All in all I tell everybody this is the place to go for electrical service, David explained that he and his wife are home owners as well and it is ridiculous what contractors want to charge why should they try and get rich off the next guy. He said he charges less because it all equal out in the end with good things happening for his family at some point when they need it the most. He has been around for over 15 years and doesn't advertise said word of mouth is the best advertisement well I AM SCREAMING CALL D & G HOME RENOVATIONS. once you meet him and see his work you ll know what I mean. I FELT BAD FOR ASKING HIM BUT I have a family of my own and after the last guy I wanted to be cautious so I asked for proof of insurance he provided me with a full copy of his ins. carrier and full copy of his policy
Description of Work: The owner himself came to see my dilemma after I explained what had happened with my first "so-called"electrician, my daughters room on the 2nd floor lost power then within 15minutes the whole upstairs and attic lost power. I thought I smelled burnt wires but didn't see any smoke and my detectors didn't go off. I tried reaching the company that did the wiring but of course no answer. So on awimb I went on Craigs List and found D&G. I have 3 children me and my wife both work but still struggle from time to time making sure our kids can have the things they need and some things they don't but they get good grades and do pitch in around the house. So David came out and spent an hour and a half testing wires and following old electric lines to new ones then he showed me what the problem was and thank GOD I called him, behind my youngest daughters light switch was a melted ball of wire nuts, burnt wires and electrical tape!!!!!He said it was a good thing the breaker kicked off when it did, but still could have been a disaster. He explained in layman's terms that the other guy ran new thicker wire between the first and second floors this he explained was like sucking a milkshake thru a straw. The old wire couldn't take the amp draw the new wire was demanding. He said imagine trying to tow a car and you got 2 pieces of chain 1 is big heavy steel with welded links and you hook it to an old swing set chain you had laying around for 20 years, all is fine towing until you come to a hill or put more force on the chains the old 1 will break every time, might not happen right away but it will. He went over every bit of what he wanted to do and all I was thinking is "cant afford this, wifes going to kill me!""but I couldn't believe it a whole new main line to the first floor ,new breaker and new line thru out 2nd floor materials and 3 full days of labor total 1250.00 materials were 527.83. David showed me every step of the way and his helper was very professional and courteous and when they left you couldn't even tell that they were there except now we can run the AC and my daughters hair dryer and the computers not a light in the whole house even flickers or dims. We called him back 2 months later to do the garage and got a discount for being repeat customers, we had a hot tub 220 volt heater installed and I put a outlet for my welder even with the 220 extra lines 1 day 425 in materials final cost 800!!!!!!
