APEX IS NO LONGER A SOLID CARING COMPANY. Also first question in review asks-“Was money paid, or services performed. I cant answer a two part question correctly. Yes $ was pain and no services were performed. That is the answer for question number 1.. (Before starting this review i will state they have already cashed check). As most of us know and understand a cashed check is for services already rendered or a promissory to complete work within scope of contract in reasonable time frame. We have used Apex for several years now without problems. This year something has changed. 5 weeks ago they were supposed to do first application. They never showed. They were contacted and said “We will be there next week” this never happened. We made same calls and requests for service (already paid for) to be completed. This went on for 4 weeks. Last week “Final Call” I let them know of complete dissatisfaction and gave them till the 17th to complete the simple task of doing what they are paid to do. I received a voicemail stating they will be here on Fri the 17th. Welllllll today is the 17th. and nobody has come to my address, nor called to state they are sorry and will show at later date. They have not been picking up the phone today. I left message stating they need to show on Monday or face civil suit consequences. I hope they choose to do the right thing in this matter. As for now i will not refrain from calling them thief’s until they rectify the situation. PEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY THAT WILL SERVE YOUR NEEDS.

Having referred many people to Apex, even helping to convert some of my neighbors to Apex customers I have to vent a bit about my recent experience. After 11 years of living in Country Knolls my family this week moved to Rexford. I 100% expected to continue with Apex. I called to move the service and was told that I would be contacted with my new price (after I mentioned that my new yard was .16 acres smaller. A few days later I get a call from Apex telling me that my new annual total was higher and that I owed $90+ dollars more of I wanted to finish the year (I prepaid for the whole season). I asked that they go back to (I believe his name is Joe and redo the math). I call back a week later to inquire, leave a message and then get a call back a few days after telling me the numbers were correct. I call back and this time talk to Joe, a clearly overconfident man (based on his whole approach to my conversation). I said I have always been happy with Apex. I said, if you cared to look back you would clearly see that there were a number of new customers on my cul de sac after I began using Apex (I am always very happy to sing praises if happy with service). Joe right away snapped back with something the effect of “well that’s because we are a great company we do a great job.”, completely dismissing word of mouth (from a company who I believe does offer a referral bonus). As much as I truly had no desire to do so, on principle, I responded to Joe’s clear lack of interest in or understanding for my position with a request to stop service and a refund for the remainder of the year. The cherry on top was the surprising lack of care that was conveyed when I said that I wanted to stop service (from Joe or from the person who processed the order). Having been a loyal customer ever since leaving Turf Green and honestly having told everyone (even on the Nextdoor site) about Apex, I was amazed that they would let me walk because I couldn’t bring myself to pay another $90 per year to have a clearly smaller lawn serviced. I know this was long, but I hope it conveys my frustrations with this local company. BTW, since I know that the owners do see this. I am happy to come back to Apex at my normal rate (not even at the lower rate I expected), if they care to reach out.

So far we are one application into it.Will know better in October.

They came for the 1st time today. The gentleman took care to do a thorough job, even reaching the corners of the property. Then he blew off the driveway and patio with a blower. Nice.

This company is great. I used a national lawn service company for years and my lawn looked worse and worse as time went on. In only one season, Apex turned things around. I always had nut sedge along the roadway. It is now gone. Weeds are minimal and grass is green and thick. They are reasonably priced, punctual and offer other services, such as soil testing, mole remediation, aeration, and additives that correct deficiencies. No hard sell here either. The same people come every year and they are knowledgeable... no turn over in staff year to year with new people who have a learning curve... or who only look at their job as a summer gig.

Mike and Beth have been so nice to work with over the last two years. We have rarely had to contact them but when we do they are very attentive to our questions. Apex treats our lawn and leaves a report on how our grass and land is doing and anything we should do differently too (i.e.: if we are watering too much they will indicate to water less). We just renewed our contract with them for this summer and look forward to a care free and beautiful back, front and side yards.

Always punctual no nonsense service. They make suggestions as needed, offer soil tests and other special services such as mole remediation. No hard sales. We have been using them for four years now and our lawn has improved drastically. We are very happy with their service.

Hired Apex Turf for lawn treatment after using one of the large national brands in 2013 with poor results. Lawn was in terrible shape - weeds, crabgrass, dandelions - all of the standard problems. In just one season, Apex has turned the situation completely around. Mike is easy to contact, very responsive when contacted, and has provided extra treatments to address particular issues when requested. Lawn looks better than it has in the 26 years we've lived in our home. Recommend them highly and will most certainly use them again.
