Description of Work: move furniture, refrigerator and boxes of papers

Description of Work: They are listed as a clearing house of four moving companies and they are in fact one company. Each company quotes a different price and "competes" with the others. I was given a quote and a time frame for a move of some furniture but mostly boxes from a storage unit to my home in another state. I was told that the move would be done in one day and arranged to be at the storage unit and then meet them at the house about 4 hours later. As I was driving to the house I got a call saying that my things would be stored in their warehouse and delivered the next day. This was not in the contract and caused me great inconvenience and worry about my possessions. The next day the movers arrived many hours behind schedule. The driver sat in the truck and one man moved everything from the truck to the house, taking it twice as long. When the move was complete, the driver informed me of hidden charges, which I refused to pay. The driver offered to come back and help me finish unpacking on his own time for an unspecified amount. I tipped them both and was glad the experience was over. I will never use or recommend Last Minute Movers again. I had two completely different crews on the unscheduled two days of my move. Not everyone was unkind or insensitive which is the only reason I did not rate this company as an F on all aspects of the move. |
