Description of Work: We used Brookside Nursery for landscaping. They did a new walkway. They brought back the original walkway for the house. The house is about 100 years old. They brought back the original plate and resurfaced it. They did some brick and mortar type work and they also did some landscaping with plants, some mulch, and stuff.

+ -1 moreAfter a week, he came out, looked and measured our backyard. Told us he'd get back to us after 2 weeks with an estimate. After 3 weeks I called and said he's almost done and would have it in 2 days. Now after another 3 weeks, we have heard nothing so we are moving on and asking another company, but the summer is lost. Why come to a home show to get new business then not follow through?
Description of Work: Needed backyard design for hardscaping, privacy plantings and shade. They were at the Saratoga home show and liked their display so took a card. After the snow melted, emailed them to come out and give us an estimate. Never responded nor did they return a phone call. Should have taken that as a sign. Finally reached their designer on 3rd call.

+ -1 moreWe purchased the tree and had them plant it at an additional cost. It came with a one-year warranty. This spring, we noticed the tree had not survived the winter so I contacted them in early May, 2013 regarding a replacement. They suggested we wait a month to see if the tree would recover. It did not, so I called again and they said they would replace it. A month later, it had not been replaced, so I called again. Now they said a replacement was not yet available. Called again in July, call was not returned. Called in August and was told it was too hot, will replace in September. No replacement in September so called on 9/30 and call was not returned. I've left yet another message today. I've done business with Brookside Nursery for the last 10 years and previously had good experience. It appears that they no longer provide good customer service and so far, they have not honored their warranty.
Description of Work: Brookside planted a Crimson King Maple tree for us in May of 2012

+ -1 moreThe work was pretty good while they were doing it. A year later a lot of the blue stone began to peel off. I realized that they had given me some kind of a cheap knock off blue stone rather than the real thing. I called them and they refused to make good on it. Regarding the price I thought it was a little expensive, but to get the actual blue stone that I wanted I was ready to pay for it. When it began to peel off they did not give a satisfactory explanation, any reduction or anything of that nature. Basically since that all happened several months later they kind of blew me off.
Description of Work: I used Brook side Farms & Nursery to install a blue stone patio.

+ 0 moreI had my hedges clipped and fertilized as well as mulching. They were supposed to treat a few of the shrubs to spur growth. When I asked the guys (not the one quoting the job) who showed up to do the work about that they had no idea about how to do what was described to me. Nice guys that did the job, but not fully trained in the field
Description of Work: I had asked for an itemized estimate which I was given. When I was billed for the work, it was considerably higher. I was told that they had not carried over charges in the right hand column, however those charges appeared to be itemized like some of the other services I received. The invoicing was confusing. I paid (I thought) about $300 more for this company over other estimates because I felt they would do a better job based on the presentation. Ultimately I paid about $900 more for clipping of hedges, fertilization and mulch. MUCH too much. They admitted the estimate wasn't done properly however refused to bend on the price, not even to split their mistake. They are no where near worth what they charge. I had to redo some of their work and they did not perform all that they said they would during the presentation. The guy who quotes the job does not over see the job - he gets the guys started and then leaves and never even comes back to check the job at the end.
