Sharif Mohamed and his crew did exactly what they said and did it perfectly. My new porch is cute, sturdy, and functional. It’s so nice to work with a polite, timely, and responsible contractor who does quality work. I will be having them back to replace the front porch next. Well done.

Stoney Brook LLC (Mr. Mohamed) was hired on July 18, 2023 to put build an extension to our property that will include a new kitchen and bathroom. The contract also included building a new screened-in porch and renovating an existing bathroom. We immediately gave Mr. Mohamed $26,000 dep in July 2023. He renovated the bathroom and demolished the old porch pretty soon after agreeing on the contract and deposit was made. However, the construction of the new addition did not begin until late October 2023. From the beginning we've had issues with Mr. Mohamed. He initially went against the Engineer's plan when building the new addition for the kitchen and the porch. We pushed back and he later fixed it. However, the porch he did not fix. We proceeded to give him more money in November 2023, after framing was finished which was in mid-November of 2023, including a deposit of $7200 additional for installation of exterior siding to the entire house. The quote was for $13,300. After Mr. Mohamed received the deposit for the siding and additional monies for the renovation, he did not return to the property for approximately four weeks. When we questioned him, he will tell us that he was on his way, however in reality he wasn't showing up. In the meantime, the porch ceiling was leaking which we had discussed with Mr. Mohamed. Mr. Mohamed knew that we lived far away and that it wasn't easy for us to get there during the week due to work. We would typically go on Saturdays to look at the progress and the work. Finally, after 4 weeks the work resumed, however it was not consistent. Work would be done sporadically. By end of December, we’ve already paid Mr. Mohamed a total of $73,000, including the siding deposit. At the end of December, we asked Mr. Mohamed when will siding work begin since we had given him $7200 dep in November 2023 and the new extension/addition was left exposed with no wrapping in the exterior. He never delivered the siding and kept giving us excuses. We were told by Mr. Mohamed that new sheathing can be left exposed to the elements for up to 8 months with no problem. Additionally, the basement access door was never delivered or installed during that same period of time. Mr. Mohamed would continue to ask for money the entire time although a significant portion of the work was not completed telling us that he had to make payroll and that he would not be able to work further if he couldn’t pay his employees. Mr. Mohamed attempted to fix the leaking roof several times but he couldn't figure out why it was leaking and so it continued to leak into the porch and into the interior room adjacent to the porch (Den) for several months resulting in damages to the ceiling. Mr. Mohamed gave up and left it leaking without at minimum tarping the roof to prevent water from coming in. In late January 2024, work on the exterior siding began while the basement access door and part of the plumbing, electrical, heating were not complete and the roof continued to leak. By this time, we had already paid him all of the money, $83,190. We met Mr. Mohamed on 2/14/24 to discuss the siding installed on one side of the house which was very poorly installed. Mr. Mohamed refuse to even listen to us and proceeded to leave and told us that he would not return and that we would tell it to the judge. Since then, we have not heard rom Mr. Mohamed. We were left with no other choice but to hire other professionals to complete the work that was left unfinished. As of today, we have paid a total of $21,825, with approximate $3,700 of additional work left to complete.

[Member Name Removed] and [Member Name Removed] started out wonderful but quickly became a nightmare. They are from Long Island so they wanted pics and be updated on the progress and would stop up on the weekends. The problems started out when we poured the footings for the addition. We built them and had them inspected by both the engineer and town building inspector, we poured them and took pics and sent them to [Member Name Removed] . She called me right away yelling at me saying they were not footings she knows what footings are and they were not footing what was I trying to pull on her . I then again said they are built to the engineers drawings and inspected by both him and the town and they were indeed footings and they are footings she still disagreed. I quickly found out that she knew everything and nothing was good enough and that even tho we had drawings from an engineer and a set of drawings she did for wiring and placement of cabinets and lights and a bathroom wall , we did everything to code and to her drawings and the engineers set , we built and placed every wire and lite as per her instructions send her pics and she say that not where it goes so we change it , then she come up and said I never said that move it here so we did , over and over again my crew was getting so frustrated and quickly became afraid of her because she would flip on them as well and call them liars , She would flip out in her husband [Member Name Removed] in front of all of us and he would put his head down and walk away it was embarrassing to watch , She was so abusive towards him and my crew and I . I would try to explain to her that every time we change things it cost more money she would flip out and say I never said that I never said that. , I would tell my workers to just keep moving forward. Keep doing the job that we were here to do. Now [Member Name Removed] is an accountant she would never pay her bills more than what the work was done and that’s understandable, but it quickly became the other way around. We were not being paid and we were doing so much extra work and more work and even the work in the contract, original contract was not being paid , now the building we worked on her home or second home. The walls were rotted in some spots. You can literally put your hand through them. We rebuilt several of these walls and sent her invoices and she still would not pay them. We couldn’t even put sheet rock up on one wall because, there was nothing to screw because it was so much rot. We wound up, gluing it to the old paneling and rebuilding the wall from outside. if she would come up and belittle us and yell at us and her husband in front of all the crew time, we don’t know we’re doing we’re unprofessional. It shouldn’t be this way. It should be this way. She knows everything. now we added a sunroom or a screen room to her house. The pitch was approximately one on two, but it was all engineered by the engineer, and we built it according to the drawings I let her know from the very beginning she will need a metal roof shingles would not work, she said that they cost too much and that I didn’t know what I was talking about and they wanted asphalt shingles. Well we did and they leaked a little bit here and there but only the sunroom part. We did three or four times I’m not sure exactly how many but it was at least three. to prove to her and show her that you need a metal roof she still would not listen and only would blame me. I went as far as to tell her I will install this metal roof for free husband even said he’s gonna do it for free. I believe I even have the text because he got frustrating and wanted to be done with the job to get out of there . At this point she still owes me 36,600 in unpaid invoices. I would have stayed and finished it and probably wound up not getting all my money but something with the breaking point came when it was 10° out on a Saturday morning and they just started in again on me telling me how unprofessional the workmanship was how wrong it was how the siding didn’t look good how they complained about everything they never had nothing good to say it was always negative when you seen them. Their faces were scolded always just put you down , I finally walked off the job. It was too much to be abused by these two mainly by her and owed so much money and I have to pay payroll to all my guys and woman. I thought I was given them a gift by leaving all that money on the table and letting them go get somebody else to do it. I knew there was plenty of money left. They wanted me to do their house beat me in the ground and not pay me is what they were doing, I did everything I could possibly do for these two people I’ve been doing things for 37 years. I’ve never walked off a job ever and I never been so abused in my life and not paid so much money. These people should be turned in and people should be aware of how fraudulent they are .

The project went really well. The builder communicated clearly at each step of the way and was open to substitutions. We opted for a different brand of decking besides what they usually use and our requests were nicely accommodated. The workers came when they said they would and completed the project on-time and left our property as they found it. The porch and deck look awesome! I would highly recommend this builder for decking projects. We are very satisfied.

The Stoney Brook group were great to work with for our deck project. They are a design / build firm and this was very important to our planning process and for the adjustments that we made during the project. The result is fantastic. We are thrilled with our deck!

I’ve been wanting to update my back deck for some time. I reached out to Angi for help. I immediately received responses and contact info of contractors available. I was planning on getting a few quotes. Stoney Brook was the first to respond, was able to meet with me at my earliest availability. They came out, talked about my options and affordability. I kind of knew they would be my choice. Yet, I was open to other quotes, although they all fell through and I am glad. I contracted with Stoney Brook and could not be happier with the work from start to finish. My deck is without a doubt a work of art. The workers worked through some rainy weather and surpassed my expectations. A perfect job. I highly recommend Stoney Brook.

Two full gut jobs on bathrooms. They came out great. On schedule even with weather delays. Even came back to fix something that was faulty from the store, not their work. I recommend their work and would hire again for my own home.
