Torrey Painting Company offered a powerwash coupon here on the website for your home. I utilized that coupon and waited for Torrey Painting Company to respond. I didn't hear from them for a few days so I contacted them via phone. I received a response within 48 hours after calling them myself, the owner claimed that he did not know he had a coupon on Angies List and also claimed he never received a confirmation email of my purchase. After that first phone call, Torrey Painting Company decided to try to "figure out" how they get paid from the coupon on here. I again never heard back from them so after a couple weeks I contacted them to find out the status. The owner claimed he could not resolve it. I decided to call Angies List myself and find out how the coupon works and the process was very easy to understand and I was able to reach someone within just a couple of minutes of calling. The owner of Torrey Painting Company claims he was incapable of accomplishing that task. I called the owner back and informed him of how the coupon process works and that someone from Angies List would also be contacting him to make sure he understood how the coupons work. Another couple days go by and I received no response from Torrey Painting Company so I called them, again. This time the owner claimed he never heard from anyone but was willing to honor the coupon price (he had to ask me how much it was because he claims he didn't know about it.) After that, the process of getting Torrey Painting Company out to do the service was still a bit of a challenge. Initially, the date that was set was 9-13-14. They never showed up, but the owner arrived unannounced later that evening to "reevaluate" his estimate. His estimate went up in price which actually turned into a quote. Since it was a quote I decided to go with it since now the price could not rise any further and the owner said he would do the service the following day. After powerwashing our home and gutters he tried to negotiate for more money. Nothing had changed, the time-frame that he was here and everything was as planned so I did not understand why he wanted another $50.00. He had agreed to be paid $300 that day and since he could not figure out how to work with Angies List (not believable) he was fine with waiting for me to get a refund for the coupon that I prepaid for and I would mail him the other $100. However, after doing the service he wanted another $50 on the spot in addition to the $300 already paid. In addition, his work damaged our home...he broke a porch light, bent a shutter, bent some metal housing around our front windows and somehow managed to blow our fuse in our garage so now our garage door and freezer do not work. The owner had promised professionalism and care, this was not evident in his work. We now have to spend almost as much in repairs for our home as we did for his service. We were having the house powerwashed because it is going on the market...these repairs are now an unnecessary expense and hold-up. I tried to reach the owner regarding these repairs in order to work something out but he has become unresponsive.
Description of Work: Torrey Painting Company did a complete powerwash of our home. This included the siding and gutters. Their service damaged our home, see below.

He did clean work. He was friendly, I don't feel that they lived up to the pricing that I was quoted. It took some time to get him to get the work correctly. In the end, he did a fairly good job of painting and clean-up. Some of the prep work was not ideal.
Description of Work: Hired them to paint part of an office building interior.
