They did more like a bulldozer's job, we had tons of trees, and I had a stack of trees out there I was ready to get rid of. It was huge; it could have been a 45 or 50 feet full of trees, and 10 or 12 feet high trees. I had trees one could not believe. They were here off and on, they were here from June 2011 until September 2011, they were by at different stages, they cleared the lot, and they cut in, she gave me a place for my footer, they came back a couple of times, and re graded some spots. And they came by and they put in my septic system. I had 3 septic tanks and a pump, and did all paths so that we could walk through. They came back and cleaned up after themselves, I had some other people come in, to cut up all the trees into small little pieces, and they took it out, and they cleaned up probably 6 or 7 inches of the little things off the trees. I am not sure of the cost, and the contractor handled that. They gave a good price on my septic system, and did a good job.

We did not use them. There bid was a little higher then we were willing to pay. They were prompt and friendly. The thing that trouble me the most was they were charging so much for removal of lead paint. The company that did the job did not charge extra.

Woodford Brothers call themselves and quot;Structural Renovation Specialists.and quot; I had recently bought a small 100 year old house. The front porch and a small addition at the back of the house were sagging and pulling away from the house. I had several professionals (carpenter, home improvement) look at the porch and got widely varying estimates (and no firm prices) for the work. I felt that this type of work was Woodford's specialty - in fact, it was a small job for them. Based on their look at the situation (in Sept), I had greater confidence in their proposal and ability to do the work. They were scheduling jobs several weeks out, but did the work in two days when they got to it. They pointed out areas that would need my attention (e.g., a gap between the extension and main house that would need filler, how to let the dirt settle around the new supports.) I asked them to replace some rotten porch floor boards which was additional to the original estimate. I was not give the price for that work ($500) until the job was in progress. I thought the price was high but winter was closing in and I did not want to have to find another service provider. Their scope of work was clearly stated via a comprehensive contract including graphic of the work and materials.

I decided not to do the project but may use them again in the future.

This company was great - we called because we were concerned about structural issues with our home after Irene. They were completely up front, told us they didnt see any problems after touring the property for over an hour. They arrived at the appointed time, not a minute late, were polite and professional and even after they knew there were no issues, still took the time to review what might be the problem with our basement.

Overall, I think it was unnecessary for the same man to call over and over about the job and would lower the price each time he called. We explained that the cost was too high and that we were looking into other companies. Once we told him that the calls ended but then a letter arrived stating that if we changed our minds to give them a call. I dont see how a job quoted for 20k originally could come down to 10k in the end.

I asked for an estimate on some significant bathroom repairs related to long term structural water damage to the bathroom floor and sub-floor. The appointment setters were super-friendly and accommodated my schedule. I live 750 miles away and was only going to be available a few days while I visitied my Mom who lives in my house. The estimator was extremely knowledgeable, educated me regarding a variety options and things to be sure to ask for in my other estimates. He even went so far as to indicate that given the nature of the repairs that I might do better with a smaller contractor in terms of price. He followed up with me by phone and mail with just the right frequency. When all was said and done the Woodford quote was actually the lowest and best value for contractors of any ignificant size. I ultimately chose an independant contractor who was introduced to us through church and completed the job at a much lower price than Woodford could compete with, however I would have no problem whatsoever recommending Woodford, and would definately use them for larger jobs.

I was impressed with the way they worked. They were a very thorough, professional company. They took pictures and took their time to tell me what they could do for me. I didn't hire them at this time, but I will consider them when I decide to complete the job.

I called to ask about getting a concrete foundation inspected as part of an inspection contingency in a house purchase. They couldn't get to my state in time but the guy on the phone was so helpful and listened to my problem and gave me some advice on how to approach it. He was very knowledgeable and very willing to share his knowledge to help me out.

I have not scheduled this company because the structural repair needed is due to a (standing) water problem in my dirt-floor crawl space, that I feel cannot be remedied with ventilation and a vapor barrier, which they did offer as options. At this time I am evaluating other proposals for keeping the space dry and controlling the humidity, so as to avoid having to replace beams in the future.

Very Well, project manager/salesmen looked over what needed needed to be. Knew exactly what to do and gave me some options. His ideas matched up exactly with and independent structural engineers recommendations. They were very flexible with setting up the actual repair date, (had to be moved due to weather and safety considerations). The crew was on-site for 2 days. The crew was very knowledgeable. Project was completed on time even though there was a major equipment failure, (they resolved this within 4 hours by finding a repair service to fix it). There was some last minute changes in the design of the repair due to the construction of the house, (new posts had to be moved due to joist placement. They let me know in advance of possible damage of dry wall etc due to movement of the structure. They do rough in carpentry and repairs to major structural issues, they do not want to get involved in finish work (dry wall, ect.).

I didn’t proceed with the job because of the money involved. They were excellent and very professional. Their quote was reasonable for what I was thinking of having done. They didn’t harass me or anything. They just did one follow up call and didn’t bother me after that. They responded very quickly when I asked them for a quote and they were on time.

The quote was fine and they took care of it right away. They were really nice to deal with but they were expensive. They were very responsive and got back to me. They were very professional. I would consider using them if someone else was paying for it.

There is probably no one better to hire when you're having trouble with the structure in your home. They offered honest, direct advice and I felt educated after my interactions. They were very ethical and extremely professional. Everyone from the receptionist to the salesman (Mark) that came out to give the estimates were so friendly!

They were very professional. They came in and were very respectful. It took them a while to do the job, but they did it. They cleaned up after themselves.

While in the process of extensive remodeling a structural problem was detected where the floor-joists for the second floor of the house were separating from the primary support beams. In addition another support beam was found to be structurally compromised which was the cause of the joists moving. Woodford Brothers representative came right away when contacted - evaluated the situation and reviewed a resolution plan with our contractor and myself. A part needed to be custom manufactured and that took a few days - they then came and installed that part to reinforce the structure of the second beam and then using steel cables reinforced the integrity of the building by pulling the joists back into their positions and preventing further separation.

The work took two days as promised and everything was explained in advance.

Our residence has had water in the basement since we purchased it 30+ years ago. Last fall, we hired a landscape architect to assess the problem and make recommendations to fix it. This year we decided to bite the financial bullet and install a comprehensive drainage system. Unless we acted, the structure would soon be deteriorating past a point of no return. I got 2 quotes from other companies, and after getting over the sticker shock, decided to contact Woodford, who we had heard, though expensive, is the premier structural renovation company in our area. I was surprised when their quote was not that much higher than their competitors. I prefer not to disclose the exact cost. If anyone reading this needs to know this, they can contact me directly. The estimator, David, was competent and professional. Soon after his visit, I received a letter from the President and Vice President of Woodford Bros describing their goal : to have 100% satisfied customers and zero misunderstandings, and the means that will be taken to achieve that. Included with the letter was a list of 50-60 references (names and phone numbers) in my and adjacent zipcodes for whom they had done work, and an invitation to contact as many of these people as I wanted. My project was small enough that Woodford required no money down, they expected no payment whatsoever until the contract has been fulfilled to my satisfaction. The project took a month to complete. The Crew Chief, Bill, ably assisted by Matt and Don, did everything possible to prevent any misunderstandings and to have a 100% satisfied customer. This they more than achieved. Watching Don at the helm of the CAT in the tightest quarters imaginable was like watching a professional sports event and a modern dance all rolled into one. The swale he made is a graceful contour that suits the setting to perfection. Don is a true artist. So is Matt. After making 2 radii on the front sidewalk, Matt went on to make 3 more on the rear sidewalk. The sidewalk is not only functional, like the swale, it too is a thing of beauty. I am an extremely satisfied customer and recommend Woodford without reservation. They are a premier organization, the kind of company and people you wish everyone was.

I tried Woodford Bros. on the recommendation of my house inspector (for another property). He felt they were the best in the area for structural repairs to older homes. They answered my call immediately, and courteously, and set up an appointment right away. Within two days I received a mailing from them with an explanation of their services and how they work, along with a substantial list of references complete with descriptions of the work done. I've had estimates over the years from many contractors, but never experienced that level of service before! The estimator was right on time and very personable. We walked through the house and discussed my concerns about the structural soundness of my house's center beam and garage and he explained that there was really nothing to be concerned about. He walked me through the issues and showed me why what looked like major problems (like a large crack in the garage wall) was not going to result in a collapse. Imagine, a contractor that tells you why you don't need them! I'll say this, I can see why they were recommended and I'll definitely keep them in mind for any future structural house repairs I may need, and spread the word like I'm doing here. They were great!
