He went over the entire home and he pointed out everything in the world. He was very thorough. We were happy with what he came up with. I would highly recommend him. He took the time to explain everything. He made sure we understood everything he was talking about. He spent about two and a half hours with us. I did purchase an Angie’s List Big Deal.

We were very satisfied. He was on time and very thorough. He pointed things out about our home we weren't aware of. He gave us a full 21 page report. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I was was very pleased with the responsiveness and thoroughness of the home inspeciton from Ian Robertson of Spec-Pro. He took his time and documented his obsevrations with photographs. I would recommend to friedns and family.

Absolutely great - before starting many major improvement projects I call Spec-Pro to get an independent and professional assessment. Last year I did this with mold remediation, this year with an evaluation of dampness and drainage in basement.

We had a very good experience with Spec-Pro and found them very informative. Having an older home we were concerned about many things. We stayed with them through the entire inspection and they explained every bad and good thing about the house. We have lived in the house for over 7 years and they pointed out things that we had never noticed. They have a very good eye for detail. We wish we had known about Spec-Pro when we first purchased the house. After the inspection was completed they emailed, on the same day, a much more detailed report than when we first bought the house. It is interesting to compare the two reports because they are like night day. Based on the report we decided to fix a few things that we had not considered. We had this trusted inspection done just in case the prospective buyers were to take issue with anything about our house. A few weeks later we put the house on the market and it sold in TWO WEEKS!!!!! We are now looking for another home and we would definitely use Spec-Pro again.

The gentleman was very easy to get a hold of, easy to schedule, absolutely professional, kind, understanding and flexible. He gave me very clear information about their process and what I could expect from the report. I received a very nice sample report. It was very clear. Frankly we'd never gotten a report so detailed. He came and went through the process with the home owner. I was a bit surprised to receive the report I did. He walked me through it piece by piece and he told my his experience. Basically the home failed structurally which surprised everyone. The owners immediately hired a structural Engineer and my brother, who is a PE with a speciality in historic structures, flew up to go through it with everyone since we could not be there. They all went through the inspection results and did their testing. My brother immediately called me and said that the inspection crew clearly didn't have much experience with 200+ year old structures. Both engineers were in complete accord. There just wasn't enough experience with such old houses. Now, this being said, were I to buy a home less than 75 years old, I would hire them in a moment. They provide a fabulously detailed report and are professional and candid. They state over and over: "we are not engineers, so we can only report so much". So, while I want to relate my experience in terms of having a house built in 1790 inspected, I also want to be quite candid about this company having provided me with the best and easiest inspection process I have ever had. To Summarize: A. If you are buying or refinancing a house over 150 years old, select a more specialized inspector. This selection is incredibly key. Better yet, have a PE come out (there are some great ones in the area) with the inspector and get the structural report from the engineer. It costs a lot more, but will give you more concrete information which will save everyone's bacon in the end. B. If you are buying or refinancing a home built since the 1940s (modern construction practices kick in), I see no reason not to hire this company. You will be satisfied.

I hired Ian to do a Radon test in my home. He offered me several options, and was very accomodating. He explained the process as he went along and gave me lots of good information. He was very courteous, professional and I did not feel pressured to add more services. I would highly recommend Ian and will use him again in the future!

He is good. I liked him. He was very punctual and very thorough. He did a very good inspection. He gave a couple of good reports. There was $100 extra for radon, so the charge was $450 for each house. I was worried about some flushing and stuff on the new roof. He got up right into the attic and said it didn?t leak.

I'm a first time home buyer and worked with Ian for the home inspection. He arrived early, was already taking photos when I arrived. Very professional, he did what I think was an outstanding job in both checking the home (inside and out) as well as being patient and answered all my questions. Overall good inspector, very responsive and professional. Found many problems with the house (which is good). I think next time I would go for someone even more critical. There were some parts of the reports which he left unfilled because some things were blocking the way etc. I wish he'd just move them.

all services performed quickly 2 days after initial contact. he arrived early to the inspection. He spent as much time as I needed on any part of the inspection and answered all questions very well. He even answered some questions well not directly related to the inspection. very courteous and professional

Ian showed up on time and even in the bitter cold walked me through and around the entire house. He noticed things that my eye couldn't see and possibly saved me a lot of money in final costs had he not noticed. He not only explained the home inspection to me thoroughly but gave me tips and pointers on preventive maintenance and where things he felt were misplaced should be placed, i.e. furnace shut off switch, ground points. Overall had a great professional experience. One thing I would have liked to see in his report were pictures, but even in some of the cases were the house had problems, i.e. roof and chimney lean, they wouldn't have shown well in pictures with all the snow.

It went well. He pointed out some flaws in the home that could lead to problems in the future. I appreciated his thorough work.

Went pretty go. Spec Pro was very responsive during holiday period. At 1st it was though that the problem was with roof install which I had done several years ago. This caused some serious misgivings. But Spec Pro networked and gave additional advice in timely manner. Also tested mold and insured that it was not toxic variety. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and the ability to revise initial prognosis. Follow-up scheduled to insure problems are under control.

The inspector was very professional. He was able to speak with my contractor about issues with some work. He was able to reason with the contractor to bring repairs up to code. I would definitely recommend them to other leaser or home owners.

He spoke to me and was very informative on exactly what to do with a mold problem that a lot of people like me go through, he certainly knows his stuff and will call him for any other problems that will come up in the future.

Owner of the company came to inspect my home after a request. Not only was a very thorough inspection done, but he also found a roofing problem that I was unaware of. The final report was delivered the next day and provided all the information I needed.

Excellent company to use. I was completely comfortable both with their service and also the level of knowledge the owner has.
