Description of Work: Repaired a dining room chair.

Description of Work: We hired Peabody's after being highly recommended by an antique store in Ballston Spa. When we hired Peabody's, we were told that our antique bedroom furniture-2 solid mahogany dressers, nightstands, hope chest & rocking chair-would be finished in a month. It took him over 2 months! And that was only after calling numerous times, leaving messages to call us, with no return calls! We were actually womdering if he disappeared! After a final call, before we went to his place of business, he called us back. When he finally did deliver our furniture, the hope chest had not been touched, and my dresser had such a strong chemical smell, I had to put the drawers in another room, with the hope of airing them out! The dresser, itself, has not been sealed properly, as every time I place an item on top of it, it leaves a mark in the shape of whatever item it is. To this day, I am unable to use my dresser, as the smell if still as strong as the day it was delivered and that's with trying to air them out outside, scented drawers liners, ect..and now one of the drawers has something that looks like bubble-like on the bottom! The nightstands still have a slight odor, but it has dissipated slightly. The furniture was delivered in Oct 2016! We did call Peabody's to inquire about a refund, but he stated he would be glad to come pick up the furniture to try to fix it, but refused to refund our money. After all the time it took for delivery & the fact that I do not feel comfortable with him trying to "fix" the problems. Now I need to find a reputable furniture refinisher to repair what Peabody's destroyed!

Description of Work: Brian repaired a four poster bed where 2 posts had been broken.

Description of Work: I had a dinning room table repaired and refinished. The table is approximately 150 years old, of which the last 40 years were spent in a cellar. Everything that was broken, split or water damaged was repaired without the slightest hint that there was ever a problem. The finish is superb. Peabody Antiques are not just repair and refinish, they are a cross between artist and magicians. I am extremely pleased and I recommend them very highly.

Description of Work: Repaired the leg on a teak dining chair

Description of Work: My semi-antique (70 years old) Boston rocker was broken in two places, including the end upright spindle that supports the arm. Brian mended and glued it and I am well pleased. He also refinished a pair of worn-out Jeff Eliot ladderback chairs and put in shaker tape seats, making them better than new. He refinished my dining room table, and repaired an old spool bed that was collapsing. I'm a big fan of Peabody Refinishing.

Description of Work: THEY REDID A HOPE CHEST THAT BELONGED TO MY MOTHER. IT NEEDED A NEW TOP AND IT HAD BEEN IN AN ATTIC FOR SIXTY YEARS. IT HAD A LOT OF DRIED PARTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VENEER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL.
