Phil of PTO Home Services replaced the water heater in my rental house. (I only wish I'd joined Angie's List and found him a few months earlier when I needed the water heater replaces in my home!) Phil is easy to get in touch with, he was communicative throughout the job, and he was upfront about pricing, timing, and how he would get the job done. Phil is friendly and trustworthy. The old water heater was of indeterminate age, and had at some point been hooked up to a circulation system and then hooked up to some other pump and ... clearly a DIY situation. Phil was able to make the various "improvements" into one system. He drained and removed the old water heater and installed a new one. This was the second time we hired Phil and he is definitely our go-to plumber now!

Phil of PTO Home Services cleared the kitchen drain and pipes in my rental home after the tenant had complained of the kitchen drain backing up. I was thrilled with the response time - I bought the deal and had the work done on the same day! Phil was communicative, friendly, and courteous. He cleared the drain and, while he was there, spent about 30 minutes talking to me about the other issues the tenant was having (needing more hot water, etc) and suggested a course of action. I would recommend PTO Home Services to anyone and will call Phil again.

This is the third time we've hired PTO Home Services. Phil is great and the work looks wonderful. Phil replaced the faucet set in one bathroom and shower fixtures in two bathrooms at our rental house. Our tenant was complaining of hard water damage to fixtures and we decided to do this cosmetic upgrade. As usual, Phil was easy to talk to, discuss options with, and work with. Everything looks great and we have a happy tenant. We will hire Phil in the future for the rental house and our own home.

My daughter was arriving from college in Florida on the next day with her boyfriend and I called him the last minute and he came promptly. I will call him again for sure. Very easy to talk with and knows his stuff!

Quality work.This is the third time I have called Phil for assistance this year. He has installed a gas line for our new stove, corrected a big plumbing problem and finally the water heater. Phil keeps you informed of all details concerning his availability and arrival times, cost and time to completion. I would not hesitate to call him again for any problem.

Leak coming from drain in bathtub was repaired. Very friendly and informative and repaired leak. Overall was a good experience.

First let me say that I do not like having people in my house, but I felt very comfortable with Phil. He's friendly and personable and I felt we connected. He does his estimates on the weekends so he had lots of time to spend discussing the various things I had questions about. Originally the tub grinding and jet removal was not part of the discussion, but before the first service call, I'd connected with someone who could repair and refinish a fiberglass tub, so I jumped at the chance to remove those jets and since the fiberglass guy did not want to touch the hardware in my tub... I called Phil! I changed everything around at the last minute, added things he said "ok" and we figured it out when he got here. That's why we needed a second appointment because I put the water bypass on hold for the Tub stuff. So, when Phil came to put the tub hardware back on he TOTALLY respected my wish that NOTHING TOOL-LIKE touch the new finish on the tub (it's really just a paint job with acrylic after all...) he even removed his boots and double checked his pockets!! Phil made recommendations about the type of line to use for the bypass... saved me a lot since I normally would have gone with copper... but for outdoor spigots... why??? I've finally found myself a plumber that I'll actually have back again (yes... I have more things I want done and I'm THRILLED to find out that Phil does drywall...So, when that job happens, I'll give another review. Oh, and another thing... when I asked that Phil call when he finished the appointment before mine, he totally did and gave me the heads-up that I'd requested, BOTH times. I really appreciate that and you'd be surprised by how many people just can't be bothered to do that. That's it, Phil O'Brien is my plumber.

We had a loose faucet which was apparently the reason we had water leak from our shower and down our wall and ultimatly into our ceiling down stairs. This ruined the sheet rock and of course paint. The plumbing work was done efficiently and when stated it would be done however...It was said we needed to wait two weeks to see if the problem was solved before he would fix the sheet rock for us. When we agreed on a date and time Phil never returned. We called both contact numbers and left messages. Giving him the benifit of the doubt we waited a few days to hear back....well its been now a couple of weeks. We are just disapointed in the lack of respect. I had to take time off of work to be home and loss of work is loss of money. We just felt if he didnt want the job he could have let us know so we could have found someone else instead of waiting at home and waiting for a phone call back. Its too bad because our first impression of Phil was totally diffrent. But now we are stuck with an unfinished job.

It went great, he is very hard working and creative as he goes along. I can't say enough good things about him. He did a great job for me.

It didn't go well, but NOT because of anything Phil did wrong. Clearly the line feeding the dry well is packed with roots (and in so finding, he left a sizable piece of his snake permanently...well...rooted). But it's not because he lacked knowledge of his trade or because he didn't try EVERYTHING before having to call it. We're going to need someone to come in, dig up the old pipe (and I mean OLD pipe; an iron pipe installed in the 50s) and put a new one in. If you have plumbing needs, call this guy. Seriously. Punctual, professional, personable, and knows his business. We'll be calling him back for more work!

He came on time, finished the job in less than 45 minutes.

Installed new sheet rock, taped all joints and finished up with ceiling primer. Phil was pleasant and easy to work with. Wife and I could not be happier with the work provided!!

It went great. Phil arrived when he said he would, fixed the problem efficiently and was very professional and pleasant.

It was great working with Phil! He was flexible, professional, and does great work. He came back a few times to get the job done right and the finished job looks as good as new. Would not hesitate to recommend him and will call him again if anything else comes up.

Was having a garage door problem. Then the service provider caught pneumonia - so I had to follow up with him at a later time. I cannot tell you how happy I am with his services, I'm not in a financial situation where I can replace that garage door, so if he hadn't been able to fix it, I probably would have had to. He found a way to fix the problem for $16. He's very punctual, pleasant, and helpful. He also found a good solution for my shades that needed to be adjusted. He went above and beyond for me, and I'd definitely use him again, and recommend him to anyone who needs handyman services.

The provider arrived as scheduled and assessed the plumbing-related problems that we needed fixed. He fixed what he could and for another -- sink faucet -- he identified the parts we needed and ordered them. When the part came in, he came back and fixed that too.

Phil was on time and did the work in a reasonable amount of time.

Phil came to the house to look the job over, and gave us a very fair estimate for the work that needed to be done. He set an appointment for two days later. He was here right on the dot to begin the work. We found him to be very professional, friendly and courteous. He replaced the entire kitchen sink drains and then he replaced the main drain in the basement. All the work was nicely done and efficiently completed. He also hauled away the old piping and cleaned up both work areas. His final price matched his original quote, which we found to be more than fair. We will be using PTO in the future for another drain replacement. Our overall experience with PTO was very positive, and would recommend them to any of our neighbors.

Phil came to scope out the job. Clearly told us what we needed to buy (2 faucets). Gave us an estimate in a week, came the next week to do the job. He found additional problems and fixed the water turn-off valves for no extra charge. Everything works like great.

He didn't service the Albany area and recommended a refund.

Provider made two appointments. One to see the old heater and the location and configuration. Two to install. Both were on schedule and were done professionally.
