Description of Work: They did some electrical work for us.

Description of Work: Company provided an estimate for wiring in a new room in my basement. Person seemed very knowledgeable and provided a detailed quote. I arranged to have the work done by another contractor, because I found their price to be too high.

Description of Work: I needed someone to help me put together a chandelier I had purchased on-line and hang it. The person that came over to my house was very kind and patient. He noticed that the box from my previous chandelier needed to be adjusted and perfomed what was needed. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Underground yard post light wire has been damaged.

Description of Work: Our landscape/outside lighting system was completely broken-down. It kept tripping the breaker every time we turned it on. When Mel Carr Electric came to look at it, I was told (and shown) that the totally WRONG materials were used and the workmanship was shoddy at best! We paid $8000.00 for that system!!!! And that was in 2001!!! Carr said they could redo it it for 2500.00$---the RIGHT way!!!!!! Since we couldn't afford the whole thing right now, we just had our front lights and some outside electrical outlets put in, costing $1850.00. They'll do the rest either this fall or next summer. The man who did thework is Don Pickard. He was wonderful!! Very polite, professional and prompt. He stayed until 6:30 pm to finish the job (arriving at 8:30am and no breaks!!) Great experience. I signed up for a yearly electrical inspection for our home plus 10% discount on any work done for $10.95 per month. It's worth it to me to have an electrician I can trust and count on!
