The light in my dining room was flickering and then went out entirely. My guess had been that the leak in my flat roof had caused a short in the line, but not so. They came, found out the switch was faulty and replaced it in 10 minutes. They told me the cost up front, replaced it quickly and they were on their way. They were clean, thoughtful and efficient. Would most surely use Mel Carr's people again!

It went great! They were very easy to work with and I was able to get an appointment right away. They are very cooperative, professional and nice.

From the start, Mel Carr was easy to work with and responsive. We set up an appointment right away and I met with Dan A. He was great! I had other quotes and they identified the knob and tube in the basement, but didn't go any further. Dan removed every outlet cover and switchplate and correctly identified additional locations that had knob and tube wiring in the house. This gave me a more accurate quote and minimized the unpleasant surprises that would be potentially uncovered during the job. Dan had a more junior employee with him and as he examined my wiring, he explained things to both of us. This made me very comfortable going with Mel Carr and we set up an appointment right away. Dan A. showed up on time and got right to work. Dan went above and beyond. He had great suggestions when I was relocating a few switches, with alternates options that didn't cost anything extra, but increased the utility of the switches/space. Dan did an awesome job, completed everything in time and at the quoted amount. The only added costs were for items that I requested be added to the job as we were moving things along (i.e. an extra outlet here or there). I will hire Mel Carr again for all of my electrical work - I've already used them again for an outlet that wasn't the right amperage and Dan A. trouble-shot everything before just replacing it and saved me some money by doing so. I recommend them without any reservations. They will get the job done professionally, thoroughly, and at a good price.

We had such a great experience with this company, which was very welcome after several other companies were non-responsive or couldn't fit in a simple job for several months. The company (Mel Carr) responded within minutes to set up a time for a written estimate (no mystery charges!), and had a representative, Jason, at our house within a day or two, on time (he even called to give me a 15-minute warning). Jason gave us multiple quotes for several different options and worked with us to come up with a solution for a tricky venting problem. We verified their rate was competitive, and proceeded with the job. Again, they were able to get us a service appointment quickly, were punctual, respectful of our home, and very knowledgeable. The fan was installed perfectly. We'll absolutely use Mel Carr Electric anytime we need electrical work in the future. Thank you!

The electrician was very professional and gave me a written estimate for a couple of options. I could have swaged the chandelier, which would have been cheaper, but decided that installing a new box would be best in the long run. He was very careful of my floors and furniture. I was very pleased with the result. One of the things I liked best about this provider was that they were very prompt in responding to my email and gave me an appointment the next week. I experienced other people who I contacted regarding this job who did not bother to respond.

They were great, they came quickly, restored power as needed, and called back the next day to make sure everything was ok. Very professional, personable and considerate of our situation.

Provider arrived within time frame projected. Listened to my description of problem and what I believed to be the root causes. He checked all outlets and identified another outlet in the basement office that I had overlooked. This was a GFCI outlet. When this outlet GFCI was reset, all outlets originally without power returned to operational status. He rechecked all outlets and did a test with the GFCI tripped. He, also, switched wire connection in one bathroom back to the original wiring, which connected to the GFCI that was tripped. Provider was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Provider gave me $25 discount for being an Angie's List customer.

He gave the arrival time of 8:15-8:45am, and he came at just before 8:30 am. He was professional and was prepared with the parts needed. We will definitely use Mel Carr for future needs!

I have an electric problem that I think is the kind of problem they probably give students in electrician school. It had to do with setting up a light to connect to a 220 Amp circuit. Since it was beyond my skill level, I call Carr Electric based on their rating on Angie's List. An electrician arrived at the appointed time and I explained what I wanted done and showed him where the connections needed to be made. He said he would have to find out if he could get then proper fixture and would call me back, I never heard from him again.

Two technicians arrived promptly in the morning. They were very professional and layed down mats throughout the house. The work was done quickly and correctly. A problem arose because the current position of the light would not allow for a fan to be installed in that position. The technicians came to me with the problem immediately and with solutions to the problem. Everything went great and they helped me patch the hole in the ceiling where the old light fixture was that was no longer needed. Mel Carr goes above and beyond to the job done correctly and to the satisfaction of the customer!

Determined problem was with fuse, corrected quickly. Dave B. was knowledgeable and professional.

I contated Mel Carr Electric to set up an appointment for an electrician to find out why my new diswasher would not work. The gentlemen who took my call was very nice, professional and responsive. The serviceman, Dave B, arrived right on time on July 1, 2014. He went right to work to find the problem and quickly diagnosed the problem as being a bad wire inside the circuit box. He made the repair quickly and efficiently and even finished the hookup of my new dishwasher and waited with me to make sure it worked. I am very pleased with Mel Carr Electric company and will not hesitate to call them for any future problems. A great company to do business with. Thank you Dave for an outstanding job well done.

The electrician was right on time and troubleshooted the issue very quickly. He had the parts available handy with him and so all the job was done in less than an hour ! Very professional and respectful. Will surely ask for their services as and when needed in the future.

The electrician was at my house when he said he would be there ( actually about 5 minutes late) dug up the old post, installed the new one along with the light and installed timers inside the house to control the light, cleaned up the job site perfectly. Price was lower than quoted and the service was friendly and professional. Now I have an electrician to call when I need one and as they stated "no job too small or too large.

Dan A. did a great job! Showed up on time. Checked everything out. Explained what he'd be doing. Checked with me to make sure he was doing exactly what I wanted. Taught me a bit about electricity. Patched a couple spots where he had to go into the wall. And don't tell my wife but I think he left the place cleaner than it was when he started! Could not have been happier with the experience. This is the third time I've used Mel Carr. And not the last.

Dan A. was the technician on our service call and we were very happy with both the quote visit and the work that was performed. He was helpful and provided suggestions along the way and did the work well and quickly. We were given a much higher quote by another electrician (half day vs full day kind of thing).

Things went great! Use Dan A., he is top-notch!! Cleaned up wherever he went. Was very patient with questions and small requests from my Mother and myself as to where to put the new fixtures. Could not have done a better job. Friendly and professional. I will be using him again to replace my fuse box and would recommend him to anyone who needs an electrician. A little pricey, but well worth it.

I love the fact that when I called, a person answered the phone and scheduled immediate service. No worries over leaving voicemail and wondering if anyone will call you back. Dave came out within a few hours of my call and did the necessary work, explaining options and reasons for the problem. He also answered some general electrical questions. When he learned that my husband had been in the Navy he gave us a military discount. I would definitely hire again.

He had to deal with ancient home wiring, and adapt the shallow old ceiling junction box. He arrived at the time specified, was very helpful and efficient, and despite the deficiencies of the existing wiring was able to complete the job promptly. He was also able to give me good advice regarding some future work I will need to have done. I have every intention of using Mel Carr's services again in the future.
