GENESEE VALLEY CHIMNEY SWEEP

Everything was wonderful! I will have them back to inspect and clean my stovepipe. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer them to friends and family.

Great. He spent time explaining what he was doing and also the operation of the stove. He explained what I needed to look for re: wood fuel. He also responded to a call a month later when I was having trouble with a reverse draft.

We had an excellent experience. Our cleaning was scheduled just a couple weeks after I called. I appreciated the phone call when he was on his way. He was very polite and very tidy.

Chris started with a chimney sweep, he was early and worked quickly. After the sweep, he evaluated our chimneys and suggested a couple of changes that agreed with our expectations. We asked for him to replace our two spring-loaded exterior chimney caps, which were 25 years old. He had replacements and all supplies he needed in his van. It was all finished in a few hours, no return call necessary. Very professional!

It went well. Chris, the owner, arrived on time. He was always professional, polite and very courteous, answering all of my questions. He placed tarps on the floor surrounding my dining room fireplace and proceeded to sweep the chimney from inside my home. Lots of gunk and debris fell from the chimney and into the fireplace where Chris immediately sucked it up with a vacuum. After he picked up and carefully removed his tarps from inside my home, he went outside and onto my roof to inspect the chimney. After the cleaning and inspection, he gave me a written report with a diagram of my fireplace and chimney. He found no problems or damage. The only issue I had was discovering a nearly invisible layer of black sooty dust had settled over everything after Chris cleaned the fireplace and chimney. I had to dust and vacuum the entire dining room (including the hardwood floors) after he left. I would advise covering any carpet, furniture, shelves, bookcases, etc. with tarps or blankets before a chimney cleaning.

Do recognize that you will not be getting an appointment the very next day. They are in much demand.

In November I had a new fireplace insert installed and had never heated with wood before . The imformation that came with the unit suggested that I have the chimeny cleaned after a couple of mounths so I called Genesee Valley Chimney Sweep. They had an emergency that morning with a customer that had a plugged chimney. They called to ask if they could be a little late as the other customer had no heat. I said that would be fine they follwed up with two more phone calls Just to keep me informed and they were only a little late.Good to know that if you really have a problem they will make the extra effort. They arrived put down throws over the floor and went to work.Very neat and professional. I had been trying to figure out if I was properly using the unit so I asked Chris a few questions. Chris was very eager to answer all of my questions and suggest other things that may be helpful to me. Chris was very very knowledgeable about wood stoves and explained to me that part of his service is to make sure that his customers understand the proper operation of their units. Chris has to be one of the most pleasant contractors that I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. He was not rushed and explained every thing as they went.

We found Chris to be personable, professional and prompt. We booked an appt only two weeks in advance. He arrived on time and completed all the work in less than 30 minutes. He was tidy- cleaned up after himself. There was no evidence that he'd been there except for our PRISTINE wood stove. I would recommend Chris to anyone.

Nice guy and very personable. Right on time, quick to answer calls and very helpful in terms of suggestions for using our fireplace as a wood burner again (it had been converted to gas). I will only call him when I next need the chimney cleaned!

Excellent service from intitial contact to completion. Also checked on roof and replaced deteriorated chimney seal. Very satisfied with service, responsiveness and performance.

It was easy to contact them, response was immediate, given a date, they showed up exactly as arranged. They were especially careful to protect rugs and surrounding areas. Checked a second fireplace and chimney and stated it was very clean and did not need service at this time. Also recommended being sure to use seasoned wood and explained how to tell if it was. Very helpful.

The job was done efficiently and with no mess. The chimney was completely cleaned from within the house, so there was no need to go on our roof. It took less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
