The whole experience was unbelievably inexpensive. For the amount of time he spent, it was unbelievably cheap.

The whole process was long, but the audit process was done in one day and overall very informative. He came and spent 5 hours going through all the areas of the house looking for energy savings opportunities. He collected the data and did the analysis with computer software. after the contractors finished, Dan came back to perform the second audit. He then filed all the paperwork to the State of NY so we can redeem the 10% cash back.

Dan is very pleasant and interesting and very enthusiastic about energy conservation. He recommended insulation, caulking, new boiler, etc. He informed me about NYSERDA incentives, which made it possible for me to have some of the work done. I will not know for sure until the winter how much difference the improvements have made, but I feel confident that they will help. The only caveat I have is that Dan advised me to remove vermiculite insulation myself, which I subsequently found is potentially very dangerous because of possible asbestos contamination. Therefore, even though you can trust Dan's good intentions, you may want to do independent research on some of his suggestions before implementing.

This service is very valuable. I was very impressed with the detail that went into the report. I was also surprised to see areas of the report that we knew nothing about like the evaluation for solar panels.
