Very well, no problems at all but I do think the cost was a little high for the job. Dave B. was very courteous and did a fine job changing the outlet in a reasonable amount of time.

He discovered the problem which was a port hole in the pool pump was exposed. He plugged the hole, put silicone around it to ensure no further moisture would get inside the pump. In addition, he informed us that it would be better for our circuit breaker to install a timer rather than turning it on and off every day. So we decided to have the timer installed as he said he could do it right away.

Dan did a wonderful job, as he's always done. I highly recommend Mel Carr Electric.

They arrived on time and did a very professional job in a timely manner and were very neat in their work. It including installing an outlet in a decoratively painted plaster wall and it was done without damage to the paint beyond the installation point.

Dave B. Showed up on time both days. On the first day he quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem with the porch light. It was a defective bulb extender. i then showed him what I wanted done in the bedroom. Dave gave me some good ideas and wrote up an estimate. He showed me how to save money by joining their Service Partner Plan. He also accepted an Angie's List discount coupon. Dave returned the next business day and installed the bedroom lights, dimmer and fan box. Dave was very friendly and gave me some good advice My dog loved him!

Some of the lights in our kitchen weren't working and it did not seem to be a tripped breaker so I called Mel Carr electrical and left a message on his voice mail. He returned my call before 8:00 am and we set up an appointment for noon to 3:00. Shortly he called back and was able to send a service man earlier. The service man called and was at our house by 11:00. Jason was friendly, professional and efficient. He diagnosed the problem as a broken circuit breaker and replaced it and the cost was quite reasonable. This was the best service call we have had.

Jason was going to arrive earlier than designated when appointment was made so he called 30 minutes ahead of time and asked if the earlier arrival would be okay. He was pleasant, professional and efficient. We are very satisfied.

Dave was very knowledgeable about matter and performed both jobs in a timely matter walking me thru the process every step of the way. Honored Angie's list coupon as well as provided a military discount.

Dan called 25 mins out to let us know he was coming. Once he arrived he got right to work and explained our power system. He explained concerns and answered our questions promptly. He gave us an estimate for the repairs needed. This business gives veterans discounts! Paid 100.00 for the estimate and it gets refunded if we use them to do the work. Dan was great and professional. Side note, he did look like Walter White from breaking bad so thats like 10 cool points.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a prompt appointment to have a lot of small electrical jobs completed around my house. Dan A., electrical technician, arrived on time and I was very happy with all work he completed. He was able to answer all of my numerous questions and concerns about the work he was performing and I would recommend this company to family and friends.

Jason C was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He took time to answer all of our questions - even about potential future work. We will be doing business again!!!

Tremendous!!! Jason C. is so professional and courteous. He always wore protective booties when in my house. He took the time to explain each and every detail of the work so there were no surprises. He made suggestions for future work which were very helpful! He really knows what he is doing. The Owner of the company who answered the phone when I called was also very friendly and polite and scheduled my service calls very promptly. I highly recommend this company and especially Jason C.! It is hard to find contractors these days who answer the phone and come to do the work in a professional and prompt manner! Mel Carr Electric is just such a company.

My new dryer was delivered and major sparks flew when it was plugged in. I called Carr's and someone was at my house within a few hours. The electrician found that one of the wires was hooked up to the ground terminal on the receptacle. He rewired and tested nearby outlets as well. He was thorough and answered all of my many questions completely and politely. I have a new electrician.

I called Mel Carr Electric because I saw water leaking out of our circuit breaker box. They weren't sure if they would be able to respond on that day, but Jason C. did show up that afternoon. He analyzed the situation and determined where the water was coming from (aged sealing at the entrance cable above the meter box) and that there was no immediate danger due to the leak. He advised that I re-caulk the area to stop the leak. Then he examined the circuit breaker box and noted corrosion, indicating that this had been leaking for a while and I just hadn't noticed it. He gave me two options - 1) replace the circuit breaker box and reseal the area where the leak was occurring, or 2) replace the entire entrance since the leak was above the meter box and there wasn't any way to determine the condition of it and the rest of the entrance. I elected to replace the entire entrance to be sure everything was new and in good working order. Jason C. showed up on time on the appointed day and worked without stopping for the entire day (except for a short lunch break). He was very professional and willing to explain everything he was doing. We are pleased with the professional response of Mel Carr Electric and Jason C. in particular. Although it was an expense I wasn't planning on, the work was completed in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asks.

Prompt and Reliable. Our central vacuum system stopped working. Not exactly an emergency but distressing as we were expecting guests at the end of the week. There was no central vac technician that would service our area, but Nutone on-line Vac support suggested that a good electrician may be able to identify whether it was the relay or motor. So we left messages with a few electricians. Mel Carr was the only one who returned our call that same day. I spoke to owner Rob Carr, and he was able to send Jason in 2 days. Jason arrived as promised, was polite, and identified that it was the relay. Jason was reluctant to charge us for the visit but we insisted. The accurate diagnosis was very helpful; we were able to order the right part & install ourselves.

I called, was given several appointment options, was called prior to arrival, came on time, did a thorough job, very professional, and friendly.

Dave did an excellent job. He called prior to arrival and arrived on time. He covered his work boots with booties so he would not track dirt into my home. He made sure my family room and outside of my home was picked up after he completed the work. His work was meticulous. After each light was installed he double checked to make sure each light worked. I would highly recommend Dave, and will request his service for future electrical work. I love the new LED lights! I also purchased a Residential Service Partner Agreement from Mel Carr . The agreement entitles me to an annual safety and maintenance inspection and a 13% discount on all repairs.

Estimate call handled quickly Called before arriving....two men. I had 4 problem areas identified: 1- sparking outlet 2- a thermostat not working 3- a non-functional outlet 4- a non-functioning exterior light fixture and outlet After some discussion, the estimate for # 1 was $ 179....which I thought was high but since they were here decided to go ahead. Took them about 15 minutes to replace the outlet! # 2 is a bad relay control box and is part of the heating system......so no action as I need to talk to heating outfit. #'s 3 & 4 according to the team needs further diagnosis for about $ 250.......since this figure seemed high I chose to defer these non-priority issues I told them I was on Angie's List but I assume I got no discount since the cost to me was so high. Follow up: Robb Carr followed up on my review the next day with a phone call and agreed to an adjustment that I think was more in line with the service provided. In addition, he personally delivered the adjustment check! I appreciate the quick follow-up and based on this resolution would rate the Customer Service "A".

Jason C. arrived on the early side of the scheduled window of time (always a good thing). He was courteous and professional and explained what the charges are for troubleshooting. He checked all the circuit breakers to make sure that wasn't the source of the problem and checked multiple outlets. He determined that the problem was a wire in the ceiling fan very quickly and answered all my questions. (The rate I was charged reflected a 25% discount from Angie's List.)

The installation went extremely well and was completed on July 14 2015. But let me start with my initial phone call to the company. Within minutes they returned my call. The conversation was very professional and we scheduled a date and time for them to give me an estimate. For the estimate they called before they came to the house. Jacob their employee was very professional and considerate of not dirtying the house as he wore booties on his shoes. I agreed to the estimate and purchased the ceiling fan on my own. When the fan arrived I called them for a mutually acceptable installation date and time. Like beforehand, everything was done with precision in communicating when they would come and phoned before they arrived. What little dust occurring from the installation Jacob cleaned before he left the house. This company is responsive, responsible and professional in all regards. It was a pleasure working with them. Clearly any home electrical work needed in the future is theirs to have.

I called Mel Carr Electric yesterday to inquire about having ceiling lights replaced. The gentleman who answered was very nice, responsive and knowledgable. Never having any experience with ceiling light fixtures, I struggled to find the right words to describe what I was looking for. This kind gentleman, somehow, understood exactly what I was trying to say and what I was looking for. I scheduled an appointment for the electrician to come to my home and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get an appointment this morning. I received a courtesy phone call before they arrived to let me know they were on their way. The electrician, Dave B, and his partner, showed up right on schedule. They removed three old ceiling light fixtures and installed three new ones I had already purchased. They also removed an old non functioning smoke detector and installed a new smoke and carbon monoxide detector and gave me a brief tutorial on how it works and what I would need to know for safety purposes. They also spent time with me discussing different options available to me for several other future projects. Dave B and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently and also cleaned up the areas where they had been working. I also used the Angie's List Member Coupon and received $25 off the total. Although quality electrical work can be a bit expensive, it is reassuring to know the job was done correctly and safely by experienced knowledgeable electricians. My thanks to all.

On 1/12/2015 we lost all power to our home. National Grid came , investigated and found that the meter box had burned out. They also determined that there was a break in the line somewhere between the house and the power source. They said that before they could provide a temporary power hook-up I would have to get an electrician to replace the meter box. I was frantic to find an electrician that would come IMMEDIATELY to do the job. After numerous calls to electricians and electrical contractors I was in a panic to find one to respond. Mr. Robb Carr of "Mel Carr Electric Corp." not only returned my call but arrived within the hour and informed us that an electrician would arrive shortly. He did, and immediately went to work replacing the meter box. Approximately one hour later power was restored. Mr. Carr was not only professional in explaining every step of the procedure but caring enough to offer to go out and get us some hot coffee. I would also like to point out that his was the only response from the many calls I made. In the spring I will gladly employ his services to find and repair the break in the line.
