Description of Work: On September 29th I purchased a "Big Deal" for $199 for 4 Hours of Wood Rot Restoration and Repair. On September 30th I received a response from A&B stating they would call me later that day to set up an appointment. A week later, after no contact, I emailed through Angie's List (on October 6th) to follow up. Both owners ended up coming to my house about a week later to look at the work that needed to be done. They said they would call back in a few days with a quote for everything and to set up a work time. About 2 weeks later, after no response again, I followed up through Angie's List email (on October 27th) and left a message for them on their cell. After still no response by November 5th I contacted Angie's List to see if I could get a refund. Apparently there is only a 30 day guarantee on services, but customer service did contact A&B on my behalf (I also tried to call them again during this time). Finally, 2 days later A&B called me to set up an appointment to do the repairs. Their only reason for never getting back to me (for an entire month) was that they were busy. If it had not been for Angie's list stepping in here, I am not sure the work would have ever been done. I am pretty understanding, so if they had just called and set up an appointment for a few weeks later I would have been fine. The kicker though is that I had told them during the initial visit that if the quote for vinyl came back too high I would have the work done in wood, but I would need the repairs done sooner so I could paint the wood before winter to give it some protection. I had a lot of work that I wanted done, but by the time an appointment was finally set I cut everything to the bare bones just to be over with this company. | |On to the work. A&B replaced rotted wood framing around a 2 car garage and a side garage door with vinyl. The unfortunate part here is that the work performed was pretty good. The replacement molding looked good and should last a long time. One complaint that I have is that they removed a keypad to a garage door opener. That is not a big deal since it was on the rotting wood. My issue is that they never installed it on the new molding, nor did they mention that they took it down. That keypad is mostly used in the summer so I did not notice until a week or so later when I found it lying on the ground in A flower bed. It would have been nice if they at least mentioned that it came down and for whatever reason could not put it back up. These guys were very nice, and their work was good, but I don't think the few dollars I saved for the "big deal" was worth the hassle.

Description of Work: They applied roof tar to the stand pipes and brought to our attention any problem areas by taking pictures.Very pleasant to deal with.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for A & B Home Service. It was for rot wood repair and exterior painting.

Description of Work: They replaced 2 vent pipe collars and the ridgeline vent system. They were very responsive and punctual. Their work was high quality. The only negative is that I thought their pricing was a little too high. I priced out the identical raw materials that were used in completing this job and this totaled approximately $370. So, labor and tax accounted for roughly 66% of the total bill

Description of Work: I told them about the lead in the ridge event. They said they corrected it but it hasn't rained since so I can't really tell. They did chalking so hopefully that did the trick. They were here about 15 to 20 minutes.

Description of Work: Originally they were hired to fix some shingles that had come off during high winds. I was so impressed with their professional attitude that I hired them to re-do that side of the roof. I will be hiring them to do the rest of the roof later on.

Description of Work: Replaced aluminum siding with vinyl siding. Completely vapor wrapped house and replaced all rotten wood along with installing 1/2" insulation board. Replaced window trim, soffetts and enlarged all vent holes in softer. Put shutters on 13 windows and wrapped 2 octagon windows. Pulled garage back against house with lag bolts and put flashing on roof of garage where it pulled away from the house. Filled in holes in asphalt driveway where old aluminum siding had left gouges and holes.
