Description of Work: Peter shows the most responsive to all my calls and email questions, compared to all the other contractors that I called for quotes. They provide reasonable price and better manufacturer warranty on GAF shingles as a GAF licensed contractor. I was pressured by the shingle price increase this month, but Peter did not take advantage of the price increase and did not push me to make decision. Although I didn't hire star roofing eventually, I'm impressed by their quick response, professional explanations, and flexibility in schedules.

Description of Work: Star Roofing provided me a comprehensive estimate, price wise they were the median from 2 other quotes received. They addressed all of my questions as they developed during the RFQ process and prior to the work starting. From a timing perspective, they accurately estimated when the job could start and the duration. I was very pleased with the finished product and they work they did in cleaning up the job site. My only concern was in regards to the lack of hip venting provided within the quote, while this was only an additional 12% in cost discovered after they started, it sounded like something that may have been overlooked during the estimate process. Given this fact, I would still recommend to friends/family.

Thanks for the A rating and good words. Occasionally there are "unforseens" on jobs. In this case, due to the very steep pitch of the roof, we were unable to get up there and notice there were vents on the hips. When this was detected we notified Mr. F and did the additional work at a very low mark up. We do everything we can upfront to spec the job out right the first time. It would appear we did not handle this situition correctly. I have spoken to the customer and apologized that we did not call her to advise her that the type of job she asked us to bid on was outside of our service area. We normally do not do residentail roofing in the Athens NY area. She understood and accepted my apology and I will use this situition to better train our customer servive personal.
