is a very professional company. They responded to us immediately and came to look at what we needed done. They gave us an estimate for the job along with references. Since it was late in the year , weather permitting they completed the job on the weekend. We were very pleased with their work and their flexibility to get the job completed. We will use them again in the future.

Outstanding experience with J.S. Asphalt! I would hire them again and I highly recommend them. The entire driveway looks awesome! Great pitch, nice edges and the water just sheds off. We have nice transitions to the garage and several walkways. More details: The owner came on time and gave the job cost estimate for repair and laying topcoat, 375 feet of driveway. Jim left a very good impression, listened, had great solutions for the driveway and some topsoil work. As a reference check and due to the size of this job, I then drove by 7 driveways listed on their reference list to check out their work and in addition I personally spoke with another 4 people who has used JS Asphalt before. All 4 had very positive experience and the other 7 driveways I drove by looked great and had a good pitch. We (as well as 3 other neighbors) signed up. A larger bad section of the bottom of the driveway was dug out Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning they delivered and spread topsoil for a non-related project. They arrived early Monday and started repair of several bad driveway areas. They added stone, power rolled and substantially re-graded the bottom part of our driveway. The pitch of the driveway is now great, much improved and water sheds off nicely in stead of pooling at the bottom of the driveway. They paved the repaired areas with binder. They pre-filled other low areas with topcoat. Then they carefully paved up in front of the garage with topcoat, power rolled and tamped all edges nicely. Then they paved the entire driveway with 2" of topcoat, power rolled and tamped all edges nicely. They spread topsoil (not included, but fair price) and cleaned up the street and the property. I'm very happy with their work. Jim is easy to work with and I would hire in JS Asphalt again. Timely, high quality, professional. The owner Jim is with the crew working during the entire project. And finally, but not least: a very responsive office! Heidi is either right there or returns your call quick. A pleasure to work with.
