Response from BDB Paving & General Contracting Inc
Hi [member name removed]: I am sorry to hear that you had a poor experience. I did call you back as you stated on the message you had questions. I also offered you an anticipated start date with no return call. I apologize that we didn't connect. Our prices for sealcoating might be a bit higher than competitors. Here are some reasons why: 1.) Our sealer is never diluted. We have two bulk tanks stored in our shop, which we also sell to our competitors. Many times if the sealcoating is cheaper than us, it is diluted product. 2.) We have a tank that is manufactured with a motor powered agitator. This ensures the sealer is mixed properly and doesn't separate. Being a distributor for SealMaster, we see many different types of companies coming in. Many of them with plastic totes and stirring the sealer with a shovel. 3.) The type of sealer we use is different than the conventional sealer that most of our competitors on Angie's list use. Most of these people on here, use coal tar, which we are not big fans of due to the promotion of surface cracking. We use SealMaster LV, which is an emulsion sealer. It is made with liquid asphalt, which is a higher quality sealer than coal tar. 4.) Our guys are paid an hourly rate of pay. This ensures that they take their time and apply sealer by hand in a uniform and proper fashion. 5.) We also guarantee our work, especially if it rains. We had to come back to a few jobs this year, free of charge, due to unexpected rain. 6.) Our company is fully insured. We hold all insurance certificates that are required by the state of NY. If one of our employees gets injured on your property, you can bet that we have insurance to cover them. These are a few reasons why our prices are a bit higher for sealcoating. Again, I apologize for any poor experiences you may had or for any sour taste left in your mouth. ~Katie
