Service was punctual, professional and very well explained.

It went great! We called on Friday morning and they came over at 1:00 that afternoon. They checked our problems and gave us an estimate immediately. They checked with the office and were able to complete the job at that time. The serviceman was excellent and professional. I highly recommend them.

Dan arrived promptly, reviewed the three lights to be addressed, reviewed their pricing and set out to look at the state of each light. Turns out that two could be repaired and the lantern, once repaired, had the new globe installed and we were good to go. One of the most positive experiences that I have had with any repair service ever!!!!

Our experience with Mel Carr electric was originally unpleasant; we felt that they had severely overcharged us for a simple job, in part because the different parts of the job hadn't been clearly broken down in their estimate. But they contacted us afterwards and offered a refund on the part of the job which we were unhappy with the price of; they didn't have to do that, and we were impressed. So I've revised my original review accordingly.

Dan was excellent. He was very professional, on time, and worked long hours. He did not try to up sell me, he just wanted to make sure my home was safe. I could not recommend them highly enough. They were wonderful.

The job was performed with great professionism. The light looks and works perfectly. I even got a free magnet/letter opener.

Dave was extremely patient, polite and professional. Having two year old twins I probably should have scheduled a later appointment than I did so the kids were more settled. So he walked into a double morning meltdown and because my wife and I were dealing with the children I was unable to take out the old stove, get the newer one, just prepare in general for the work that had to get done.

While staff is excellent and they come on time, their pricing is not based on actual time/materials, but from their own list of set price per type of job. We hired Mell Carr Electric to run wiring from an existing outlet box to a new outlet box about 8 feet away. The job site was an unfinished portion of our basement, with exposed rafters and studs, so no portion of the wiring route was hidden or difficult to access. The new outlet box and receptacles were already in place; Mel Carr furnished only the connecting length of three-wire cable. The job required only one electrician, who spent a total of 20 minutes on site. Mell Carr billed us $266.76 - several times what the job should have cost.

The chirping from a malfunctioning smoke detector was maddening. After changing the battery it still chirped so I called Mel Carr Electric. Dan A. arrived in a timely fashion, evaluated the situation and offered me some practical solutions. He was pleasant, professional and took the time to explain what might be the problem. With no pressure from him, I decided to go with a replacement. He was nice enough to ask if I had a coupon but the coupon magazines he mentioned I don't receive. Then he mentioned Angie's List. BINGO! As a member I was able to print a coupon off the computer saving me $25. Thanks Dan A., Mel Carr Electric and Angie's List. That's what I call a winning combination!

Called multiple electrical repair people over months and my phone calls either were not returned, they told me they werent interested, or a no show for the appt. I called Mel Carr and they were there promptly to analyze the problem. They came back a few days later to fix it. The man they sent was very professional.

Mel Carr arranged to send someone to the house on a couple of day's notice. Jason called ahead to minimize lost time for work and had just arrived when I got to the house. Jason worked quickly replaced the damaged outlet, checked the wiring to the house, and put silicone by a gasket in the box that weatherproofs the outlet for better waterproofing. The entire job was performed precisely as he diagnosed it and was done within a lunch hour. I couldn't be happier.

I have used their services on a Sunday and their response time was great. They were professional and courteous.

The light did not blink when the electriciam left, however, he tested a few wall outlets and three in my dining room would not work after tested them and left. Another electrician referred to me by a relative put a new switch in for those oulets and it was half the price. I feel this company is much too pricey and evidently not thorough except to recommend more work. There was a year warranty on the work but the work done sas satisfactory.

We needed someone to come out and help us hang our new chandelier because we had stripped the box it was supposed to be hung from. At that point we thought we would have to replace the box and rewire everything. MEL CARR Electric sent one of their guys out and he was able to fix it without replacing it. He also hung our chandelier and did a fantastic job! He was very thorough and professional. He didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. He didnt charge me an arm and a leg and he also gave me a discount for being an Angies List member. He was ontime and it didnt take him hours to get us fixed. We would most definitely use MEL CARR again. We are new to the state and to this area and didnt know anyone and finding a good electrician is priceless! I wont ever have to worry again.

My first call was returned within 24 hours. The job was scheduled promptly. The crew was pleasant, punctual, neat, and attentive to detail.

Mel Carr installers are a refreshing breath of fresh air at a time when services in general appear to be getting shabbier and shabbier. This company cares for you as an individual. Whenever the installer, who was also the estimator for our job, entered our house, he installed on wearing disposable booties, even though we told him it wasn't necessary. All work was done in a timely and professional manner. Job took 2 1/2 days, and clean-up was done after every day. Job estimate was accomplished using their book of charges. Everything is priced according to supplies used, diameters of wires, and distance of runs. This served to assure us that our estimate would be verifiable, and not just some made-up figure. The installer took the time to thoroughly explain everything that he would be doing, suggesting possible, better ways of accomplishing things, many of which were actually less expensive than I had originally come up with. I've used this company before, and will gladly do so again.

They are professional and showed up on time. They do pretty good work. They are a little expensive, but you know what you are getting when you call them. They were pretty respectful. That really stood out to me.

Mel came a few days after we contracted them to give us an estimate. We received a written estimate a few days later. I confirmed the job with Rob by phone. He ordered the generator. They came one day to bring the generator and dig a trench, and the next day to install the gas line, transfer box and electrical connections. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would. They were polite and professional. My wife and I are completely satisfied. We plan to use them for additional electric work in the house.

Electrician came first for a wiring repair and noticed the problem with the circuit box. He returned several days later, at a date we chose, to make the repair. It took all morning and into the afternoon, with electricity to the house shut off for a few hours, He worked efficiently and left everything in good order. Since this qualified as home improvement, there was no tax. We were impressed enough with the workmanship to take out a year-long service contract and found that the contract's discount provision on this one repair more than covered the cost of the contract.

Prompt response to my service call. In fact, they came earlier than I anticipated! Although my issue was something I could have fixed myself (ugh!), they were kind enough to offer to look at any other issues we had in our house, checked the main panel, etc. to make up for me having to pay for a service call I didn't need.
